@Balta666 Gyro compatibility will probably be poor but a lot of xcloud games support gyro through the phone so those should be easy to patch since the capability is already there.
I would also expect Microsoft 1st party to lead the way in patches, so games like Halo, Gears of War, and maybe Quake, Doom, etc. Since they now own those devs as well.
I've been waiting for xbox to get a gyro controller for a long time. Absolutely interested in the controller. Don't care about any of the console revisions.
@InterceptorAlpha I was playing Ark's battle Royale a few months back and there were a few people couldn't stop using slurs. If this existed back then, I would've used it for sure.
At $15 per month ($180 per year) , you can probably just buy every game you're interested in especially since Ubisoft's games are almost always on sale for 50% off or more.
Switch is 1st priority for RPGs for me. So if it's an RPG, and it's on the Switch, I'm getting it for the Switch. (Convenience of playing anywhere makes it far more likely for me to actually finish the game). The ones that are too technologically advanced for Switch, those are the ones I'd want on Xbox. But since they aren't coming to Xbox, I have a PS5. (Literally, the only reasons I have a PS5 is Final Fantasy and PSVR 2)
@PushButtons You complain about repetitive enemies but then mention castle crashers? Almost every enemy in fight n rage has its own techniques and fighting patterns. There's probably at least 10 variations of enemies and I can only recall 3 variations of castle crashers enemies: small with arrows, small with magic, big. Even the playable characters are all exactly the same minus trivial differences in spells. Fight N Rage is more like a fighting game that has been made into a beat em up. It has way more depth in its combat system than castle crashers does. Streets of rage 4 and tmnt shredders revenge are both also very solid choices.
Played Steamworld Dig 2 during one of the free play weekends. Bought it afterwards. That's the only time I've done that so far, but that's mostly because I'm trying to spend my time playing the games I've already paid for.
I almost bought this game 3 times. Now I won't have to (but I'll definitely pick it up on sale for keeps at some point in the future). I really enjoyed the first one and these games remind me of an old DOS game that I used to love: Conqueror 1086 AD (or something like that)
@Synthatron_Prime I've only played just up until the Raditz fight myself. Wondering if it's more time efficient for me to just start over or try to figure out this cryptic workaround. I also haven't played the game in about 6 months or so, so I could use a refresher on the basics.
Goldeneye has so much jank and yet I've finished 8 levels on 00 Agent and plan to keep going, so I voted for Goldeneye. I've already played Monster hunter rise on the Switch and p4g on vita, but those are also phenomenal games as well. Haven't tried the hi rush game yet, but I have downloaded it, so I'll probably get to it after I finish goldeneye.
I'm a big fan of Nintendo's style. Only showcase games that are coming out within the next 6ish months. If Fable isn't coming out for 2+ years, I really don't even want to know that it exists.
Going to be trying this on xcloud via steam deck. I will never be able to finish a persona game in front of a TV but the portability of xcloud might be sufficient.
I love how the PS5/XSX launched about 2 years ago and yet we still refer to them as next-gen. Makes sense seeing as very few games actually take advantage of the extra tech.
Yes the NSO version (that you can't buy) will include online multi-player just like it does for every other multiplayer NSO game. However, it will also use the outdated n64 controls. Good luck with that. I'll take xbox's dual stick solution over that any day. I also probably won't be playing it online anyway.
I'll wait for an open beta or the full game. Either way, this is probably a day one for me on Xbox. I literally bought a PS4 just for Street fighter V and it took years for that to even be worth it.
@SplooshDmg Yeah. 600k seems cheap to me too. 25 million subscribers at $10 per month is 250 million per month. They can add 400 cooking simulators and one month's revenue would cover it.
Yeah, for my family, I currently pay for 2 game pass ultimate (annually via gold to gpu conversion, so $75 each). And one annual gold sub (60$). The family gpu is a bit more expensive per year ($300), but I'd be willing to pay it as it's a very fair price. I'd probably also include my dad on the plan as he likes to play Xbox and can probably find somethings he'd enjoy on game pass.
@TheDano79 I initially bought the S due to stock shortages (and also for its low power consumption). I did eventually manage to get an X and have both in the same room (but on different TVs). Looking at the X and the S side by side really makes you value the enhancements that the X provides. (and the X is only connected to a 1080p TV). The S is certainly a capable machine on its own, just make sure you stay in blissful ignorance of its shortcomings.
@JaxonH I see your name pop up a lot in comments / reviews for this xim tech controller. It looks exactly like what I'm looking for in my Xbox controller so I'm excited to try it out. I bought it from Amazon even though it costs $40 more, because I like their return policies better. Do you know if it works with games that do not have a config? I'm most excited to use it for Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini and Time Splitters. I'd play a lot more FPS games as well if the gyro is good. I really can't stand stick aiming, so I buy all my FPS on Switch which sucks because of the reduced performance but I'll take that over stick aiming.
@ArchieDog Upfront cost, sure. But considering each of you would need a game pass ultimate subscription to play over xcloud... It's definitely more expensive over the long term.
I think what these devs are trying to say (but failing at) is that Game pass is only good for developers that get accepted into game pass. Games that aren't on game pass (particularly indies) seem to do much worse (at least financially). In a way, it makes Microsoft the gatekeeper on which indies thrive and which ones sink.
What isn't clear is whether or not the indie market as a whole is better or worse because of game pass.
All this buying is really not a good thing. I'm glad we still have our indies making games for passion and not strictly for $. Indies and Nintendo games consist of 90%+ of my gaming.
If it wasn't for game pass, I wouldn't even be touching my Xbox right now. It's kind of sad that 2 years in they have almost nothing to show other than some great hardware and some cool software tricks.
That's interesting that Xbox cloud gaming doesn't require a subscription for xbox. I bet they're working out how they plan on charging regular users to play the games they bought on xcloud. An xcloud only service would be great. They should just lump that in with Xbox live gold to be honest. Play the games you already bought via xcloud if you have an active gold subscription.
