Advanced Warfighter. I didn't play many of the Ghost Recon games unfortunately, as I was much more into Halo and Gears then, but I do remember playing that a decent amount and enjoying it.
Scarlet Nexus for me. I'm roughly two thirds of the way through it I believe as I just finished the Stage 7 Standby Phase and the last one is Stage 11. I've been highly enjoying it so far, so thanks to Xbox for adding it to Game Pass.
My only complaints so far are the odd really frustrating "boss" battle and the bond system being pretty flawed, but again, I'm still highly enjoying it overall. Other than the horrible draw-in that plagues all versions of it, it also looks great on the Series X.
@themightyant It affects anybody who still buys physical copies. Granted people with really good internet will have it downloaded in a quick enough amount of time, but the other side that has mediocre internet at best gains very little by buying it on disc. Also, in this case, Ubisoft screwed up as any game that has Xbox Series X listed first on the cover has always had the Series X version on the disc from the games I've bought. At least the cover posted online.
Maybe there is a valid reason, but I don't see it. Sure, maybe the cross-gen titles that came out around launch, but there's no excuse for any of them to not have the Series X version on the disc at this point.
In the end, you just have to work around it or whatever I suppose. It makes buying physical copies a significant less advantage on the Series X than the PS5, and it means you are very unlikely to play some games on day 1 unless you have really good internet, which is something that is rarely the case on PS5. It's also a knock on Microsoft's laziness with compression. Again, you have to plan accordingly, but it is also a shame nonetheless.
@JetmanUK Again, not trying to start an argument, but buying physical copies still has a big enough advantage on the PS5, where I can actually install a full game off of a disc (minus day 1 patches, which usually aren't huge like Far Cry 6's patch).
@themightyant True, but this is still a major disadvantage over the PS5 in that particular area. Not this game as there's a huge patch even on the PS5 (and rare game here and there), but most games that you buy physically on the PS5 install almost completely from the disc with only having to download a small patch. Smart Delivery is nice, but then they should include two discs or just put the Series X version on the disc and make Xbox One people download the game like some games have done. I'm skeptical that Microsoft will ever switch over to UHD discs like Sony did right from the start even when games are no longer cross-gen.
Not trying to start an argument or anything. Just stating an unfortunate side effect of Smart Delivery and an advantage for PS5 owners who are new gen only, where Smart Delivery doesn't matter as much unless you are going back to play a game you had from the Xbox One before you got a Series X.
I'm definitely playing this regardless of the reviews. A bit surprising that they are that low on PS5 so far (yes, I know the score is still decent), but I always planned on waiting for a sale anyways for two reasons... There's plenty of games coming out this month (and the rest of the year) and Ubisoft games always go on sale quickly. Assassin's Creed is the only Ubisoft series I'll buy right away.
@Amin1998 I had that same issue this morning with the latest patch for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but after just letting it sit there after the 5th or 6th try, it eventually continued on it's own.
While I haven't experienced anything really other than that, hopefully Microsoft can get these issues fixed since they just appeared out of the blue over the last few days.
@Fiendish-Beaver I was actually trying to put you at ease by saying that I had it happen before. Oops... lol
I wouldn't be overly concerned, even though it is something I didn't have happen anywhere near that often. That is a bit odd, but it's also not something I'd stress out about too much. Maybe a couple of other games besides Skyrim over the last several years for me, but I also don't have my external drive connected to my Series X at the moment.
@awp69 Maybe I chose the wrong words. Ok, it's a shame the focus seems to be more on the Push Square review and the site itself than the pretty solid remaster coming in a matter of hours now.
@Fiendish-Beaver I've had that issue randomly for years on the One X. I remember Skyrim "updating" several times over the time I had it installed on an external HDD when it was really just trying to install the game again. I haven't experienced it on my Series X yet.
It shouldn't matter if you store it on an external drive or not, as the only "rule" is you can only actually play Series X games if they are on the internal or the Seagate storage card. If that issue still randomly pops up for people, it is a shame. It does seem to be very random though, so there's that.
@JetmanUK Same here. I will likely try both modes and see if the 60 FPS makes any difference for me, but it's not something I would have been worried about.
Still, I appreciate the fact that they are giving us the option. It's nice to see this becoming more of the norm this gen so far.
@awp69 Not defending the review, especially since this will be the first time playing the game, but on the other side not everybody has to love it.
A shame this has turned into a console war type discussion instead of celebrating the fact that the remaster job seems pretty good (both sites agree there). I plan on jumping into this for the first time after I am done with Scarlet Nexus.
My first thought when seeing this on the front page was "what the?"
I'm not going to mock you or anything, as you took a decent amount of time to write this and any content here is welcome in my opinion, I don't think the two are similar at all. Oh well...
Doesn't matter to me as I likely will never play BTB mode, or at least very rarely. I don't play multiplayer games much anymore anyways (I have played Halo Infinite some though), but when I did, I always preferred the "traditional" modes.
Scarlet Nexus after it's surprise addition to Game Pass. Maybe a bit of Halo Infinite as well if I have time during it's scheduled times (still annoying that you can't play it when you want to).
Obviously really looking forward to this, and it's also obvious that it needs to be a really good game.
I also can't argue with people wanting to see gameplay Seeing that and knowing more about the actual game would really help push the hype meter up to 11 (or at least 10 for now with it being a little over a year away hopefully).
@bort118 Agreed. It's not as big of a deal as it was in the previous generation, as it flickering back and forth from playing a game and then quitting a game messed up the HDR completely until I restarted the console. Now on the Series X it does everything fine, but it would still be nice not to have it have to switch after you quit a game.
