Here we go, folks! Crimson Desert is officially out now for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and so we can finally get our answer on how well the game is running across both consoles thanks to some early release day footage.

We're looking to Fuzion Xbox Testing for this comparison, which has shared gameplay of both the Xbox Series X and Series S versions complete with some impressions and frame rate readings.

On Xbox Series X, Crimson Desert has three different performance modes as we've mentioned before, running at 1440p native (upscaled to 4K), 1280p native (upscaled to 4K) and 1080p respectively. The graphics are described as "sincerely stunning" at 1440p native, with all modes looking "generally ideal", although fellow YouTube channel The Games Tester describes the 1080p mode specifically as "rough". In terms of the frame rate, the "Performance" mode seems to run at anywhere from 45FPS to 60FPS during normal gameplay, the "Balanced" mode sticks at around 40FPS, and the "Quality" mode appears to be pretty much locked at 30FPS.

On Xbox Series S, Crimson Desert only has two graphics modes which are "Quality" (1080p, 30FPS) and "Performance" (720p, 40FPS). The former is described as the way to go here, as "Performance" degrades the visuals quite a bit. Overall, the game doesn't look amazing on the Xbox Series S, but it doesn't look terrible either. The good news is that the FPS seems very decent - "Quality" runs at a solid 30FPS in this comparison, and "Performance" runs at a solid 40FPS.

Not bad, then! If you're interested, Crimson Desert is available to play via the Xbox Store right now at a price of £54.99 / $69.99, and we've also got a roundup of some of the first official reviews for the game elsewhere on Pure Xbox.

We'll leave you with Fuzion Xbox Testing's two videos of Crimson Desert down below:

And, just as a little extra treat, here's what another aforementioned channel (The Games Tester) has been saying about both Xbox versions of Crimson Desert so far:
