Dragon’s Crown and Persona 4 Golden.

I could see paying $70 for a game, I’ve paid more for games + expansion packs, but I am not buying a slightly better looking game for $70 when I get the last gen version free on gamepass. Stupid. Also, I think Gamepass is the future, not more expensive games. Who buys movies or music individually anymore? Games are next.

Yeah, this seems terrible. I purchased this game day one thinking I would play it on Xbox one and have it upgraded for the series x on launch day. Instead they pushed the next gen update out to the following year and the current gen version is buggy.

I just grabbed an LG OLED CX 65 inch. Works great with my Series X.

Ghost Recon advanced war fighter was one of my first and favorite 360 games. May scoop that up for nostalgia’s sake.

I have always liked Battlefield. Looking forward to what they have cooked up here.

Horizon 4 because it delivers on so many fronts. I have really been enjoying Wreckfest recently. I downloaded Dirt 4 and have to say I was disappointed.

@BlueOcean Same here. We were a Nintendo house when I was a kid. My dad was a computer engineer and liked the fact that the hardware was technically superior to Sega, but I loved playing Sonic at my cousin’s house. Also I liked Mortal Kombat with all the gore on Sega. Obviously I like Luigi best, I used to play the original SMB on 2 players and kill Mario so I could play as Luigi.

Since the n64/psx era I have owned and enjoyed all the consoles. I always thought the “fanboy” stuff was silly, arguing over which product you purchased somehow making you a superior person. This is also why I enjoy reading PureXbox, Nintendolife and Pushsquare. These are the most mature comment threads in gaming. Not that you don’t enjoy a good joke from time to time

I am all for an upgrade. I've played it extensively as is but I would like a reason to go back.

I have the old xbox 2tb external drive I use to play non-enhanced games on. I look to get the sea gate expansion card if the price ever comes down.

@Nermannn you can use the Dolby atmos for headphones regardless of your tv, however you have to pay $10 I think on the Xbox marketplace for the software and it downloads to your Xbox. I did it and like it. My new tv has atmos built in and I’ve stopped using the surround sound nearly as much since I’ve had it.

I spent the first part of last night playing Sniper 4 to check out the frame rate boost. It’s been a while since I played it, but I thought it was a very good time. Out of curiosity I tried out Wreckfest around 9pm and I absolutely loved it. I began the first event driving in a lawn mower demolition derby which was very fun. Then I settled into the racing and realized it had something I didn’t know I wanted, actual car damage in a racer. It really takes you out of the experience in Forza when you hit a wall doing 100 mph and just get a crack in the windshield. I foresee myself playing this the rest of the weekend.

@Nermannn these are supposed to be super low latency. Also they support Dolby atmos for headphones which is great with shooters that support it, you can tell what direction noises are coming from.

@Jorb-Norb if I didn’t already own the turtle beaches I would get these, they are $50 cheaper.

I currently use a pair of Turtle Beach Stealth 700s with my Xbox. They also pair to my phone and the Xbox at the same time. I use this often to play music while I play Call of Duty, kind of my own custom soundtrack.

I’ve been holding off playing any of these games until the updates go live. Call of Duty Balck Ops CW looks great at 120hz in multiplayer. Literal game changer.

Xbox 360 and Elder Scrolls Oblivion. When I stepped out into that world, it was a game changer.

I have 2 consoles already that play original Xbox games. I probably don’t need a third but I’ll wait for details

Nice! I think they will be ready and fully polished for the fall. Glad they took the extra time to make sure they got it right.

I’m surprised they are surprised. There has never been a better time to release a new console- when the world is stuck in their homes from a pandemic. The only thing I could see negatively impacting the launch is the effect COVID has had on the economy.

This NY Times article is ridiculous. I’m glad it’s being called out for the trash that it is. Kotaku also did a piece on this yesterday. I grew up in the 80s and 90s where parents (not mine) were afraid of video games corrupting their kids. I thought we knew better now. Especially in this unprecedented time of lockdown, what is the kid supposed to do, bounce a ball against the wall?

Call of duty and I tried Grounded on the Xbox series X. It looks amazing.

I would love to see the remade version of the original Final Fantasy. That was always my favorite, I enjoyed being able to build different team combinations.

I liked them all, but the first was groundbreaking for its time.

Halo 3. It felt so epic when it came out. I played through the whole thing the week it came out.

This is unfortunate. After the amazing long-term love and support the Witcher 3 got it is sad to see CP2077 come out the gate such a mess. Based on their past history I imagine they will continue to patch the game until it works properly- but this is why I waited to buy this one.

I picked Dragons Quest which is awesome, but if I’m honest- I had more fun with Stranded Deep then any game in a long time.

@Tasuki I do this now with my series x and Xbox one x. I just set my daughter’s Xbox one x as my “home Xbox” in the settings of her Xbox and on my series x I have access to all my games by being signed into my live account that I subscribe to gamepass ultimate with.

Dragons Quest, Call of Duty and Squadrons.

Oblivion was the first game I bought for my 360. Loved that game, but Skyrim was straight up amazing. I still play it on my Switch.

@GunValkyrie I like to think he is. He’s got a rep of being a really nice and humble guy.

I bought The Witcher 3 day one and ran into some bugs in the first town which prevented me from completing a quest. It was off putting enough that I didn’t play it again for a few months until after it was patched. I will just wait til Cyberpunk gets a few updates under its belt until I buy it. I’m sure it will be included in a sale on the Xbox store around the holidays. I’ve waited this long, what is another month or two.

In 10 years we should be in the next next gen so, yeah. I think it’s 100% possible that games will be photorealistic.

I must say, I am pleasantly surprised by the new controller. I assumed the difference would be negligible, but the new D-Pad is a vast improvement. The flattened front of the triggers is something that I haven’t seen mentioned, but I find to be much more comfortable. The size is smaller which is nice for my daughter, but I have large hands and it isn’t any less comfortable to me than the Xbox One controller.

@Random94 I agree, out of all the updated games I think Forza Horizon 4 looks the best. The reflections are crazy. I’m using a lower end TCL 4K HDR tv right now, I expect to see more of a difference when I upgrade to one of the LG Oleds.

This is why we can’t afford to lose brick and mortar stores. The pandemic has highlighted the fact that scalpers will use bots to create an artificial shortage in anything people find even mildly interesting. No one should have to pay $50 for a pack of toilet paper or $1000 for an Xbox. The retailers could care less because they instantly sell through their stock.

I’ve played through them all, Vice city was my favorite. It was the last one that didn’t take itself too seriously. Also, 1980s Florida was larger than life- I spent some time in it as a kid and the nostalgia factor here is strong. I would like to see another period piece GTA, but due to the success of GTA online I doubt that will ever happen.

A new Horizon would be fine by me. I’ve always preferred the Horizon series to Motorsport. Japan would be a fun setting, my favorite Horizon cars typically come from the Japanese manufacturers.
