Want to see JRPGs like Persona and Shin Megami Tensei on Xbox? Atlus, the developer behind these IPs, wants to hear from you if so, as the company has just published its annual survey questioning fans about all sorts of things.
The bits we're most interested in arrive quite late into the survey, where Atlus asks that in regards to ports, possible remakes, sequels and other things, which platform would you be most interested in playing these potential games on?
As you may recall, we've seen surveys like this from Atlus before - back in March last year, the company was also asking which games it should port to Xbox - and hopefully with enough interest, we'll finally get some in the future.
In regards to Persona 5 specifically, we've got our hopes up a few times over the past year that something might be happening with Xbox, but nothing concrete has surfaced as of yet. Surely it's only a matter of time...?
Going to fill in the survey? What Atlus games do you want on Xbox? Tell us in the comments.

About time that Atlus titles come to Xbox and hopefully Vanillaware, Falcom etc also.
Xbox are now getting too big to ignore for Japanese studios which is a good thing.
@Kooky_Daisuke I hope so too, one of the main reasons I got a ps5 was the Japanese games which aren't on Xbox. I prefer to have a choice where I can play them
I would wager sony have exclusive timed rights to new persona games whilst xbox, nintendo and pc can get older games and spin offs. So since persona 5 has been out for quite a few years now I'd suspect its coming to switch and xbox towards the end of the year. And I encourage you all to play it if it does
@Lavalera Exactly why I brought a PS5 just for the Japanese games that never release on Xbox.
They are too good to miss out on and think Final Fantasy 16 will be out this year and I'm certainly not missing that.
@Kooky_Daisuke Yea I really hope Xbox is getting to that point. Last few years have been good with Dragon Quest, Octopath, getting the older Final Fantasy games etc. and now Atlus. So I really hope it continues in the right direction.
North America only, though you can just say yes if you come from another area of the world.
They pretty much do this every year or two and nothing ever comes of it. It's unlikely at this point. Heck they do it on Nintendo too and that has a bigger presence in Japan that PlayStation and Xbox combined.
@GADG3Tx87 I mean, Soul Hackers 2 is coming to Xbox. So, not quite the white whale, but that's still pretty surprising.
@UltimateOtaku91 I’d be happy for P4G on everything ._.
They do this ever so often, take a survey, gauge "interest". Then proceed to ignore all requests. I don't care anymore.
@mousieone I'd like a persona 3 remake, the one on psp didn't do it justice
about a year ago, they did this exact same thing and i said that Atlus just does this for fun. Xbox isn't getting Persona as long as Sony keeps the checks coming. don't waste your time.
@mousieone I had played the original P4 on PS2 back in the day, but I finally played Golden on Steam here recently. Man oh man, I forgot how insanely good P4 is. I'd say I actually think the cast of 4 is the strongest in the series. Everyone deserves to play that game.
I played Persona 5 to death on PS4, but this would give me a chance to try Royal so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Don't ask again Atlus just do it
only open to usa residents. what about canada or other countries that buy it too.
Should I lie and say I live in USA?
I mean, I pretty much live in the North American part of the internet. I rarely ever talk to anyone from my country in my daily life.
Another year, another Atlus survey. Why can’t you just be like other publishers and put the games on it without asking questions. It’s either you do or you don’t, quit getting people’s hopes up.
@UltimateOtaku91 I wanna live in your universe!
@SplooshDmg I played it on laptop to but I just want it on console. I mean not even the PS4 is worthy? o.O
@Xiovanni can’t you just look up a zip code for like a US place?
@Trotterwatch my guess is that in the European markets they see the PlayStation attach rate especially with the survey bringing up PS4 as well
@mousieone ATLUS and their bizarre ways. Not trying to rub it in, but I have my PC run into a 50 inch TV and a wireless dongle for an Xbox controller, so I basically played the Xbox version in spirit and well, it was pretty groovy. I know the game has sold over a million copies on Steam. Why they haven't ported it to everything that will run it is just beyond me. Seems like fairly effortless money at this point. Hopefully some of these new releases SEGA is talking up is the ATLUS backlog finally getting broad multiplat support.
@mousieone It doesn't even ask for that.
It's quite a long and tedious survey with a lot of questions I wasn't sure how to answer as someone who never played an Atlus game (P4 DAN and SMT5 on Xbox when?)
It also inconsistently acknowledges non Steam PC gaming in some of the earlier questions, but later questions only acknowledge Steam.
Atlus: "Xbox gamers! Do you want Persona on Xbox??"
Xbox Gamers: "What's Persona?"
@XxEvilAshxX Muahahaha, what a great joke, did you come up with it just by your self? A true testament to our contemporary comedy, it's just too good....
Bring all of them! I would love all Sega Atlus games on Xbox, making it the only console I would need
@Kooky_Daisuke the day I see any vanilla ware titles on Xbox like 13 sentinels or dragons crown I'll eat my hat.
When Atlus games start coming to Xbox, other developers will follow suit. WHhere are NIS and Falcom? I'd love to play the Ys games on Xbox.
I think Microsoft should put some of their older games on Game Pass as an introductory to the Xbox community. Like how Spike Chunsoft is working with Microsoft to do. That would be the Smartest way into the ecosystem.
@SplooshDmg on a good day their weird on a bad day they eccentric. They asked about 3 different versions of Catherine. I swear they think that game is the pinnacle of their achievements.
@Xiovanni yeah I think their games arwbTRting to get super popular on Steam. My issues is after I f saying I r never played SMT it asked me who I would refer the game to. Like I’d I’ve never played it why would tell someone to play i?
@Royalblues Soul Hackers 2 is coming. We shall see.
It is in everyone’s best interest for Japanese games to be on as many platforms as possible with how much Sony is censoring them now. It’s at the point where if there is a choice, the Switch version is the default choice as it will not be censored on there.
@mousieone I'm such a lush for Catherine. Lord have mercy, I love that game. The original is hands down one of my favorite ATLUS titles, but I honestly don't really love Full Body. Things about it were really good, but Rin just felt way too shoehorned into what was a story that really didn't need built upon. Although, if they port Full Body to PC, click into the Steam library it will go.
@SplooshDmg oh it’s not the story. I don’t like the gameplay.
I have nightmares over the word “Edge”.
@mousieone Indeed, and I can't wait. I think the mere presence of the game on Xbox is a result of last year's poll, in which they gauged their audience's interest in potential future Xbox releases.
I just hope NIS/A, who have stubbornly refused to release on Xbox change their damn minds. Before they swiped Ys from XSEED (and subsequently botched the Ys 8 release), some of the Ys games showed up on Xbox. Now, the franchise does not exist on the platform, and that sucks.
@Royalblues It's true. Last year Nihon Falcom announced some new Trails games as "coming to all platforms", and Xbox was just out in the rain like they forgot it existed. That was a mega oof.
@mousieone See, I love the gameplay too. I played that stupid Rapunzel arcade game in the bar for like 50 hours. I just really need to push blocks. But really, you might like Full Body better, if you haven't tried it already. They changed a lot of mechanics from the original release and it's not quite as rigid as the OG in a lot of ways.
Link is dead. Would have really loved to fill this out.
I hope Soul Hackers 2 will be the start of many more Atlus games, both new and old, releasing on Xbox
@MiGke you might want to check your hair to make sure the joke didn't buzz too close as it flew over your head.
Why is this even a question?
Warning: It is a VERY LONG survey
i would have taken part in this survey but the first question. they wanted me to provide my e-mail address. and i prefer to remain as anonymous as possible
