It's hard to believe, but this month marks the one-year anniversary of Xbox RPG Avowed; Obsidian's early 2025 release landed last February on Xbox, PC and Game Pass. It's changed and evolved since then of course — with more updates to come very soon as well — so we want to know what you make of the game almost 12 months later.

It's always felt like Avowed got a bit of a mixed reception at times, but opinions certainly leaned positive overall. We scored the game a very respectable 8/10, the overall Metacritic score landed at 80, and the game's Steam ratings are mostly positive with over 8,000 user reviews as things stand. That's certainly not a bad return for a new Xbox series set in the Pillars of Eternity universe, and it may even lead to a sequel if recent rumours are to be believed.

If you missed the other recent news, Microsoft and Obsidian confirmed last month that the game will be making its way to PS5 later this February, with a big Xbox anniversary update to drop alongside the new port. That anniversary update sounds pretty meaty with three new playable races joining the roster and lots more besides, so it's safe to say that the experience will change and evolve a fair bit this month too.

But, prior to this big update landing, how do you feel about Xbox RPG Avowed, just about a year after launch? Have the base game and its subsequent updates satisfied you over the last 12 months, or were you always hoping for a bit more from the Obsidian title?
