Console=all the games
Ultimate=both

Doesn’t seem that difficult, not everyone needs all the games and not everyone plays online.
If I didn’t have cheap sub prepaid for months I’d be on console.

@OrfeasDourvas they are negotiating. I get its frustrating but its not feasible for them to reach a resolution in 5 days.

But looking at the list it looks like things that could all run in your browser. Maybe that's what they're doing and presenting a front end for consles?

Seems most or all of those games you could download the whole thing using less data than it would take to stream these games for an hour.
A quick google has Double Dragon 2 at being around 257kb for the NES ROM which is about 3 seconds of streaming video at a low bitrate.

What I’d love is a mobile/tablet app that you can use to customise your cars for Forza on consoles. Back in the 360 days there was quite a community on ForzaMotorsport.net but you could achieve a lot more with something more tactile than a console.

@Tharsman same here! I remember everyone clutching at their pearls about these so called video nasties it only made us want to watch them more!

If I was them, I wouldnt bring up Redfall at all. Maybe if they are doing the extended showcase with Parris Lilly again they could do a bit on there, but they need to generate some positivity and reminding everyone how bad Redfall flopped wouldnt help.

@MattT3142 I think it needs a sequel at this point.
It should be MS' answer to smash bros where they use all of their IP as a means of propping up the original KI ones. Keep it running as a live service and add new characters as time goes on(and as they acquire more devs)

@Cherip-the-Ripper it makes me think Hellblade is going to feature prominently at the showcase and could be another release for 2023

@BBB agreed, would be happy with all real life locales. But a few more obscure ones along with F1 level tracks would be great. Thinking outside the UK I think most people only know of somewhere like Laguna Seca was because it appeared in GT and Forza. There must be others that are still a bit obscure in the US.

@GuyinPA75 theyre both doing it. MS just played the game better(assuming it all goes through).

@uptownsoul They said they weren't raising the price any time soon but some day they will I'm sure. In the shorter term closing the Gold to GPU loophole will see a larger return for them.

@trev666 yeah I know this is an Xbox site but the idea of being a potential GOTY contender was cherry picked a little bit from the overall response. But that being said I’m looking forward to it more based off of these remarks.

@Total_Weirdo why not let WB Montreal have a crack at live service and leave Rocksteady alone to make the single player Bat-game. Instead they ended up with 2 bad games.

@BrilliantBill dont get me wrong Forza is one of my favourite and most anticipated games. Its nothing to do with a perception of MS having Halo/GoW/Forza only.
The point was if the latter half of this year is 2 games they previously had in their coming in the next 12 months showcase(one of which in turn having had several delays) it is a bad look for them after a nothing 2022.

They need something else this year imo, if the second half of 23 is Starfield and Forza that is a bit disappointing. Or at the very least indicative they were relying on having CoD on Gamepass this year.

@Tharsman you can give them a pass on that I think. If its a first party brand I can see why they would want to lock it to their home system.

@Cherip-the-Ripper i think more than anything it’s them hate keeping a current gen upgrade behind a full price price tag that seems a bit of a con. Not helped that as it’s obsidian it’s seen as a 1st party game(although it’s still published by Private Division so it’s not technically)

Don’t mind the DLC being a paid add on. But it will be a bit ***** if they don’t give you the base game optimised for Series consoles.

It's not really original but I'm always delighted for more content. A bit like FH1 Rally is such a natural fit I suppose.

@BBB im pretty sure he said in the stream you can do the whole DLC as road races rather than rally rules

@Deljo but that is the format? Fewer games with more time. I'd say what they need is to make these regular events so we can see more of what theyre up to.

@PhileasFragg yeah hopefully its consistent with the Forza Deluxe and is an all in price for a named number of DLC packs + all content.

@PhileasFragg I think that would be 80eur inclusive of all of the extras as its the deluxe version, assuming they follow the forza Horizon model.
It's a first party game so unlikely to leave anytime soon unless there are rights issues, and even then they usually sell it dirt cheap directly before it is removed. This is what they did with Forza previously, when the rights for the cars and/or music expire they announce it is leaving game pass and sell the Ultimate pack cheaply(I think I paid around £6 for it) in the month or so before it goes.

Slightly poor timing alongside their mass layoffs, they really need a distraction from that. A banger of a direct would go a long way to helping put minds at ease but it sounds like we’re not getting any big shocks.

