We first heard about Xbox Series X/S console exclusive Scorn all the way back in May, but now courtesy of GameSpot, we can get a first look at 13 minutes of its grotesque, unsettling gameplay.
The game is set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and sombre tapestry, taking visual inspiration from Swiss painter H.R. Giger and Polish painter Zdzislaw Beksinski. Its development began with a very small team back in 2014, and it received its first teaser trailer a couple of years later in 2016.
According to GameSpot, Scorn is currently planned for release "sometime in 2021", and the video you see above is a "near-final look" at the game. Oh, and it's coming to Xbox Game Pass as well!
Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion. Every location contains its own theme, puzzles and characters that are integral in creating a cohesive world.
Is this Scorn gameplay footage living up to your expectations? Let us know in the comments.

Really looking forward to this!!! I am a big fan of Giger and really excited when I heard this was coming to the Xbox. I was disappointed after the first reveal to find out it was PC only and can't wait...
This excited me more than the Medium...
Looks decent. I was curious about it when they showed the tech demo reveal of it originally. But now it has a decent showing, gameplay etc
I'll pick it up on PC to avoid those obvious (in production) frame rate issues.
Creepy ass game, will be great for lights off night gaming.
This has been in my radar for so long. I'm so happy it's getting a console release. Definitely my cup of tea
Will def play it
Day one for me horror my favourite genre and had a lucky escape not picking up Amnesia Rebirth.
Looks like a 60 rated game.
I am very excited for this game. I love horror games.
@Medic_Alert I agree, this is not my cup of tea. I do respect the art though - very detailed. Kind of reminds me of an old Tool music video.
Graphics look great..
@BAMozzy I agree: We NEED true heart pacing (or stopping) horror games now!!! Giger was a genius also!!
Really visually boring here in terms of colour. Hope there's more to the game in this respect than varying shades of brown and red.
Good looking game, but lacks any real ray tracing and has major frame rate drops! Not a good showing for the Series X. Let’s hope they can improve it before launch.
maybe just me but I couldn't get through the 13 minutes as it was quite boring. Don't know why but it felt like it was running on a last gen console and plodded along with everything done in slow motion. Probably deliberate to add tension but it didn't excite me from this video.
Graphically it seemed okay but just didn't click for me which is odd because it gives a bit of a Silent Hills vibe (dark gruesome corridors, slow walking pace) and I've been crying out for a Silent Hill game for ages.
I thought it looked interesting. I don’t mind the slower FPS pace. It reminded me of the original prey for some reason and Prometheus mashed together.
It’ll be on gamepass so definitely worth a try I reckon.
Graphics look as expected seen as it started years and years ago, added some nice touches though
Looks great! Hope MS releases a dongle like the chromecast so we can plug and play on TVs everywhere. Would be awesome!
