You'll still be able to play thousands of backwards compatible games from day one as well, of course, but which of these next-gen optimised titles are you most excited for? We want to know in the giant poll below!
Which Xbox Series X|S Launch Game Are You Most Excited For? (442 votes)
Nothing for me since I won't be getting a Series X until February. Even then, most of the games on this list I have played on Xbox One X and the games I haven't played I am not interested in playing.
The Medium (which isn't on this list since it's not a launch title) is the only Series X game I want right now that won't be available on Xbox One X.
Valhalla is the most exciting but....I'm not buying any games cuz I'll have a ton to play on gamepass first. If they have it in gamepass at launch I'll play it otherwise get in line Vikings...some Romans get priority in Ryse! Will be a used copy purchase down the line most likely.
ACV is well out in front! I voted for it, but it's surprising because it didn't seem to be be bells and whistles (eg ray tracing)
I know graphics aren't everything!
Tetris interests me, but it won't be several hours gameplay, but something to return to every so often.
My other biggy was to be watch dogs, but how is it going to push it with no main character (not that I know of!)
Whatever way, I hope you all enjoy your next xbox come release date peace to you all
Has to be Assassins Creed for me - the only 'New' game release that I want (and will be getting).
I am looking forward to seeing how Gears 5 looks/plays - but have beaten the game so I doubt I will play it all again. I am looking forward to Forza Horizon 4 a LOT more than Dirt 5!! The upgrade sounds like it will blow Dirt 5 away at Native 4k/60 with numerous other visual upgrades too...
Falconeer first. Well outside of anything on Gamepass. My son loves FH4, so we'll be revisiting some racing. Hmm and War Thunder.
Valhalla I am also excited for, but can wait a little while. I feel like I am going to have a enough to do with BC/Xbox One titles to just check out and play.
I did a double-take when I didn't see Cyberpunk 2077, then remembered the full Series X upgrade will arrive later.
As an open world junky, Watch Dogs Legion and AC Valhalla both interest me. But between the two I'm prioritizing Legion because of the Play As Anyone feature. We'll see how much longevity it has.
Gears Tactics for sure but I'll be playing on XB1 given it seems unlikely that more Series X preorders will be made available. It's even completely gone from the Microsoft Store as in not even a listing (the hardware section just has 4 XB1S consoles).
Assassin will be the Big Launch Game Halo failed to become, I presume.
But where is my Avengers ? I know I'm the only one in the entire world who seems to care about this game, but come on ! I've waited on purpose in order to play it directly on next-gen console, so... Where's my update ?
@GamingFan4Lyf I agree, the medium is the game I am most looking forward to play specifically on the Series X. This launch is odd with the 0 next-gen-exclusive lineup.
AC Valhalla for me!!! I’m getting an S so going to try keep buying the big third party games to a minimum until I get a X or PS5. But game pass and backwards compatibility is definitely going to help me out tons with that!
Edit: Bit off topic, I know most are disappointed that Halo isn't here, but for some reason, I always considered Assassins Creed to be an XBox game, not as in exclusive, but in the same way many feel Final Fantasy is a PlayStation game. So, having AC on launch day, for me, is huge, even if it could be played on countess other platforms.
can the mods just go ahead and ban the accounts of the 1% that picked Fortnite? The 99% are offended.
Planet coaster all the way, for me. Followed by either acv or legion. I want to pick yakuza so badly.... But it sounds less tech demo of a new console and more like a game that needs the new console as a crutch to hide how broken it is.
Honestly? None of them. The only one I'll probably be playing, and it only because I already have it, is Horizon 4. I probably won't even be buying a game for my Series X until the Mass Effect collection drops if it does fiscal Q4 2020.
Anything I'm excited for, like Warhammer 40K Darktide and Halo Infinite, are a ways away.
Q) Which of these next-gen optimised titles are you most excited for?
A) For me, it is Bright Memory 1.0, even though it's going to be more of a teaser for when Bright Memory Infinite comes out. I've heard it's short so it'll be nice to have a game I can actually complete.
I'm sure I'll be having fun with Yakuza: Like A Dragon as well, but I don't have a great track record getting to the end of such lengthy games. So yeah, for me at launch it'll be those two games and they should satisfy me for the couple months that will remain of 2020 when I pick up my Xbox Series X. I may also try out a few backwards compatible games as well... unsure which ones... maybe ReCore, Code Vein and Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.

VALHALLA!!!
100% on this day one. It looks awesome.
Watch Dogs: Legion for me!

Making me pick between Gears Tactics and Yakuza not fair.

Yakuza Like a Dragon (who knew?)

It's not listed and I understand it's not a release title but cyberpunk baby. No I will probably pre-order the digital version of Valhalla today
@Darylb88 is like a dragon a tatics like game?

Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
Also: who picked Fortnite? Own up.
ACV all the way the first game I’m downloading on the series x day one, going digital with this one as it’s a long running game for me.

This should had been a pick 3, if most of the games are to ever get a chance to shine.
I will play Vallhala first, but I placed digital preorders (a first) for:
Vallhala
Watch dogs legion
Yakuza 7
Observer Sys Redux

None of the games are new IP, so don’t really interest me.
@S1ayeR74 The Falconeer is new o.O
@S1ayeR74 you’ll get the Medium and Immortals Fenix Rising in December, so maybe it’d be best to wait a bit if that’s what you’re looking for!
Immortals strikes me as "assassin's creed for kids". I want to be proven wrong but nothing about it seems particularly interesting.
And this is coming from someone buying a launch ps5 because it's worth it for sack boy and ratchet exclusively....
@NEStalgia maybe I actually got the ACxBotW baby vibes more. I hate the name though.

Cyberpunk 2077!
Starting off by checking some bc games for improvements like fallen order & the new star wars starfighter game & Gears tactics. After that Cyberpunk!
For me it's Star Wars: Squadrons
It's already lying on my shelf, just waiting to get sucked into my brand new Series X come November 10th.
Ori Will of the Wisps for me! Can't wait for that 4K 120fps 😍
