We've been hearing a lot about Bloober Team's next-gen Xbox console exclusive The Medium over the past few months, and now the team has confirmed the game will launch on December 10th for Xbox Series X|S, as well as PC.
You can get a closer look at its dual-reality world above, with this latest video showcasing the game's dark art style inspired by Polish artist Zdzisław Beksiński, and his dystopian surrealist work.
The Series X|S version of The Medium is now available to pre-order on the Microsoft Store for £41.74 / $49.99, and the game will also be available with Xbox Game Pass from the day of launch.
Discover a dark mystery only a medium can solve. Travel to an abandoned communist resort and use your unique psychic abilities to uncover its deeply disturbing secrets, solve dual-reality puzzles, survive encounters with sinister spirits, and explore two realities at the same time.
Will The Medium be spooking your Xbox Series X|S this December? Let us know below.

YES YES YES 🙌 Let’s go!
It's great that the Series X seems to be getting decent support just after launch.
Really looking forward to this one. Hopefully it will still be on Game Pass when I finally do get a Series X in February.
Got the preorder discount on Steam the other day for €37, shame about the 1 month delay.
Looks interesting...
It looks promising.
Very excited about this one 😁
This is the game I wanted the Series X for, unfortunately I couldn't secure one so I'll wait until early next year to jump in
I’ll definitely be downloading this from Game Pass, it looks really good. But why is it only around £40 when other games are like £60? Either way I’m looking forward to it and will be getting Bloober Team’s Observer System Redux come 10th Nov.
This looks pretty interesting and pretty interesting in gamepass means I'll definitely be trying it out. Support my Motherland brethren from Polska!!
Heavily considering either a substantial PC upgrade or an Xbox Series S purchase to gain access to this soon. It looks fantastic. Nabbing the legendary Akira Yamaoka to do the music was a great move, and the gameplay looks far closer to what I want out of a horror game than their previous releases (no combat is a bummer, but I like the third-person exploration and puzzles).
@Ralizah I just finished replaying Silent Hill last night and will be redoing 2-4 over the course of the month. His music is so good.
Also +1 for a substantial PC upgrade. Worth it.
Awesome. Excited for this one
Possibly the first XSX game I'll buy!
@Menchi If I had opted for an Xbone this gen (last gen?), I'd be a lot more inclined to go with the Series S, but I mainly played third party titles on PC, so I'm reluctant to embrace another ecosystem. Not to mention PC gets virtually everything these days, other than first-party Nintendo and Sony stuff (although there are even some exceptions to the latter now!). And mouse aiming is just vastly superior for anything that can be played in first-person.
It'll be more expensive, but I can tailor the hardware how I like. I don't need a CPU as potent as the one in the Series X/S (thinking Ryzen 5 3600, which seems like a really solid mid-range CPU that'll handle everything I throw at it nicely), whereas I'd like a GPU that's heftier than what's in the Series S (for consistent 1080p/60 performance) and more RAM.
It'll be interesting to see what the minimum hardware configuration is for smooth playback on this game, as I think it'll be my "model" game for what my PC ends up looking like.
For all those reasons, I'll end up upgrading my PC regardless before long. On the other hand, buying a Series S would be a cheap and quick way to gain access to a number of games I'm interested in + Rare Replay (which, unfortunately, will likely never come to consoles) + an Xbox Series X/S controller, which I've kinda been wanting anyway. If I did that, I could maybe wait on these new NVIDIA GPUs to go down in price and/or release in weaker formats. I could see myself going for an RTX 3060 in the future.
I dunno which I'll go for first. Probably PC, but if they become available after launch, I could give into temptation and snatch an Xbox. We'll see.
@Ralizah New AMD stuff announced yesterday too, so make that a Ryzen 5600 instead of 3600!
Yes looking forward to this one, it'll be a nice Christmas treat
I'm looking forward to this one, I think this is gonna be a awsome game..
Looking good for just after launch
Do we know of other games that only come out on Series X|S, and not on Xbox One?
