Re: Xbox Studio Ninja Theory Unveils Its Brand-New Mocap Stage

KilloWertz

I know some people will be disappointed by this in a sense because it gives the impression that the game is really far off. Unfortunately, it seems like this is one of the games that the pandemic really messed with. They probably would have had the stage and mocap done many months ago if it weren't for this.

Hopefully there's a chance of a 2022 release. It'll obviously be worth the wait based on the first game and now this likely having a much higher budget, but I'll at least hope for that for now. 2021 is obviously out of the question.

Re: Thanks To Smart Delivery, Marvel's Avengers Is A Much Easier Upgrade On Xbox Than PS5

KilloWertz

@Dezzy70 I have 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate. Haha...

That doesn't really matter. Seriously though, you are definitely right again. It's been really pleasant since switching. It really almost feels like a weight was lifted off my shoulders after my Series X arrived.

Obviously I should have just went with the Series X from the start, but oh well. Better a few months late than never I guess.

Hopefully Microsoft gets the credit they deserve at some point for what they've done with the Series X in comparison to the many puzzling choices Sony made with the PS5. Actually, the big turnaround started with the One X, but hopefully the Series X will get more attention so people realize.

Re: Xbox Is Getting A New 'Suspend' Feature To Help With Download Speeds

KilloWertz

@InterceptorAlpha Maybe it only really slows down if you're playing an actual multiplayer game instead of a single player game that is just connected to the network basically?

I'm not trying to say you're lying or that you're an idiot or whatever. I just honestly don't understand why it's such a big deal based on what I've experienced myself. Like I said, yesterday I downloaded a portion of the patch for Doom Eternal while playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla and it downloaded almost as much of it as it normally would. I have DSL internet, so it's not like I'm working with a great connection either.

Re: Thanks To Smart Delivery, Marvel's Avengers Is A Much Easier Upgrade On Xbox Than PS5

KilloWertz

@Dezzy70 Couldn't agree more, and this is coming from somebody who has owned both (and has sold their PS5). Xbox deserves more credit for their quality of life features that are well beyond what the PS5 offers in similar areas. Not being a fanboy at all. It's just fact. Sony taking so many steps backwards with their UI for no good reason was a big reason why I left the brand.

While game file sizes are generally larger on Xbox, the ease of being able to upgrade games and manage your storage space are two of the biggest advantages Xbox has.

Re: Scarlet Nexus Slashes Its Way Onto Xbox Series X This June

KilloWertz

That's out of the blue and sooner than expected. There's been no hint that the game was far enough along that it was going to release soon. I figured it would be later in the year given the lack of info for the most part.

Hopefully the game turns out to be good like the early trailers made it seem like it could. It was one of the standouts of Xbox's first showcase.

Re: Xbox Is Getting A New 'Suspend' Feature To Help With Download Speeds

KilloWertz

@InterceptorAlpha "Alternatively they could just let us download while playing." That's what I responded to and why I wasn't completely sure what you meant.

No, it shouldn't exist, but it does. It's not like it restricts is so much that it might as well not let you download anything at all while playing a game. I was downloading an update today for Doom Eternal while playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla and it downloaded nearly as much as it does when my system is sitting idle, so I'm not sure why it's such a catastrophic problem.

Re: Xbox Is Getting A New 'Suspend' Feature To Help With Download Speeds

KilloWertz

@ymo1965 Ok, that's fair. You're not wrong. The Mbps jump around constantly while downloading. In the end, it makes no difference really as the Series X still downloads for me better than an Xbox ever has, but maybe they should just remove the Mbps thing. It doesn't show the download speed on the PS4 or PS5. If you never saw the fact that it jumps all over the place, you would likely be fine. The Completes in time estimate should go away too since it's useless. I just ignore it, so no biggie, but it's still useless.

@InterceptorAlpha This article is about the upcoming Suspend feature. You can download at full speed if you suspend a game you have in Quick Resume (or a game not closed, which is basically the same thing).

You made it seem like you were saying that you couldn't download at all while playing a game. Slight misunderstanding I guess, but downloads while playing a game don't seem that bad to me. Yeah, it would be better to be able to continue downloading at full speed, but I'm guessing it's a memory issue that makes it impossible?

Re: Xbox Is Getting A New 'Suspend' Feature To Help With Download Speeds

KilloWertz

@InterceptorAlpha You can download games/updates to things while playing a game. Unless I'm completely missing something here, not sure the point of the complaint here.

@ymo1965 Your complaint about Quick Resume is valid, but you could have easily avoided corrupt saves from it by just closing the game. If you have to shut off Quick Resume every time you load them up, then you aren't closing the games. While Quick Resume should work as intended, I'm not sure why it's so hard to hit a few buttons to close a game for the time being.

