The arrival of Xbox Cloud Gaming (also known as Project xCloud) for Android devices went down a hit following its launch last month with Xbox Game Pass, and Xbox boss Phil Spencer has confirmed the team is also working on bringing the service to consoles and PC.
However, in a response to an Xbox fan on Twitter, Spencer explained that while it's in the list of things that the xCloud team is working on, it's "a bit further down the list." Basically, don't expect it just yet.
In the meantime, xCloud allows you to stream over 100 games to your Android device with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and Microsoft recently rolled out Remote Play as part of its new Xbox App for mobile (Beta), allowing you to connect to your console remotely and play your games on the go. The wonders of technology, eh?
Are you eager to see xCloud brought to consoles & PC? Let us know in the comments.

I imagine this feature will be implemented by the time the 1st party crossgen period is over so that XB1 players get to play the next gen games without having to buy a new console.
Hold on, so gamepass for xbox is not streaming?
Tweets like this annoy me. To assume that Xbox haven't thought about this a million times already is just plain stupid. Of course they have — but as Phil says, it's one of many things they're trying to do and these things take time. It's not a case of simply flicking a switch and it's done.
Anyway, this would be a great feature to have eventually.
This is the final piece of the puzzle for me (aside from individual game releases)
I guess they first want to upgrade xCloud to the XBox series X, so that you can stream in a higher resolution on the pc
Chill, there are more important stuff to work on right now for Xcloud especially transitioning to Series X server blade next year. It will look gorgeous on 4K TVs.
@Murray Yeah im sure getting the blades updated is much higher on the list. Games look great on a phone/tablet but def. take a hit when running Xcloud on a big screen.
I don't care about streaming as far as games are concerned. PS Now works horribly from what I've read. Ditto for Stadia (lag and low graphics quality). Just make it an option, please.
@Valhalla91 umm no you download the games to your hard drive.
@mousieone ah OK Ive only used it on my mobile so didn't know this, I always thought it was like playstation now with streaming (with current gen downloads available)
@gollumb82 PS Now and Stadia have worked great for me in Germany with my 100Mbps unlimited connection. It will all depend on your internet connection.
Eh... still not that interested in streaming the games.
I wish I could be streaming gamepass to pc , as I've traded in my xbox1x . Might try Android app again...
@Valhalla91 Both Game Pass and PS Now (for PS4 games on PS4) are not streaming services. They're download libraries. You get to install the games just like you bought them digitally, except you don't own them, you only get them while they're on the service. Otherwise it's just like buying them.
PS Now only added the local download (of PS4-only games) in response to Game Pass though.....it didn't have that originally.
@kingv84
Good to know, but I still don't like the idea of streaming games. Guess I'm too old-school. Happy to hear it works well for you, though.
Now, here me out, but if xcloud becomes successful in streaming games, in high quality, could they, possibly, find a way to stream games from peoples steam/epic game store accounts. Allowing for PC games to be played on your series x, would really tip the scales.
