Re: Better Make Room, Stalker 2 Will Be 150GB On Xbox Series X

KilloWertz

Damn, that's Call of Duty level. If it turns out to be great, I'll still take the time to download it, but this is definitely one area where Microsoft should have put more effort into. A patch might not be the best example, but the patch dropping tomorrow for Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a third of the size that it is on Series X. There's no reason why a game should be anywhere near this size, but in the end, I guess it's as much GSC's fault as it would be Microsoft's as I'm sure the game will still be huge even on the PS5.

Like I said, if it turns out to be great, then oh well I guess. The trailer yesterday was impressive, so I'm not counting out making the effort to download it.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade Xbox & Bethesda's E3 2021 Showcase?

KilloWertz

@xMightyMatt14x Easiest comparison for A Plague Tale is The Last of Us. No gunplay, as you use a slingshot, but there are definite similarities.

I'm surprised that I'm pretty positive about the show as a whole. I was expecting a lot and was pretty pleased overall. I'd probably give it a B. I was hoping for an Asobo acquisition, but oh well. A lot games got announced for release between now-ish and 2022 for Game Pass, and Yakuza Like a Dragon now being on Game Pass is awesome since I've been wanting to play it but just never bought it yet.

To those complaining about Halo Infinite, the multiplayer footage was definitely in-game even without the hud, so if anything you can tell the game is in a lot better shape than it was before (at least graphically).

Re: Roundup: Here's What Was Revealed At Xbox & Bethesda's E3 2021 Showcase

KilloWertz

@mwatcher True, but it was actual in-game footage the whole time, and it looks a hell of a lot better than it did before. I was actually happy with what they showed given that it looked pretty good, at least from what I could tell.

I'm expecting them to do something like that for it in the Fall to get the hype train going further. I know they don't really do things like Sony's State of Play showcases, but it's Halo.

Overall, I thought it was a pretty good show. The two new Bethesda umbrella games (counting Starfield) were announced as Xbox exclusives, which has me optimistic that they are being smart and making at least most of their future games Xbox exclusives. Kind of surprised the initial comments here are a bit meh in opinion.

Re: A Plague Tale: Requiem Gnaws Its Way Onto Xbox Game Pass Next Year

KilloWertz

@Xenomorph_79 Exactly. I'm actually somewhat disappointed they haven't already. I was hoping it would be announced during the show, and obviously announcing A Plague Tale 2 as an Xbox exclusive would have give you the hint before they announced it right after the trailer.

Still, at the end of the day this was one of the best surprises of the whole show. Not knocking the show, as it was good, but some of the stuff had leaked and this definitely did not.

Re: Bethesda's Starfield Lands November 2022, Exclusively For Xbox And PC

KilloWertz

@Dezzy70 In the end, it's not a big deal. It's honestly a disappointment (the trailer) unless this ends up being confirmation that it's an Xbox exclusive and will lead to basically all Bethesda games being exclusive.

I get why people are upset though. It's moments away and people came here specifically to watch the conference.

@FraserG It's ok. I'm already over it given that the trailer is somewhat of a disappointment anyways since it has no gameplay.

Re: Bethesda's Starfield Lands November 2022, Exclusively For Xbox And PC

KilloWertz

@FraserG True, but I'm sure there have been others like me that have purposely stayed off anything until now waiting for the show. In the end, I'll live though as this is not a surprise at all. Still going to wait and watch the trailer "live", but the one thing still left out of this is getting confirmation that it is Xbox exclusive. If not, then they might as well just skipped buying Bethesda, but we'll see.

Re: Xbox Announces Cloud Gaming Streaming Sticks, TV Integration

KilloWertz

Whether Microsoft wants it to or not, this can't possibly replace traditional console gaming anytime soon. Until everybody can get access to internet good enough to be able to stream games, especially new gen games, this will just be a nice service that is being praised by people (including some in the media like Destin from IGN) without putting enough thought into it to realize that it's just an alternative option and not the next big thing.

I don't have a problem with them offering this as long as they continue to make console as well, which obviously they will have to for the foreseeable future because of this needing really high quality internet to be viable, but the excitement for this by some is ridiculous.

Re: Feature: Here Are Our Xbox Predictions For E3 2021

KilloWertz

I like the predictions, but I'll be happy enough as long as they acquire Asobo and finally announce that the Bethesda/ZeniMax games are going to be exclusive to Xbox. I'm more excited about the smaller studios that they've acquired like Team Ninja and Obsidian, and Asobo definitely qualifies after A Plague Tale: Innocence.