The download speed complaint is getting old. Especially on the Series X where download speeds are improved over the Xbox One and download at least as fast if not faster than the PS5 does. I've used both, so I'm not making it up to make Xbox look better.

Re: The Outer Worlds Receives 60FPS Upgrade For Xbox Series X

KilloWertz

@Mamabear Yeah, and like I mentioned, I chalk some of it up to poor design by having so many load screens. The one I mentioned where you walk through a door, only to have to walk through another door right away, was pretty poor design.

Not saying Obsidian sucks or anything. I know Fallout New Vegas was supposed to be great, and I'm sure they will make some good games on the Series X (their character work and tone are great). Better tech to work with should eliminate my biggest complaint with The Outer Worlds.

You are right that the load times are a lot better for this on the Series X according to videos. That doesn't excuse the excessive need for loading screens, but it will obviously make it a more pleasant experience as the game was pretty good otherwise.

Re: The Outer Worlds Receives 60FPS Upgrade For Xbox Series X

KilloWertz

@magicismoney That's actually a good question. I haven't downloaded it yet since I don't have it installed on my Series X (finished it quite a while ago on my One X), but I have been considering re-installing it to play the game's DLC, and this would be a good excuse. That is as long as I can find a save that will allow me to play the first DLC since for no reason you can't just start playing it. Not replaying the whole game again even though it would be great to try it on the Series X.

Enjoyed the game, but the sometimes constant and long load times really hurt the game at times. The worst being opening a door, only to have to open another door right after that, so that was at least 3 minutes of sitting in loading screens because of poor design.

Re: It's Official, Outriders Is Coming To Xbox Game Pass At Launch

KilloWertz

@Krzzystuff I wouldn't be greedy. I would just take Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Series X period. I have my doubts it will ever happen even though it's a timed exclusive though since nothing has been said at all about it coming to Xbox. So, in a way, the timed exclusive thing will likely turn out to be a lie in that regard.

As for Outriders, this isn't really my thing, but it's still good to see a big enough 3rd party game coming to Game Pass right away. It would at least make me consider giving it a shot at some point if it turns out to be good.

Re: Reaction: Xbox Might Just Be In Its Strongest Position Ever Right Now

KilloWertz

Definitely exciting times and makes me really happy I switched back over to Xbox for this new generation. The potential and excitement that the future holds for the Xbox brand are both higher than they've been in quite some time, so obviously I'm really excited.

Within a few years, things could look very different than they did coming out of the last generation. Like Dezzy, I think they have the best of several things (even though the masses will disagree on the UI and the controller), and on the games side things look extremely bright.

Re: Random: Xbox Fan Shares Concept For Improved Achievements Layout

KilloWertz

I like the idea of adding Medals to getting 100% for a game like the Platinum trophy on PlayStation, but otherwise I actually already like how things look. They did a slight change to it last year when they were getting things ready for the Series X|S, and it made things look a bit cleaner, so I'm good.

If anything, maybe find a way to divide the DLC achievements from the main game in the layout like Sony has with trophies, which would make things cleaner. Now they are all just lumped together and it's hard to tell what the DLC achievements are from the regular ones sometimes. Like I said earlier, I'm fine with how things are now, but that would be my one change other than Medals for getting 100%.

Re: Deals: The Best Bargains In Xbox's Huge Ubisoft Publisher Sale

KilloWertz

@TrueAssassin86x I'm guessing the person means Ubisoft's equivalent to EA Play would be added to Game Pass by the end of the year, which I've seen rumored a couple of times. Obviously it's just a rumor.

I bought one thing during this sale, and that was Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. I was going to buy it soon anyways, so an extra couple of dollars off was something at least.

Re: Need For Speed Analysis Highlights Hot Pursuit Issue On Xbox Series X

KilloWertz

@blinx01 You are probably right, but it seems like it would be something a very small team could iron out rather quickly. So, while it wouldn't be shocking at all if they just left it the way it was since they've been forced to work on Battlefield 6 in the middle of developing their own game, it'd still be rather poor if they didn't fix it now that it's been discovered.

Re: Madden NFL 21 Is Now Available With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

KilloWertz

Unless they improved it a lot over time, it might be a bit of a stretch to say it's a great day to be an NFL fan on Xbox. Still, it's nice to have EA Play now part of Game Pass so if they make another good football game again someday, it will be available for free after that season.

Obviously there's other games, but just mentioning football since this is about Madden.

Re: Poll: How Excited Are You For Halo Infinite Right Now?

