Seems to be a lot of people overly worried about these numbers. It's still growth and ahead of what could be potentially be a massive holiday season for them. Provided you can get a Series console!

@Magabro I wasn't talking in terms of play style. More its position beat em up as a service with characters from external IP becoming available.

@Kalvort this should be MS' version of Smash Bros leaning heavily on their FPS/RPG/fantasy IP(especially now they own Bethesda). They had the likes of the Arbiter , General RAAM and Battletoads before if they add in Master Chief, Doom Guy, Marcus Fenix etc it all fits pretty well into their userbase.
The last one was also mechanically a very good beat em up as well so it only works if you put the effort in.

Pretty poor error on their part. You’d hope a major multi national would do more proof reading.
I wasn’t expecting Fable 4 but it did read like a new remaster of an older game. Probably 2 as it appears it’s release anniversary is this week

Just finished Avengers main story and now going back to finish Halo 4 as well as picking up a few more achievements in Forza Horizon 4

As it’s bounty themed is this not going to be Star Wars hunters for the switch?

@Tasuki I’m sure an early rumour was this would run on Unreal. Not sure what engine the mobile version had.

All in all I want to get this but won’t if it’s not worth it and most likely will get it for the switch.

@Widey85 yup bit like the European Super League over the summer, who do you prefer greedy clubs trying to create a closed shop or greedy UEFA who've been on the take for years.

Or reading between the lines, EA think as they have an effective monopoly on Football games they will be fine without hte FIFA branding so they can renegotiate the naming rights at a lower price

@Dad I believe it’s a one year exclusive for seagate. Which is why we’re seeing rumours of new models. But if you look at the price of a compatible 1tb nvme plus this adapter its not a huge saving. These drives are just expensive especially with the chip shortage

@RavenWolfe81 yeah sale or Game Pass and I'll play. It does seem like a rinse and repeat of previous titles which Ubisoft are known for. Too much else going on too buy day one.

@TJ81 mine(LG CX) does show the DV/HDR logo. It worked with MSFS for me right away. Maybe needs a reboot after the update or quit out hte game and reload might be a quick resume thing.

Played MSFS last night and it looked fantastic. I also played THPS1+2 and MK11 both of which flagged as Dolby Vision(where as Forza Horizon 4 does not) and they both looked better than with just HDR10.

@S1ayeR74 they'd want to wait for the next gen version which is going to be released within weeks of Stalker 2 which game pass already has. And is likely to be the first major console game with Unreal Engine 5 so will get a lot of fanfare from MS.

Voted neither, don’t fancy another ww2 campaign and I don’t really do online although I’m intrigued by what interesting new mechanics and modes Battlefield will introduce. I’m mostly looking at Halo for my campaign and may give the MP a go as well.

@Boo_Breaker it would be a good time with TGS in a few weeks. Obvious and often rumoured one being Sega(and of course they have a lot on gamepass already) not sure I can see any of the others selling up.

Had a quick go this morning, only did part of the opening but the mechanics seem to work really well.

Presumably it will get added to MCC at some point?

I’ve started it twice, and stopped relatively early in. First on PS3 and got frustrated with the slow load time and then bought it for Series X as it was about £5 on sale and stopped when I heard there was a next gen upgrade. I may carry on if it’s free/small upgrade but that video didn’t look good.

I think digital delivery is still the way forward, I found E3 worse as you had a lot of small digital events around it trying that weren’t officially part of E3 to compete(ign and gamrsradar both had one and there were others). MS did temper expectations and this time of year should be to hype Q4 releases. Make it an hour and then advertise a Go Forza as following on. Halo should have been in the Xbox show too, also needed more focus on the Gunk and Scorn if they are coming this year. Flight Sim was probably the highlight, Age of Empires should have been a highlight but the content was a misfire.

@Deadcow like I said it wasnt that there arent valid reasons people are sceptical(but really we should just wait and see how it looks and plays fully). Just my own observation that the reaction during the show (on YT at least) was very negative because a number of big games focused on female leads.

Judging by the reactions on the Youtube stream there was a common theme of some 'anti-woke' types who were reacting to a female protagonist in this as well as COD and Halo Multiplayer. Not saying thats the only reaction but it causes a lot of noise and distracts from any real critique. FWIW the gameplay looked very Saints Row just with a slightly hipster looking cast of characters.

To be expected, there are a lot of games announced for 2021 that don't have dates so I'm happy to hear more about those.

@Grumblevolcano I certainly expect the first 3 as they are all pretty much confirmed for a 21 release. As Gamescom isn't normally a show they appear at you have to expect they have a lot to show.

As a Switch owner I'd love to see it even as a Cloud gaming option. But cant see it happening, as there are a lot of those games on the eshop already.

@Kilamanjaro no interest in COD but it has put me off shelling out for the inevitable THPS 3+4 release.

@notleks_ yeah I was doing it in stages. I was over Long Island but didn’t want to rush landing and taxi so stopped when I came back later it was running the update so had quit out the game to update!

Annoyingly the quick resume update (added automatically) stopped me returning to a transatlantic flight I’d been working through for about 4 days!

@AgentGuapo possibly but the difference is MS as a company are better equipped to utilise the benefits of being a multi faceted company where as Sony as a whole are not. Also it’s an odd thing to crow about that their production costs are higher!

@The_New_Butler I think MS are a step on Nintendo gave the platform and is suited to indie games as they’re often not graphically intense. But game pass (rather like Netflix) allows for and importantly funds things that wouldn’t traditionally get made.

@jarvismp me too I never had a capable PC that could maintain any sort of framerate, but always wanted to play it. Look forward to trying it out.

@Xenomorph_79 while its got the defacto monopoly on naming rights FIFA will always win out. Their only real chance is to diversify into a free to play model.

For streaming 100% no it wopuld be pointless, if they can by some miracle fit a Series S into a handheld then I'd be all for it.

@Generik yeah saw someone on a forum I frequent, trying to justify it saying its to do with how much more optimised the PS5s SSD is and PS4 saves couldnt work with it and it was MS and id's fault that his Doom eternal save wouldnt transfer over.
Couldnt possibly accept had they put the effort in they could ahve built a universal system.

Should be MS’ answer to Smash Bros. They started it by putting RAAM, Rash and the Arbiter in there why not expand to other IP?

@AFCC LG have jsut released their newer C model OLED TVs so you may get a deal on the CX(last years model). I believe the B series(so BX model) also supports HDMI 2.1 as well. Depending on the size you should be able to find either of those easily enough.

@TuckNorris85 thats what I thought. That Phillips is the same price as the 65" LG OLED I just bought.

@BAMozzy Still intrigued by this but hoping they put the trailer up in 4K. On some of those games youve mentioned I think Gunk and Scorn got mentioned in the graphic as gamepass this year we may see or hear more in the follow up video starting now. Im wondering if darktide and crossfirex have slipped(although as I understand the latter is a PC shooter popular in eastern markets you may find it is promoted heavily there?)

@Monkeyofthefunk yeah anything surprising is more likely to be happening in the short term. As in "here's a Series S/X optimisation for Hellblade 1 available on Gamepass today" type of thing.

Pretty good considering the switches user base and the expectation of new hardware.

I mean playing Watch Dogs it was only really an issue when I switched to the RT mode when I moved the camera quickly. Walking a long normally taking in the view it was hardly noticable.
So flying along at 30fps unless you are spinning the camera is fine
