I’ve played through them all, Vice city was my favorite. It was the last one that didn’t take itself too seriously. Also, 1980s Florida was larger than life- I spent some time in it as a kid and the nostalgia factor here is strong. I would like to see another period piece GTA, but due to the success of GTA online I doubt that will ever happen.

A new Horizon would be fine by me. I’ve always preferred the Horizon series to Motorsport. Japan would be a fun setting, my favorite Horizon cars typically come from the Japanese manufacturers.

I have experienced this as well. Glad it’s not just me. Hopefully they patch it soon.

I am really enjoying the new Series X controller. The D-Pad and the flattened triggers are my favorite updates. I would like to see a future model with the rubber texture like the Elite and some of the special Xbox One controllers, but I actually prefer this to my elite.

@FraserG I’m going with “From Russia with Love” then. Gotta love classic Sean Connery (R.I.P.). I grew up watching all of the Bond films with my Dad who got into the books in the 60s when he was in the Marines. I am excited for a new 007 game while I wait for “No Time to Die”.

@VenomousAlbino I did not know there were Bond games before Golden Eye on N64. I know one came out after.

Did we skip n64 goldeneye because this is the Xbox site? I’ve played a few of the others on this list, but the original was the best.

Cheating to be on top of a leaderboard defeats the purpose of a leaderboard. Side note, Tetris Effect is surprisingly one of my new favorite games. I didn’t think Tetris could surprise me at this point.

I set up gamepass ultimate last night and downloaded Forza Horizon 4 and Gears 5 to my external drive so I can load those on the Series X when it delivers today.

This will be the first time I have skipped a Call of Duty since the Modern Warfare 3 drama. Yuck. I liked last years COD better than what I saw in this beta anyway, I’ll just keep playing that if I get the itch.

This is unfortunate, I was looking forward to the medium. More time to spend with Cyberpunk I suppose.

@graysoncharles like @Senua said, safari doesn't play YouTube in 4k. My iMac is 5k, but Safari doesn’t support VP9 codec. I just switched to Chrome real quick to watch the Digital Foundry breakdown and it looked much better from this close up. Gears 5 should be a great early showcase for the Series X.

@carlos82 I did a little research and it looks like the issue is I am using Safari from my iMac. Thanks for the heads up, Chrome works fine.

It is difficult to appreciate the upgrades in these videos when they play on youtube at 1080p.

@Deadcow Well said. My overtime money let us afford for my wife stay home with our daughter until she went to pre-k. We wouldn’t have made it without it.

I am playing the snes Picross on Switch while watching Lovecraft Country. Also I am switching between Avengers and Star Wars Squadrons on Xbox.

@Deadcow I agree that most of this comes from outside. I have been working in IT for 14 years and there have been times when I have worked 12-16 hour days 7 days a week for 3 weeks straight. Worse when I got into management. Also I live in Pittsburgh which is a steel town, my friends and family in the mill work 12 hour shifts 7 days a week for 6 months at a time sometimes, and that is in front of a giant furnace. As long as these folks are compensated for their time it is their choice to do the work.

@Bobobiwan Yes, like only allow one order per credit card and cross reference that with billing address, name and require the setup of a user account. If quarantine has taught us anything, it is that bots need to go. They are creating artificial shortages in everything.

@VisitingComet1 the PS4/PC/Xbox version is higher resolution/frame rate. The switch does have a nostalgic 2d mode option though that makes the game look like the SNES era rpgs.

@Kefka2589 I am waiting for the Series X to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate and grab DQ11, great game, just couldn't do it on Switch. Ive been a DQ fan since Dragon Warrior on NES

If this means it comes out with the Series X upgrade day one instead of in months that would be very cool. Not sure that is what they meant in the twitter post about the delay, maybe I am just reading into it.

I have a series x pre ordered and prefer xbox gaming, that said- I think the PS5 looks cool. I appreciate the unassuming design of the Series X, it wont stand out in my living room and that is fine by me. However, the PS5 looks like its from the future.

I have purchased every call of duty with the exception of MW3 when they ousted West and Zampella. I am going to skip this one. Holding content back a month is annoying. Holding it back a year for a specific console for no reason other than Sony gave them extra $$ is bull. I don’t even play zombies that much, but the it’s the principle of the matter. That COD $$ will go to cyberpunk for me.

I would like to see Xbox open up compatibility with oculus or Vive. I don’t think they need to build a proprietary headset unless they find a way to do that for a low price.

No Red Ring...... I was burned by the 360 so the quality of the hardware has been great this gen.

This piqued my interest when I saw the list of games optimized at launch. I used to love MAG back on PS3 which had 256 player battles. I would like another large player game like that

@GamingFan4Lyf I agree, the medium is the game I am most looking forward to play specifically on the Series X. This launch is odd with the 0 next-gen-exclusive lineup.

I think the Xbox solution is the simplest. I remember having to open up my ps3 to swap out the hdd on that and it was a pain. The hdd carage screws broke very easily if you weren’t careful.

@IsThatATitleist3 I had considered that. Also, I believe a lot of the improvements this generation will be in places you can’t necessarily show in a trailer. Like larger worlds and better AI. Better frame rates and load times and draw distances don’t play as nicely in a sizzle reel.

It’s very odd that we have not seen gameplay yet. When Xbox One and PS4 were announced we saw gameplay for next gen titles a year before they came out. This has been a strange lead up to launch.

@Nermannn Oculus is owned by Facebook so they won’t be selling (they are worth 800 billion). Htc would be a good buy for them though. The Vive is a very nice headset and Htc is only worth 7.5 billion which is what they bought Bethesda for. Although Valve had a hand in developing the original Vive, I do not believe they own the rights to the subsequent models.

I plan on playing Gears 5 and Avengers on launch day. Then messing around with the backwards compatible games like Red Dead 2 and Sea of Thieves. Maybe a little GTA V. I am really looking forward to Cyberpunk and COD also.

@Sinton I highly recommend Stranded deep. I played it a ton on Xbox before buying it on pc.

I am In the states, and thanks to reading the tips from Pure Xbox I placed a preorder for my series x through Microsoft.com. I went to the local GameStop at 9 am first but they had a sign on the door saying they only had 4 series x available for preorder at 11.

That sucks for all of the final fantasy Xbox fans. I loved the series up through X but after that they lost me. I prefer Dragons Quest these days.

@Tharsman I missed that, that is exactly what it sounds like! That would be bad out the gate. Makes sense now why they would discontinue the Xbox One X and Digital only One S. If this is a budget version of a digital only One X with better specs.

Yeah, I have a XBoneX right now, def going with the series x not s if these are accurate. More future proof, won’t have to upgrade in a year when the higher end games start rolling out.

That could explain why they aren’t hyping the series x as much and also saying all the games work on Xbox one as well. Basically, you can get a Series X at $600 for a premium experience, but it’s not necessary to play all the games for a year or two when the price drops. Not the plan I would go with, but that would explain a lot.

Yeah, if we are to see a November launch they would have to start ramping up the hype sooner rather than later.

I just couldn’t bring myself to do this on my switch. I played the demo and couldn’t ignore the muddy visuals. I am super excited this is coming to Xbox, I will be picking this up day one.

I am pleasantly surprised with what was shown today. I have been concerned with Microsoft’s messaging leading up to this gen, they seemed to be lowering expectations. Today’s event reassured me. I have several games I will be picking up at launch- or maybe just hop on the game pass wagon.

I am cautiously optimistic.
