I realize this is a me problem but I struggle with fps games without gyro control. So I'm stuck playing most shooters on the Switch.

@roe I think it makes perfect sense. By removing Xbox live gold, they also close the loophole allowing people to game pass for barely more than the cost of Xbox live gold.

10 million (users) x $60 (xbl gold) = 600 million
10 million (users) x $75 (game pass via xbl gold) = 750 million
10 million (users) x $180 (game pass true value) = 1.8 billion.

The last equation is greater than the previous two combined.

@Krzzystuff When Sony leaves the console market, expect Game pass quality to drop and its price to rise to $30 per month. We need Sony and Microsoft in the market to compete for our money. If we make it too easy for one or the other, they will take advantage of us.

@BrilliantBill I had GTA V on PS3. I had just finished the main story when the disc drive on my PS3 stopped working. So I didn't spend much time at all on the online and I'm sure there were some side missions I never got around to. There is a high chance I'll pick up GTA V again after it gets an official series x patch.

@Nightcrawler71 I actually just started Witcher 3 a couple weeks ago. Once again reminded that I suck at games. I also apparently suck at selecting side quests. 2nd side quest I picked, end up fighting a spider that can one shot me. After trying to not get hit for an hour, I realized that maybe I shouldn't be doing this quest. It wasn't until a few hours after that I noticed that side quests have recommended levels. That one was 33. My poor Witcher may have been level 4.

I bought Witcher 3. Don't want to be caught with my pants down when it leaves game pass.

Haven't played GTA V since it was released on PS3. I'd probably purchase the series upgrade for GTA V. Sorry to let you guys down.

@GamerDad66 That's a good point you make about customer engagement through services. If they release this, it'll probably include some OG Xbox games and also support game pass game streaming via xcloud.

@Atreus97 @eggsbox it's not irony. It's different people. The people that care about resolution won't be buying a series s. The people that don't care as much about resolution may be fine with the series s.

I absolutely plan on picking up a series s when they're available in stores and I can trade in my Xbox one to get one.

I agree that this is bad news for Microsoft. If game pass was sustainable, they would have no reason to try to suddenly bump the price of gold. While Microsoft is staying the course for now, changes are coming. Those changes might be fewer games on game pass, or gradual price increases (maybe an extra dollar per month every year until they hit their target)

@shonenjump86 They will but hopefully they won't try to double it out of nowhere. And the whole pay to play online is stupid and should go away anyway.

Lol at all you people thinking you're going to buy fewer and finish more games.

Accept it, your backlog will continue to grow indefinitely. The older you get, the more disposable income you have to buy those fancy games when they go on sale, and the less time you actually have to play them. This will eventually change when all of your children have completed college and moved out. But by then, you likely won't live long enough to finish your backlog that has now been growing for decades.

I have accepted my backlog will never clear long ago.

@armondo36 Even if FF7R came to game pass day one. I'll still buy it hopefully to encourage more FF games to come to Xbox at the same time as the PS version.

@NEStalgia Instead of one per household, it should be one per person per household. John Smith at 123 Main Street can only order one. But Susan Smith at 123 Main Street can also order one. Also anyone should be able to order a second after the first is delivered.

Example:
On Day 0, place an order for one console.
On Day 10, console is delivered.
Also on Day 10, place another order for a second console.

I am loving game pass on my Xbox one. Just started subscribing back in August, and it is great! The perfect service for filthy casuals like me.

I expected nothing less. People have been home using the internet since April.

Release the game when it's ready and not a moment sooner.

Personally don't see the big deal. The game works just fine without the microtransactions. If they want to add some meaningless microtransactions to catch some whales, more power to them. As long as the base game is unaffected, I don't see a problem.

@Dezzy70 Can't have too many cooks in the kitchen, or you'll end up getting a mess.

@PGS_71 Correct, it only works if you give them access to your account. That's not really a good solution for most people.

@PGS_71 That only works if you have one daughter interested in playing. If she has another sibling, that doesn't work. I.e. 2 xboxes, 4 people.

Shouldn't monster Sanctuary be on this list? I just started that one last night. It's pretty deep although far too easy, but I suppose that's to be expected for the early game. Only played for about an hour so far.

Did they specify whether this was a series x or Xbox one game?

Love Ark. Ark is still my most played game on Xbox, and is the reason I'm interested in upgrading to a Series X.

I never played on the official online servers, but I have a server that I play with my friends on. We have tons of fun. I schedule a couple days off work/family duties per year where we just meet up and play on our Ark server for maybe 8 hours straight. Good times.

This sounds like it might be more single player focused, which I'm okay with. Definitely worth a shot, and maybe they'll have improved the multiplayer as well.

I saw ark posted something saying to tune in to the game awards.

I finished the demo sometime last month, can't wait to get back into it. Even my kids are like: "Daddy, when are you gonna play that Dragon game again?"

There are some games I absolutely need to own. And then there are others that I'm okay with renting. Same for films. I'm okay with renting some movies, but others I need to own.

Why can't all stores just have reviews like they do on Amazon? Or Steam?

Didn't know about this family settings for Xbox. I definitely need to research more about that as my son gets more into gaming. Need to find out if there is a way to enable voice chat, but only for people I've approved as his friends. He's got a few friends that play Minecraft/Roblox, and it'd be nice if he could talk to them (but not anyone else).

@Medic_Alert At a bare minimum, they would need at least $500. They can maybe profit $250 from that, (who knows what kind of fees they'd be hit with as part of their scalper group, and how liquid their investment is). Or they can spend their time/money, taking training, getting certified, applying for jobs, and earning a lot more than $250 one time.

Honestly, BC is the most exciting part about Xbox for me right now. Currently playing through Sonic Adventure 2 again. Great times!

@Medic_Alert The jobs thing is not utterly wrong. Most people that are being laid off do NOT work in tech. They work in other fields. Secondly, you would need just enough computer skill to not get a virus while downloading and running said bot, and if you can manage that, you can probably also manage IT support.

And lastly, none of that detracts from my final (and probably most important) point:

@Medic_Alert Some people break into others home and steal things to provide food for their kids. Does that make it right? No. If you can create bots to scalp consoles, you can probably get a respectable job in IT and not have everyone hate you.

I also find it hard to believe that they have millions of dollars available to scalp thousands of consoles. But can't put food on the table to feed their children.

Sounds like a game I'll get eventually. I'm actually just now working through Breath of the wild, which I plan to follow up with Calamity, so I probably won't be touching this until sometime next year. Maybe it'll be on game pass by then, who knows.

Also, can we just get rid of button mashing events?