Still, it's time for Microsoft to finally say something about the Bethesda/ZeniMax games other than the same thing twice. The last time they said something, it was just the same thing they said before, just in different words. It's time to get serious, grow a pair, and just come out and say what they should have already.... "Yes, we are looking to compete with Sony's exclusives finally and not just tease you with timed exclusivity."

Re: Rumour: Xbox Might Have An Acquisition To Announce At E3 2021

KilloWertz

@Fenbops Yes, that's them. That would at least be just as exciting of an acquisition for me than another high profile one. Buying Ninja Theory and Obsidian, at least to me, was a bigger deal than ZeniMax just from a game perspective. The talent they have and what they will be able to make with bigger budgets is more exciting to me. Same would go for Asobo given that they were able to create something in A Plague Tale: Innocence that rivaled a Sony exclusive with a much smaller budget.

Re: Rumour: Xbox Might Have An Acquisition To Announce At E3 2021

KilloWertz

@Chaudy But at least part of that is because it needs to be big for Xbox. I know they've been doing some really good things over the last 6 months or so, but at the moment a lot of the optimism is basically blind faith. Turning at least some of that into something concrete by actually showing us real gameplay from some of these games, while maybe announcing things (games, exclusivity, acquisitions, etc) that aren't years off like they have been doing would be great. This is their time to show that everything up until now hasn't just been mostly all talk, and a lot of eyes are going to be on them to deliver something good here next week.

I'm not saying that Xbox won't be in the place it seems like it's going to be within the next 2 or 3 years, but the showcase on the 13th being a disappointment would definitely hurt their momentum.

Also, just finally come out and say whether ZeniMax studio games are exclusive or not. Stop dancing around it with fancy talk that amounts to the same thing they said from the beginning, which is basically nothing. Doing that next week would go a long way.

Re: Rumour: The Outer Worlds 2 May Be Announced At Xbox's E3 2021 Show

KilloWertz

@StylesT It would almost have to be as I would imagine it'd still be several years away.

As much as I love getting confirmation that a game I enjoyed is getting a sequel, announcing something like this if it's still years away is almost pointless, and is something Microsoft seems to like to do.

Obviously I'm not going to be upset if we get confirmation of a sequel even though it's pretty much a lock to already exist anyways, but the showcase better have some major announcements that we don't already assume are happening along with some gameplay footage of some major games.

Re: It's Official, Xbox And Bethesda's Showcase Is Coming On June 13

KilloWertz

@PhhhCough I'll be watching it live thanks to them actually having it at a time when basically everybody can watch it. It''s annoying when them and Sony did the showcases over the last year and they were usually at a time when some people (like me) were still at work.

I'll try to keep my expectations in check too, but honestly this needs to be a pretty huge presentation. They've been doing some pretty good things so far this generation, but if something like this ended up being great and got a lot of people talking, then it would go a long way to helping Xbox get back to where it needs to be with the masses.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With June 2021's Xbox Games With Gold?

KilloWertz

I'd be more exciting if it was the Xbox One version of Injustice, but alas, they find a way to kind of ruin that. Yeah, I know the "upgraded" version isn't a huge step up, but it still wouldn't have cost them anything really to give us the Xbox One version instead. Also, yes, I've already played it on PS4, but I would have considered playing it again on Xbox for free since I still have Injustice 2 left to play and that's on Game Pass.

Still, for people unlike me that won't care, it is still a great game with a story that is way ahead of any other fighting game that I've played. I have no idea if any of the other game are appealing or not.

Re: Xbox's E3 2021 Conference Will Reportedly Take Place On June 13

KilloWertz

@Hutchieace Well, the Bethesda acquisition was announced shortly before launch, so good luck with that since they didn't have anything coming out around then anyways.

Patience. It's a common complaint, and obviously not a lie, but it's looking like waiting will pay off and then some. It's not like there's not plenty to play in the meantime, but nope, people need it now (not just you specifically). It's an already extremely old complaint as I haven't been bored a day since I've gotten the Series X.

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition's First Patch Is Now Available, Here's Everything Included

KilloWertz

@DoubtfulJ If you only have Mass Effect installed, it is a 6.98 GB update. Like CeleryMan said, I'm guessing each game is patched individiually, so obviously you'd have to download another roughly 6 GB patch for each whenever you install each of the other 2.