KilloWertz

After seeing the recent screenshots and such, I'll put myself in the Fairly Excited category. I wasn't looking forward to it much at all as I haven't really cared about Halo in a long time, but I do have to say it's looking to be in pretty good shape now and it shouldn't be a bad time to get back into the series.

Re: Drew Murray Returns To Insomniac After Leaving Xbox Studio The Initiative

KilloWertz

@Jacko11 Yeah, I didn't see that until after I posted. It's the only reason that really makes sense. While anything is possible, like the scenario I said, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to do some elaborate exit when he could have just stepped down and went back to Insomniac without lying. So, again, I tend to agree with the other reason now.

Re: Next-Gen Comparison Highlights Blu-Ray Issues On Xbox Series X

KilloWertz

@KilloWertz Not really "in their defense", but there's always been little things. I'll take back what I said about Control since that's technically on Remedy. It just seems to be different little things each generation, but you also can't argue that they are doing a lot of things right too. Their backwards compatibility is far and away better than Sony's, and storage management is far and away better so far too. To be able to just plug and play any external hard drive and store any Xbox games including Series X games is something that shouldn't be discounted, while Sony continues to just sit there and do absolutely nothing.

I'll give Sony the benefit of the doubt on the internal drive expansion with COVID likely making it harder to test a large selection of drives that they need to in order to make sure they are compatible, but there's no excuse why we can't store PS5 games on external drives by now. Honestly, there's no excuse why it wasn't a feature from the start, but it still shouldn't be an issue regardless because it's just for storing them and not playing them.

It's a bit extreme that maybe Microsoft should just leave the industry. They are making solid strides with their 1st party output for the first time in ages. In a year or two, it could be a very interesting time to be an Xbox gamer. I haven't felt that way since the 1st half of the 360 generation, but they have plenty of very interesting titles in the pipeline.

Re: 505 Games Is Aware Of Control Ultimate Edition Issues On Xbox Series X

KilloWertz

Nice to see that they are working on it and it might even be fixed in a day or two. I've purposely not bought the Ultimate Edition yet for Xbox because there was no way I was going to bother with it if it kept crashing. I would have just stuck with the last gen version, which I didn't have many problems with anyways outside of the stutter glitch coming out of menus (on the One X).

Love the game, so I would have no issue playing through it a 3rd time to experience the upgraded version. Well, whenever I end up getting a Series X of course.

Re: Next-Gen Comparison Highlights Blu-Ray Issues On Xbox Series X

KilloWertz

@SalmonTag A lot of people use their game systems as a Blu-ray/UHD movie player.

Outside of last gen not displaying colors completely accurately when watching a movie, the fact that there's frame rate glitches is a bit surprising. Some things not working 100% properly is par for the course for an Xbox, but that and at least a couple of games suffering from serious issues is a bit surprising from them. Playing games relatively glitch free has never been much of an issue, but Control Ultimate Edition is borderline unplayable for some people on Series X.

But back on topic, it's not a huge deal for me as I don't use my game systems as my primary Blu-ray player anymore. A lot of people do like I said, but you can get a standalone player for cheap, so this shouldn't make anyone jump from Xbox to PlayStation. It's just a bit disappointing that something so basic doesn't work quite like it should.

Re: A Way Out Director Says He Prefers PlayStation's 'Strategy' Over Xbox

KilloWertz

@gollumb82 Can't disagree there. Obviously a lot of Sony's games are of extremely high quality regardless of how similar they are now, but it's not like Sony isn't relying on a ton of existing IPs now. A lot of their recently released and upcoming titles are mostly sequels of franchises they have relied on for generations, or a couple of sequels from last generation new IPs like Horizon and eventually Ghost of Tsushima). Miles Morales is a very good game, but it's exactly the same as the first one gameplay wise and is very similar to other open world action games of their's like Infamous. This is kind of what Xbox was getting criticized for back in the day until they completely forgot about 1st party and eventually more than earned the criticism.

I'd argue that there's been some heavy hitters on there already and that they have at least one first party killer app in Gears 5. Granted some of the heavy hitters were only on there for a limited time (like GTA5 and Red Dead 2), but this director's comment about there being no games can't be exactly what he meant since that would mean he thinks there aren't any games on there at all and there are plenty of good ones.

Re: Activision Blizzard Confirms More Remasters Are On The Way In 2021

KilloWertz

This is good news, but also makes merging Vicarious Visions into Blizzard an even more puzzling move. They really should have just had them stay separate and do more remasters if they were going to do more. I know somebody else did the Call of Duty ones, but still, it's obvious Vicarious Visions was another Bluepoint caliber developer for remasters.

Hopefully they remake the first Diablo before Diablo 2. Kind of an odd place to start.