@Krzzystuff agree on everything you said. It entirely defeats the objective of focusing on the next 12 months if your tent pole 1st party title is delayed again.
But in real terms it doesn’t matter 1sr half of 2023 is rammed so it doesn’t matter.

It seems inevitable that GPU will get a price increase at some point once it is more viable, a good trade off would be to get rid of gwg and make Xbox live free.

As well as needing to publicise what is coming in 2023 and beyond, MS has a really bad track record with marketing. They should be pushing the games they do have even if it is a bit weak right now. Additions to gamepass should be publicised everywhere, same with making things like ID@Xbox more accessible. Not just for people like us who frequent pure xbox, ign, kinda funny etc but let the masses know about exclusive or AAA games on Xbox.

MS’ lawyers have earned their fee with how they’ve positioned this. They have the biggest install bases in PC and Nintendo onboard, it now makes Sony the outlier not willing to negotiate.

@Lup or indeed why they post a rivals numbers but not their own. Seems very snide from Sony.

@FraserG it was just an upgrade when they went from standard to game of the year edition.

@Kaloudz yeah pretty much, not necessarily a good thing as it limits the number of games we get. But then Forza provides so much of my racing needs I find I don’t play them even when they’re on gamepass.

@Kaloudz I don’t think so but EA bought up codemasters which basically gave them slightly mad who made project cars. Because of this purchase they also have NFS, Burnout, Grid, Dirt and F1. They can’t keep all of them active (Burnout is effectively dead at this point too) and PC it seemed like the obvious choice to can.

I hope its next year but their staff's safety is more important and a valid reason to wait longer.

I think Hellblade 2, contraband and maybe Avowed have a chance. As e3 was all about up to June 23 I’m hoping the game awards see a couple of the games in the article with late 2023 dates on them.
Couple that with the Activision buyout it could be a massive year.

@Kaloudz the big 3 coming early next year Starfield, Forza and Redfall will get new trailers. Deathloop seems likely to get announced but that could be today.

@NEStalgia I think Logitech(in partnership with Tencent) are making exactly what you described. Although I dont see the appeal for most people in having another device just for cloud gaming, I think a smartphone is so ubiquitous to most people an add on makes more sense than spending 00's on a whole device. But I'm sure there's a niche for it.

Voted Horizon, but loved PGR and would love to see it make a comeback (or rebrand it as "Forza Urban"). The one unique thing it had was the garage's where you could store your cars and take photos etc, given how every game has a photo mode nowadays it amazes me no one has copied it.

@Bleachedsmiles I think if they are confident with the first half of 23 by Christmas time the Game Awards is the time to start showing sneak peaks of new games for the latter half of the year. Maybe a date for Stalker 2(thatll be a feel good thing after what the devs have been through) and Hellblade as that was at TGAs last year. Then the other big hitters for June next year fingers crossed for Avowed as I think that could be a banger.

Streaming only for BT Sport as LG doesnt have rights to the app on my smart tv.
Other than that only the odd time I've watched a movie on DVD/BD
Everything else tis far more intuitive to do it through Sky or more TV.

@TheGrizMan totally agree I love PGR and both Forza incarnations. I’d be overjoyed if the former returned or they made it as “Forza Gotham” but Horizon is superb and there’s more than enough room for all 3 within Xbox without chipping at the others.

@Microbius its the first game i've played in a while that I can cope with the 30fps(apart from on the Switch). But it does seem a small task to unlock the frame rate.

@Kopite yeah definitely the best new reveal from the showcase.

@Kooky_Daisuke it is likely we will end up with a performance RT mode, other games have it. This is a new engine built for next gen so should utilise the power of the device more. Hopefully it can use things like VRR as well so you may even see a higher than 30 frame rate on graphics mode.

If there was a dev to do it, I'd love a third spoke on the wheel of Forza that was centered around urban racing like Horizon each in a host city. In effect it becomes the true successor to PGR, but with some modern additions like using some of the real time weather effects as seen in MSFS, or even utilise real time data on the city itself and allow the city to change over time. It also has the benefit of putting the other games on a longer dev cycle so each being released feels like more of an event.
Im more pumped for FM8 as it has had a bit of a longer rest period, the gap between 7&8 will be roughly the same as the gap between 4&7!

@Bleachedsmiles I'm surprised they are releasing a game from a Russian dev. Possible PR nightmare with that and replaced.
