After being rated for Xbox Series X in Germany last month, the team over at StarWars.com has announced today that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is officially getting a free upgrade for all next-gen consoles this summer.
No details have been announced as of yet, but we're assuming EA will provide more information soon. The next-gen version is said to "bring a number of technical improvements" to the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions.
"Coming this summer, we’re excited to announce the next-gen release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, bringing a number of technical improvements to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S console versions of the game. This will be a free cross-generation upgrade to current owners."
Previously, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order did receive a performance patch which brought the game up to a higher dynamic resolution and frame rate, but the game has still been running via backwards compatibility up until now.
In addition, it's been revealed that a massive Star Wars sale will be taking place on Xbox starting tomorrow and running through Tuesday, May 4th. So, if you've been holding out for some Star Wars games, maybe wait until tomorrow!

Was a fantastic game but i really don't see myself replaying it. Game time is to limited to replay games
Lightsabers, in most games, are just merely neon-colored clubs.
Too bad i already 100% completed this game and have no reason to replay it. It was really good and in enjoyed it a lot though!
This makes me glad I haven’t played it yet
Niice.. ya I've been holding off on this game to get the full next gen treatment. Better still be on GamePass
I'm probably one of the few people who didn't like the game. I hated the backtracking and wasn't fan of the platforming mechanisms either. Story was quite boring too.
shouldnt they really be working on the second one by now rather than keep redoing the first one
@Chaudy you’re not the only one, I hated it! Found the game and the story really dull. For me it didn’t do anything that the force unleashed or Jedi Knight games do better. Unless you really like side stepping through gaps.
@JoakimZ i was happy that i played it for the first time post the 60 FPS patch...clearly you win
Cool - I started playing this and never got round to finishing it - will be a Great reason to revisit and finish this...
The game looked spectacular and was awesome for a SW game. But the story and characters didn't totally connect with me
That's great news. I started into it recently, tabled it for The Show which I rapidly tired of, went back to the third Fenyx DLC for now (which is brutal on nightmare, and even on hard.)
Might as well hold off for the update! The high res mode was pretty but the framerate was too terrible for the type of game it is. The fps mode was better but the res and textures get kind of poor looking. And the load times made dying really punishing. I'll be happy to properly play it with a next gen patch.
Glad I haven't played it yet. Will hold until this summer to play on Series X
