Minecraft Dungeons is one of the 50+ games that have received bespoke touch controls for Xbox Game Pass via Xbox Cloud Gaming so far, and according to Mojang Studios, the addition has gone down really well.
Speaking to Windows Central, Mojang executive producer David Nisshagen explained that around 40% of players that are playing Minecraft Dungeons via Xbox Cloud Gaming are using touch controls exclusively:
"That's 40% of players who never have to touch a controller. I was like, that's a dream number. That was above the goal we set for ourselves."
Nisshagen highlighted that Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and Tell Me Why have both also seen similar numbers since adding touch controls, and the best part is that adding these controls is actually very easy for a developer:
"This was so easy to do, and so pleasant to work with this team. Truly, this is one of the best collaborations I've had the pleasure of working towards. We were fully supported, and fully understood. It felt like we were working with a game team, although they are, at their heart, providing and expanding the streaming service."
So there you go! Touch controls are evidently providing popular with Xbox Cloud Gaming already, and we're willing to bet the initial 50+ games are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what's to come over the next 12 months and beyond.

I wouldnt want to use it long term but its a great feature to have. What I really like is if you have a timed event and are away from your xbox you can still take part. Its not supported yet but Im thinking FH4 and you need to complete or claim something before the seasons change, you can do so remotely(I say this as someone who's been 2/3 of the way through a seasonal championship and away from my xbox during a season change!).
I think if they ultimately want to crack that mobile/tablet market, touch controls are the way forward.
Some games are really suited to them. Minecraft Dungeons and most top down games being perfect.
I did try Sea of Thieves with touch controls, but that was a nightmare for me.
