Re: Fable Development Is 'Going Fine' Despite Rumours, Says Jez Corden

PhhhCough

Don't worry about the outside noise and make a great game to shut people up. But take into consideration games like the witcher III, elden ring, botw, horizon series, GoTsushi, etc, have come out since fable and changed the genre for the better. Can't be sitting on your past deeds and expect it to be a hit. Doesn't have to be revolutionary, just equal or better to whats come before it.

Re: Deals: Get 10% Off Xbox Game Pass Subscriptions With This Discount

PhhhCough

@GuyinPA75 yes, it is ultimate. I get my 1yr xbox live gold for $45ish(eneba dot com). Then upgrade to gamepass ultimate, $15, via the xbox dashboard. But you HAVE to wait for your current sub to lapse, because if you add the 1yr xblg, it'll convert to 6months of your current gamepass, instead. I think you can stack 3yrs of xblg before converting.

Re: Sniper Elite 5 UK Sales Figures Show Huge Xbox Game Pass Impact

PhhhCough

Xbox is synonymous with gamepass, now. If rebellion were to skip out on gamepass, that's a lot of eyes/players they would miss out on. So it's good to take that upfront money, whilst selling on xbox, still and elsewhere. If gotg got $10m, I could see this getting about $8m, give or take, considering how well it is.

The narrative "gamepass might hurt sales" seems to forget the payment(s) the devs/pubs get, to put their game's on the gamepass. Also, whether the game's sales are 8% or 80%, a game on gamepass, still sells on xbox.

Re: Xbox One Is Probably Here To Stay, Whether We Like It Or Not

PhhhCough

The mid-gen refresh is what hurts the base console.....and it being hella old. Games run fine on the xbox one x, I hear. But when the install base for the xbo/ps4 is 150m+, why would you, as a dev, purposely leave that money on the table. Especially if you aren't using the ps5/xbsx to it's full advantage? Would I like them to leave xbo/ps4 behind, sure. But do what you have to do, to get yours and the funding to make great games...so long as it isn't MTs.

Ps.
If they can implement xcloud gaming with little to no latency, either input or graphical fidelity, then keep promoting it.

Re: Former Xbox Exec 'Scared' That Game Pass May Hurt Game Sales

PhhhCough

Gamepass can hurt sales, if people are willing to wait. It can help if people are gonna buy a game after or before it leaves the service. It's all subjective to the individual. Same with $70 full price games. If it sells, good, more money. But if people are going to wait for a sale, doesn't that hurt just as much?
So, in summation gaming, now-a-days, is bad for gaming.

Re: Xbox Turned Down The Chance To Make Exclusive Marvel Games In 2014

PhhhCough

"Woulda, coulda, shoulda"
But who knows if ms said yes, that they would tap insomniac to create an xb spiderman game, and would it have been any good, etc. The way it played out, we have an excellent spiderman game now. If ms/xb wants that comic book money get a contract with image and spawn, try to get xmen for the xbox, etc. If not, make great games AND release them in a timely manner.

Re: Even Halo's Co-Creator Isn't Sure Where The Show's 'Inspiration' Is Coming From...

PhhhCough

If you took away the armor and changed the covenant, slightly, it wouldnt be recognizable as halo. And that's the problem. The show is so different from anything we've been accustomed to, ie games/books, they shouldve just called it something else, entirely, or at least from a different spartan's perspective. Not THEE Master Chief.

I'm glad people are enjoying it. But I couldn't, not as a Halo vehicle.
The Halo games: when can we see master chief's face??
The Halo show: here's master chief's face AND... butt.

Re: Halo Infinite Dev: 'None Of Us Inside Of 343 Look At This Roadmap And Are Happy With It'

PhhhCough

343 releases roadmap and to cut off the fervor and the likes, from the crowd, they "admit" they're not happy with it. Y'all released it and the content within. No one to blame but themselves.

We have had our fair share of rushed horrid games. When a dev says we need more time, we tend to listen, especially nowadays. The fact they've been so mum on the topic and now are saying this, shows the lack of faith in themselves.

Re: Report Suggests Ubisoft Could Be 'The Next Big Gaming Acquisition'

PhhhCough

Wasn't this a thing, a few months back? Didn't ubi say "..we're open to being acquired.." and "..so long as we have the freedom to continue to do what we want.."
So in essence, give us money and leave us alone. I guess you get access to the backlog, etc. Sounds like ubi is getting desperate. It's last call and no one is looking their way.
