Re: Doctor Who: The Edge Of Reality Brings Two Famous Faces To Xbox

The VR experience was hard going. Once you've learnt in to examine something ( I wanted to have a good nosey at the TARDIS console!) The whole scene would push away from your face. Very disconcerting in VR
I would think that with the changes they're making it will end up being a better game, but do think they should have fixed VR first

Re: Xbox Series X Aims To Make Cabling More Accessible Than Ever Before

Very thoughtful, might not use it often, but might come in handy one day.
I expect it to be extremely handy most of the time to some people and that's what matters.
The thing that struck me was my inability to every get a usb cable the correct way up first time!
Seriously hope that simple dots and dashes for ports could be taken as an industry standard for all consoles in future, IF other companies swallowed their pride because they didn't think of it first.

Re: More Details On Xbox Series X|S Launch Titles Are Coming Soon

Looking forward to getting a few previews of what we can expect.
I think the problem with releasing game footage for this gen is to make sure it looks sufficiently better to what we've had before.
MS have talked a lot about 60 fps & 120 fps, the very low latency between controllerconsole, and (as with ps5) the SSD. But very hard to actually show that on the web (stills or videos)
The only thing to really go all out on on, demo wise, is ray tracing, and it better be good enough to stand up to to fair bit of analysis (like the latest Spider-Man game was by DF and others).
Remember in the early days of 3D games when specular lighting became a thing? the bleeding effect was everywhere on everything in every game, even whenever it was not really needed.
Saying almost jokingly that ray tracing will be the same as that effect - it will all look very nice, don't get me wrong, but is going to be shoved down our throats at every opportunity
And that's because that will be be the visual thing for screenshots to show how much worthwhile this generation actually is.

Re: Microsoft Drops The Price Of Xbox Series S In Japan

A lot of good points raised above. I just think it's a good move and hope it works out for them.
One of those studios they have is bound to be working on something for that market.
Money is a good motivator and the XSS is a great next gen machine, so good luck over there!

@BlueOcean @kelticdevil agree with you both, with all those companies we will get diversity, and game pass ultimate will give us variety (so that we don't have to fork out money on games that might not be out first choice but that we get into and surprise ourselves!) I'd never eg buy a racing game but EA NFS yes please lol. Similarly, I'll never buy or enjoy a brawler ever, but it's there for others. So need variety.
But the reason I'm getting a ps5 is cos of those block busters that are story driven (etc), and they are missing from the GPUlt ATM. Great news about The Initiative.
If I want signed up already, I'd be signing up again

Re: Watch Dogs: Legion Will Be A Launch Title For Xbox Series X

Porridge2215

I came to this thread because I'd realised there is a series X version due at launch
But it worries me that there is no one Central character to play... I didn't really mind the first two games at all but it had a beginning a middle and an end, without a main character, I don't know how they can achieve that and make it personal
