Forza Horizon 5 is the hot topic at the moment, even though it hasn't actually been officially announced yet! The latest speculation is centred around its location, which according to some teases, might be Mexico.
Xbox fans have picked up on a few cryptic tweets from insiders recently, such as Windows Central's Jez Corden, VentureBeat's Jeff Grubb and Xbox community member Klobrille, all appearing to hint at the fact:

Last week, it was suggested by VentureBeat's Jeff Grubb that Forza Horizon 5 wasn't going to be located in Japan as previously rumoured, but no further details on the game were provided at the time.
There does still seem to be a confidence that we're going to see the game this year though, despite it not even having been revealed yet, and the belief is that it will likely show up at E3 in a couple of months' time. We'll see!
What are your thoughts on Forza Horizon 5 being set in Mexico? Let us know down below.

My only concern with that would be the lack of seasons, which I feel added a lot to FH4.
@Arcnail Yeh, that's my only reservation, beacuse it basically means you will only get two types of seasons: wet & dry.
Still, there should be a nice contrast between urban & rural areas.
@Arcnail
Yeah, although I felt that was more a feature of showing the character of the UK more than anything else.
Ya.. maybe it's just nitpicking.. I'm sure it'll be awesome.
Hola México!
I can imagine there will be different types of terrains to explore off-roading. Also since Forza is really huge there it will work out pretty great.
I look forward to the PR challenge where you have to jump over border walls!
This is a shame. There is nothing wrong with Mexico but we’ve already had a desert-kind-of country with Australia. Plus Mexico is hardly the sort of country one associates with motorsports.
Colorado has Pikes Peak, Italy has the Gran Turismo and an esteemed automotive heritage. Australia is big in Rally and F1 and the UK has more heritage and Top Gear.
The tuner culture of Japan seems ripe for a Horizon Festival.
@RadioHedgeFund i agree Japan seemed like an obvious choice even before looking at trying to entice the Japanese market to Xbox. The car culture, variety of regions and colossal downhill mountain runs was just a shoe in. I'm almost certain I'll enjoy whatever they make but Japan will hopefully be the location of the next one if this one will be Mexico
I would think Brazil would be a better choice then Mexico. Nothing wrong with Mexico but as Latin American countries go I associate Brazil with racing more then Mexico. Also they already had a game in North America the original Forza Horizon and haven't had one in South America yet. But then again they had two games in Europe already.
It should be Japan
@RadioHedgeFund I mean there is the Baja 500 and 1000 - those could be pretty great inclusions
@RadioHedgeFund you know only some parts in the North of Mexico are a desert. The country is actually quite full of different ecosystems. It’s not like it is a big Tatooine- like country with a bunch of people in sombreros.

Mexico does have a lot of interesting geography to cover; however, It does not have a huge back catalogue of famous racing cars produced there. I think Japan would make the most sense.
So, is there going to be some cartel-related DLC, then? With timed races/objective-based races across secret plantations and hideouts...
@RadioHedgeFund That's a really poor argument to be honest. Forza Horizon games are mainly set in locations that could be fun to drive on, and never really about the "Car Heritage" the location has. By that logic, Mexico and Australia are kind of similar in that they both have mainly big Rally locations, but beyond it that's it in terms of racing. And neither of the two countries are really famous for their car history. And yet, they are both popular tourist destinations because of how gorgeous they both are from a ecology and fauna standpoint.
And lets not forget Mexico is far more than just Deserts, given a large part of it is covered in Mountainous regions and Greenery, and which could be equally fun to drive in.
Also @Luigi_Skywalker, Did Australia (Forza Horizon 3) have a huge back catalog of famous racing cars produced there? No, right?
