Is this game actually live yet I thought it was in open Beta? Seems weird they are adding packs.

@magicismoney I think it will be 4K60 for performance which will match H4 and the graphics mode will be 4K30 but with more graphics

@The_New_Butler you're right, if you look at whats being done with Forza Motorsport that is some true next gen engine being built that will probably look slightly better than FM7 does on the Series X(those games have always been fairly bland and sim like visually anyway).

Thought about picking this up with my rewards credit glad I didn’t now! I’ve only recently started Doom Eternal so seems like too similar of a game(that was never going to live up to id’s god tier FPS with or without performance issues!) to pick up.

@xMightyMatt14x ah ok I’m new to the idea of a game getting years of open beta testing and getting designed around feedback. I know Minecraft did a similar thing though

So does this ever get an actual release? Or is it just a sandbox for the devs to try things out?

@Senua has to be if they are debuting on this and not their own showcase.

@uptownsoul they need to stagger there devs to give them a bit steady flow of games. With these 5 plus Halo, Forza M, Avowed, Hellblade 2, Starfield the other devs are probably too early on to anounce anything. I do hope for lot of exclusives/partnerships and ID@Xbox announcements.

Yup gonna be 3+4 fine by me the idea of playing a THPS is pure nostalgia.

Will keep an eye on this to see how it runs with RT on. If it’s still 30 or will see an increase.

Looking forward to this but likewise will add this to my Next Gen upgrade list and plough through the backlog.

It’s a complete scatter gun approach, just say lots of things about games and some of them will be right. Get enough right and you’re an insider.

Always happy to see a new Rare IP. Interesting point on the timing, if it has been in the works for a while it would contradict the rumour its years away(although like all things Covid means it wont be this year).

Seems a no brainer for Valve and MS to work together. Steam getting Forza H4 worked out well for everyone presumably other MS releases are and will be available for PC players. Following on from that it makes sense to make that a two way street and put some Valve games onto Xbox, the question is what? Unless theyre doing a new Counter Strike or HL3 or releasing Dota on Consoles, they only really do VR.

@blinx01 yeah agree with that lineup, MS has made great strides in improving their service and the platform as a whole. What they need now is the games to go with it, I think they need at least some sort of 1st party or exclusive game a month up until Christmas.
That could include things like Psychonauts 2 as they own the studio now, and things like Flight Sim too.

A game of that size has to be top drawer, like BotW or Witcher 3 levels of good to keep my attention for that long.
As an aside Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a game that kept my attention for a similar amount of time for those on the fence.

@Chaudy you’re not the only one, I hated it! Found the game and the story really dull. For me it didn’t do anything that the force unleashed or Jedi Knight games do better. Unless you really like side stepping through gaps.

Smart, obviously not aimed at people who frequent this site but a box that can play Fortnite(and other freemium games) at 120fps for free is a big plus. As well as a gateway to playing proper games.

I look forward to the PR challenge where you have to jump over border walls!

This game was my go to in the first lockdown managed to put a lot of hours into this on the Switch. I won’t play it on Xbox unless by some miracle there is some cross platform support and I can transfer my save. But it’s great others get to play it.

I wouldnt want to use it long term but its a great feature to have. What I really like is if you have a timed event and are away from your xbox you can still take part. Its not supported yet but Im thinking FH4 and you need to complete or claim something before the seasons change, you can do so remotely(I say this as someone who's been 2/3 of the way through a seasonal championship and away from my xbox during a season change!).

@Xeno_Aura I missed last generation and got back into gaming via the Switch when deciding between the 2 next gen consoles Game Pass was the decider as it has afforded me the opportunity to play most of what I want from last gen(apart from some Sony exclusives).

@blinx01 Yeah what I was thinking, but it depends if they are remodelling all of the cars and how access to said cars has been hampered by Covid. I'm sure I read they are focusing on a lot of that for it to be truly next gen. I wonder if they are doing these playtests(with limited tracks and cars) to perfect the game engine.

I assume those doing playtests have NDAs so no Youtube or Twitch videos?

I still dont see Horizon 5 being before Motorsport, unless it using 4s Engine and MS8 will be the launch of a next gen only one.

I'd love to see xCloud on Switch. But I dont see what benefit that gives Nintendo.

They should simplify the offering. Live Gold for those who don’t want games(online only) and then a single gamepass sub. I always pick up the free game with gold but rarely play, they could just as easily add these games to GPU.

A for the games but it was an F for length and pacing. 30 minute vid with a bunch of pre recorded YouTube clips to follow up would have been perfect.

Resi 2, I think my Uncle had it before I did. But I remember seeing it on his and thinking it was amazing. I got it for PS1 and was rubbish at it, never completed the original but did finish the remake once I got my Series X!

@Thaliard this is right, provided they dont shrink the games down to get you to buy DLC I'm comfortable with this model. For example I happily bought the DLC for Horizon 4 before I even got my Series console knowing I'd want it but the model wouldnt work if a new Horizon only got 50 cars and the other 600 odd are behind a pay wall.

Pretty sure Nintendo Network is being phased out. You can link your NNID to your Switch but it’s all but obsolete at this point. It’s replaced by Nintendo Switch Online.
Anyway it would make sense in some ways to phase out Gold. Unlike the debacle of the XB1 launch the Gold price increase is the only misstep in this launch cycle. Would undo that to give it away for free.

Another who remembers Mech Warrior 2 on the PC, it doesn’t look the visual spectacle I remember it being though.

@StonyKL they seem pretty confident with Halo. Same with R&C and Deathloop. But beyond that there are a lot of unknowns until the platforms start officially announcing. A lot of TBC on both release schedules!

@Syndrome ideally they would but contract negotiations take time and ironically how they compensate(or otherwise placate) those who’ve pre ordered would be one of the points they’d need to agree on.
Likewise I’m in the wouldnt buy full price but enjoyed the demo camp, so am hopeful this is what it is.

@Syndrome the clue seems too nailed on not to be Outriders. I’m not sure if I’d preordered and could get it for free instead I’d be outraged.
It’s an online service game so don’t think Square Enix would be adverse to MS chucking a few $ at them to get it on GP and SE will still make money off of the online micro transactions

Has to be outriders, mystery signal and anomaly both referred to in the demo. Also one of the first big multi platform releases of the year coming to GPU on release.

@FraserG fair enough, after poor showings from Nintendo and Sony it makes sense to wait!

@Dezzy70 I think Halo will wait for E3 season and keep the monthly updates. I think Forza 8 will drop before Horizon I know there is a rumour its incoming but Playground have a team working on Fable, and you have to assume there is some shared dev resource there. But I am hopeful FM8 is a 2021 release.
@FraserG Wasn’t the no reveal statement around the Bethesda one just gone? Not saying we shouldn’t temper expectations, we are still in a pandemic(Even if we are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel) and MS should be smart and not over promise games if there is a chance of delay. June seems like a sensible time to be confident a game will hit a release date later in the year.

I think it was pretty clear unless they have a contractual obligation to release it on PS5 it will be exclusive.

Always felt like this would be worthy of a modern reboot all SoR4 and BattleToads. Looks really appealing.

@Krzzystuff Most likely yes, but we can hope they add something new too generate a little buzz. The game pass additions are more likely and something to tide over us early adopters.

Am still hopeful there will be some announcements/footage of new games. But happy with a mass addition of Bethesda games onto GPU.
