Re: No Man's Sky Not Finished "By A Long Shot" According To Sean Murray

@themightyant also, like real life, no matter how much you see and do, there is the fact that you only 'see and do' 0.0000000etc0001% of what there is to see and do.
It is a peaceful game, for me anyway, almost zen like, where you just accept that you can't see/do it all, but have to accept what you have seen, and try to be thankful for it.
Strange for a game to evoke such thoughts.
No 100% platinum here, not really.

Re: Dying Light 2 Trailer Reveals Three Performance Modes On Xbox Series X

Even though I love 60fps, Always tempted by RT, I tend to stick with 30&RT, as you i) get a solid 30 unlike the old days of trying to maintain that 30 and ii) input lag - big improvements have been made this gen in the input pipeline to reduce lag from eg controller to 'GPU' (!) So that 30fps isn't as bad as it was.
(Search for input lag in next gen to find some stats saying it is half as much as last gen)
BTW, wonder if the RT supports VVR to go higher when it can (if that does not contradict (i) above !)

Re: Xbox Series X Mini Fridge Pre-Orders Open Next Week, Arriving This December

Porridge2215

Hang on!
It only holds 12 cans?
What happens when that gets full?
I'll have to decide what cans I'm keeping, that I need, and then decide about the another ones that I just need to use up and get rid of!
I know you're gonna say that I have to be more organised, but still.
Is there an expansion slot?
Will Seagate get the exclusive for the overpriced expansion to hold an extra 6 cans?

Re: An Xbox Series X|S SSD Storage Adapter Could Save You Money

When the news first broke that you could get an adaptor and a card a few weeks ago I started investigating and this story kicked that off again.
From what I can tell both times, at £30 for the adaptor, and managing find the exact spec and the physical size of card to fit in the adaptor, might as well just buy the official card.
Nearly I've done my maths wrong or wasn't looking at the correct shopping sites, but to me it really just is not worth it.
The new 512gb will be the option for me in a several months time, until then my 480gb SSD connected is working just fine

Re: Unlike The PC Version, Far Cry 6 Won't Support Ray Tracing On Xbox Series X|S

Porridge2215

@SplooshDmg, what I came on here to say ! I even I think I'd rather play a 1080 30fps with RT

What I can't understand is that with dynamic scaling can't they just let the frame rate drop to a minimum of 1080, maybe a maximum of 1800 (so there isn't that dramatical a changed between resolution), keep Ray tracing even at 60fps

I'm simplifying a lot, but would have imagined that Ray tracing was an on off switch? (I think pc games have that sort of thing) And wouldn't dynamic resolution be a Min Max slider anyway, one which the developer would have access to?

No problems with wired, playe a LOT with the PowerA, which has 2 programmable buttons at rear
NEARLY bought these, as I thought it was the one with 3d Atmos license as part of the package, but realised it wasn't
In the end, got the wireless 3d and STILL have to buy Atmos licence...
This would be a great story, but isn't, as addicted to ps5 immortals fynex rising (35% complete), so won't be buying game pass ultimate for a few weeks or more...
