@BBB yeah the console version is years out of date at this point. Crazy if we dont get an update at this show.

@BAMozzy yup like last year I expect it to be a mix of both. and deep dive into whatever they announce on or around the SGF on Thursday.

Can we have some games for the current models first? I get why they’ve done it in the past, but I don’t feel like we’ve scratched the surface of what these consoles can do yet.

@TheSilverFalcon they won’t put GRID and Burnout on ice permanently but if they’ve got all of those games in development they need to put something on pause!

Trying to keep my expectations low, there’s so much potential but they need a strong list of coming 2023 games to make up for the drout so far this year.
Forza as well as Starfield and Redfall would be strong end but unless they are shadow dropping redfall it’s all going to be last quarter releases.

@CrazyJF most have other projects that will possibly(likely in some cases) be seen. The Coalition have another smaller project, Obsidian have Grounded, Avowed and Pentiment, Playground will show FH5 DLC.

(Re)-confirmed release dates for Redfall and Starfield in 2022.
Forza Motorsport 8 release date/window(rumours for 2022 but Im not convinced).
Also details on the FH5 DLC with the first pack stealth dropped.
Deathloop+DLC day one(+1year) on GPU
FF7 Remake on Game Pass
I'd say one other surprise for 2022 release, just not sure what!
Halo campaign pt2 announced
The rest will either be cinematics or gameplay for games in 2023 or indie games in '22(although at least 3 I'm aware of have Ukraine war related delays)

@Pigrotto I'm not on the whole but it depends on how they execute it. Either of those in a big open space with fun mechanics that dont feel like you are being ripped off could be great. Although it would be ideal for us a straight remake wouldnt find much of a market.

Needs to be furrier

Microsoft as a whole make up a far bigger portion of chip usage than Sony. Part of my job involves procurement of server hardware and we are seeing 3-6 month delays because when MS or Amazon start placing orders for expanding their cloud infrastructure your order gets dropped like hot cakes.

@LifelessLimey made MS a ton of money on merch and microtransactions! Very little on the game itself though.

Gamepass only works for MS because they can cover their losses(and it is helped by their owning a cloud platform).
Also Sony focus on more big budget single player games which don’t add up on a subscription as it’s a one and done deal not a service with revenue streams like Forza, Halo or Flight Sim.
That’s not to say either are wrong just both offer different things the plus is both are now sharing more of their back catalogue.

Great news, but will hold off for v2 and full game pass support. At that point it would replace my Series X.

I’ve owned/bought this game 3 times now including the series X version. Still have only got about 10% of the way through!
I had it on PS3 and the load times drove me mad so binned it off. Got the xb1 version on sale for a fiver thinking it might have an upgrade path and now bought the SX version which will be the one I will finish(hopefully).

My thought was this would be the rumoured streaming stick.
As in it would be the "key" to unlocking game pass to the masses.

@LtSarge GT5&6 are by far the low point of the series. 1-4 were revolutionary at the time, then they seemed to hit a slump and then brought it back. 7 is fantastic true return to form imho. Hopefully FM8 pushes the boundaries even further.

Everything I have on PS5 is physical whereas while I have some physical games on Xbox most are digital(mix of game pass and digital purchase).

@SecretAgentCat I genuinely believe this is MS end game. Move Game Pass and Xbox studios to multi platform and stop making consoles. They only make other devices like laptops out of necessity their core business is software and services at the end of the day.

@MaccaMUFC Driving games suffer with music and vehicle licensing but would love to see PGR(although I still own all 4!). Forza Horizon would make sense though they just couldnt necessarily have all of the cars or songs the originals had, I think eventually MS will have a fair few key franchises consolidated in this way my guess would be Gears next.

@FraserG no offense taken, I just thought it was funny as they debated the newsworthiness of it getting re-reported (I finished listen to it barely 2 hours ago so it was fresh in the memory). Oddly enough I think Jez is dead wrong on this, the most Apple will do is bolster Apple TV for their Arcade service.

This should be what Killer Instinct 2 is. They had a few guest characters expand that out with activision and zenimax ip and more halo/GoW characters.

I mean if they are entering the market they’re not going to aim to be third best. I don’t see it though unless they can come up with some better streaming tech.

He wont stay until June 23(the date he used in his statement which is MS financial year end), smart money would be on Mike Ybarra stepping in, in the short term.

Its a shame but it was probably inevitable once the likes of Sony and EA stopped going. As long as Sony, MS and Nintendo have their own show around the same time there isnt much difference.

@UltimateOtaku91 never was my thing but I'm glad for those who like them. Just hope they add some good single player games too. Hopefully something like Dying Light 2

I change between Psychonauts, Halo and FH5. So I alternate each time I see one of these polls!

Football Manager if I play on my iPad is like having the game off the iOS store except I can cloud save with PC and Xbox. As you don’t need to replicate a cursor and can just touch the relevant buttons it’s really well done. I hope they do something with other strategy type games.
It was really well executed on Minecraft dungeons too but I only played that to get some reward points

@chicken_chaser I have a fools hope that Avowed will be 2022. The leaked clips seem pretty good(and were an old build when they leaked). I think that could flesh out MS 2022 offering and would be 4 big exclusives along with Stalker, Redfall and Starfield.

@Alduin only thing I can see is maybe a bit earlier as the first few months of the year are pretty quiet, and GP could do with a few good 3rd party releases like that.

@SpaceSamurai I think this is what we should hope for. Not Halo infinite or any of next year and beyond’s releases but things that benefit Game Pass but keep the focus on the Xbox brand(so not something like Ubisoft Connect either).

@themightyant I don’t think it’s an unreasonable hope. It’s exactly the sort of thing I’d expect to be announced for the 20th anniversary stream more so than new games or new footage(other than the Halo rumour).

Console and controller look good, case is gaudi but that is the Gucci style. If you can afford it, it’s the ultimate flex if you’re a collector.

I agree though regardless of if you’re a fan of racing games, it’s likely going to be the highest rated new release this year and probably the most played new game. But as it’s not the right genre I could see it getting overlooked.

Isnt this the same Square Enix that threw People Can Fly under the bus when Outriders didnt hit their sales targets because they put it on Game Pass? Now they seem to be doing the same with CD. I wonder if SE have given up on western developers?

@SacredPYRO me too, I see this as a bit of a swansong for the series while it takes a break so Playground can focus on Fable. It didnt need to do anything radical as they have already perfected the genre.
The love and care put into it is similar to something like Smash Bros Ultimate another series that has reached its pinnacle and will take a break.

@Krysus it’s a PC game at heart, it’s no bad thing they focused on making it perfect on that platform before making it work on console.

Yeah I think they wanted to perfect it on its native platform rather than constrain themselves to having to make it work on console(more specifically work with a controller) day one.

I’ll play San Andreas on GP then wait for the inevitable price drop on the physical game and pick that up later.

@Dezzy70 GTA V has been off an on for years I’d expect something similar here.