Nice to see that they are fixing things so quickly, but also annoying that we had to download a patch on Day 1 and then we have to download another one already. Not a big deal for people that have good internet, but unfortunately I have to have DSL.

Re: Microsoft Is Now Offering 3 Months Of Xbox Game Pass For Just $1

KilloWertz

@Cyberhu That's just dumb on their part. All you have to do is let your subscription expire, extend your Xbox Live to the maximum 3 years, and then pay the $15 to get Ultimate and it will convert the whole 3 years to Ultimate. I wouldn't pay $15 a month for Game Pass otherwise, even though it is a good value I don't use it enough for that, but at $15 for 3 years (plus Xbox Live Gold), I'm easily fine with that.

Re: Bright Memory, An Xbox Series X|S Console Exclusive, Is Now Cheaper Than Ever

KilloWertz

I keep forgetting to play this. It was on my list of games to play when the Series X came out and this was cheap, but then I always end up moving on to something else.

Like I already mentioned, this has been about this cheap before. I'm not sure if it went up much since launch, but around then is when I actually looked into the game and it was cheap then.

I won't have a problem paying essentially $7 after tax even if it only takes me an hour. A good gaming experience is a good gaming experience, but I can't disagree with others that think it should be on Game Pass. It's not like the one man developer wouldn't have still gotten money from it.

Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Are Saying About Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Out Now

KilloWertz

I have it coming from Amazon tomorrow (silly how you can order a game from them on release day and have it come the next day, but if I pre-ordered it beforehand, it wouldn't have been here until next week).

Anyways, I'm not sure if I will start it right away after I finish up Gears 5 or not. Obviously I want to play it or I wouldn't have ordered it, but like others, I have new games to play as well. Maybe I will play Mass Effect 1 and then move on to a new game like Immortals Fenyx Rising (or the other way around). Regardless, I'm glad it seems to have turned out pretty good.

Re: Microsoft Kicks Off Its 20 Years Of Xbox Celebrations

KilloWertz

Been with Xbox since between shortly after the release of Halo 2 and the release of the Xbox 360. It seemed like I had the original Xbox for longer than that, but I guess most of my Halo 2 time was actually on the 360. Either way, that means it's been almost 16 years now for me since the 360 was released in November of 2005.

Kept owning their systems all along, but switched my preference later in the 360/PS3 generation and for the PS4 generation, but I'm back with Xbox as my primary console with the excellent Xbox Series X. It's a beast, and the future is very bright.

One slightly negative note is their 20th anniversary group of games listed on the Microsoft store is kind of a joke. Some obvious classics, but then some new games that really have no business being there like Watch Dogs: Legion. No offense to fans of that game, but it's not something that should be included in something like this.

Re: Scarlet Nexus Is Getting A Timed Exclusive Demo For Xbox Series X|S

KilloWertz

As others have said, a timed exclusive demo is dumb. Now, the fact that there will be a demo at all is good news.

While I'm looking forward to the game and have had it pre-ordered for a while, getting to try the game out for myself beforehand is never a bad thing. Although I fully expect to, it gives me a chance to make sure I'll like it.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of The New Quick Resume Improvements On Xbox Series X|S?

KilloWertz

Honestly, I haven't been using the feature much since it wasn't completely stable. People were having trouble with achievements popping for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, so I wasn't about to risk something going wrong with them on my end.

Now that I'm done with the game until I'm ready to play the upcoming DLC, I may finally give the feature a real shot. Obviously it would be great to bypass certain things, like the narration in The Witcher 3 every time you load the game.

Re: Talking Point: Six Months Later, What Are Your Thoughts On The Xbox Series X|S?

KilloWertz

@FatalBubbles To be totally fair, several of those games are cross-gen. The only PS5 exclusives are Demon's Souls, Astro's Playroom, Destruction All-Stars, Godfall, and Returnal. I'd also argue against Demon's Souls since it's just a remake of an old game, but even with that it's only 5. Still, if you want count them as well, it will just require a bit of patience that people should have given how things are and that each gen usually starts out slow even when things are normal.

Yes, Xbox only has 1, but they have a very exciting group of games coming out at some point. Some 3rd party exclusives that may be flying under the radar for some like Stalker 2 and The Ascent, along with Halo Infinite and Microsoft Flight Simulator of course. Then even more big guns are likely coming in 2022 and likely 2023, like Perfect Dark, Hellblade 2, Avowed, Fable, Forza Horizon 5 (and Motorsport 8), State of Decay 3, and Psychonauts 2. Patience will likely pay off in the end.