Maybe this does have HDR as well and it's just not mentioned? It would be silly for it to only be 4K, as while it does solve the UI being extremely obvious that it's 1080p whenever you play on a PS5 and then move to the Series X, you would still get the black screen for a few seconds after a game unlike on the PS5.
Also, not sure why they are just rolling this out to more Insiders rather than just releasing it to everybody. It's not like it's a whole new UI that could potentially have several bugs. It's a resolution boost.
Like @Mamabear, I strangely started playing it this weekend, but not because it was just added to Game Pass. I needed to take a break from Kena on the PS5 because I was stuck on a boss and was too frustrated to keep trying to beat it for a few days, and I had already bought this on Xbox after Phil's praise back in April.
It's not quite for everybody, as there's no action of any sort in the game at all, but it's good if you don't mind a really simply game that's relaxing rather than intense. I don't mind the extreme simplicity and find the story to be touching. It's not exactly common to get something original like this, even if some people might find it boring. Sometimes it's good to escape into something simple like this after playing some "regular" games
That would at least partially explain why it almost seemed like Microsoft had forgotten about it since it hasn't been show in their showcases in a long while.
Yeah, I don't see it happening. I'd say there's a 1% chance of it happening. Don't kid yourself though with Mario and Zelda. It is definitely 0. That's like God of War and Ratchet & Clank appearing on the Switch.
@Dezzy70 Yeah, for a little while they roped me in and I was willing to just wait it out. Then I realized I have several of those options with the PS5 and was being a bit silly. Still don't regret getting my Series X as it will get used more often eventually, but they need to bring it. In the meantime, my PS5 will continue getting plenty of usage.
As for Halo Infinite though, I hope they eventually fix Total Control as it's severely glitched. I managed to get about an hour with the beta late last night and the one time Total Control came up with got completely destroyed because most of the time when I would capture Point B it wouldn't register any points for the team even if I was standing in it and it never said it was being contested. Otherwise a pretty enjoyable experience, closing out the night with an intense sudden death loss in CTF.
Kena on my PS5. If I have time and it's during the times it's running, maybe a bit of Halo Infinite. Still not thrilled about only having set times, but oh well.
@BrilliantBill True, never thought of that, but judging by some comments here it seems like a potentially bad move since it seems to be screwing anybody outside of North America.
I'm on EST and I'm still not sure how much I'll be able to play it because of the restricted times. Really dumb that they aren't making it available to play 24 hours a day.
I'm going to have a short opening in between games between Mass Effect 2 and Kena on the PS5, so this could fill that void that I will likely need until Tuesday since I'm almost done with Mass Effect 2 and this is pretty short. Downloading it now.
@NEStalgia It has to be something like that since that's an absurd difference otherwise. Even the Assassin's Creed Valhalla ones, while still significantly smaller on PS5, have been 30 GB at most (like the recent one).
With that said, this is still a perfect example of why Microsoft needs to try to figure out how to implement good compression tech like Sony did for the PS5. Say what you want about Sony and the PS5, but the fact that patches for games are roughly half the size on PS5 than they are on Series X is fantastic and it's a shame Microsoft did nothing there.
@Fiendish-Beaver That is my main concern as well. Sure, we can't judge this too much until we know what the lists will be, but it still should concern people who will only casually play the multiplayer rather than ones who will play it for hours a day. You could say ranking doesn't matter as much then, but casual players will likely always be stuck at "1" (or close to it) since they likely won't be on enough to complete very many challenges.
@The_New_Butler True, but if that was truly the case for everybody, Microsoft wouldn't release any games for sale digitally or on disc. Once again, plenty of people will buy the game and be disappointed that it's missing two essential features when it could have been delayed again.
@Dezzy70 Even if they just delayed it to include Co-Op Campaign and then wait on Forge, it would release well before next Fall. People would still be disappointed, but it would minimize it at least. Even waiting on Forge, it would likely be out before the Fall. That is if they actually meet the time frames they laid out there.
@The_New_Butler You can't use Game Pass as an excuse as there will be plenty of people that still buy the game, and while I could care less, plenty of people consider Co-Op Campaign to be an essential feature they've used throughout the whole series.
Again, I could care less as I don't really play much of anything with people online anymore, so I doubt I would have played the Campaign in co-op anyways. Still, this is a lose/lose situation for Microsoft as people will be extremely disappointed if it releases without essential features, and if they delay it again it will be borderline embarrassing since this is their flagship title and it's already been delayed for a year once.
Honestly, I'd delay it if only because they also have Forza Horizon 5 coming out. Yes, it would be disappointing for people, but at least people would be getting a complete game eventually and Forza Horizon is easily big enough to carry the torch so to speak for a while.
@John117 Versus is 4v4 where it's 4 humans vs. 4 zombies for 3 rounds, but whoever survives the longest as the humans wins the round, not how many kills you get. It might be ok with friends, but it's useless with randoms, unlike something like Halo where you can still have fun with random people.
Not a fan of it being based on survival time, and not a fan of the card system either.
Played Versus yesterday and thought it was pretty bad to be honest. I still plan on trying the campaign, which is what I care most about anyways. If that's close to as good as Left 4 Dead, then I'll be good. I'll never try Versus ever again though.
It seems pretty solid so far. Definitely looks a lot better than it did last year, and it seems to have the good feel back that it used to have. My only real complaint so far is it can be hard at times to tell the two teams apart. There are moments when I'm not sure if it's a teammate or an enemy.
If I could ever get to play it. The first day was completely taken away by their issues of not being able to get this released and then a lot of us not being able to download it until hours after that fact. So, because of that I didn't get to even finish downloading it until last night. Finally was ready to sit down and play this right now, only to find there's an 8 GB update for it now. There goes a portion of another day to be able to try it out...
Sorry, some people have no choice but to have DSL internet, so it's not like some can download things in minutes like some people can. That along with cutting the cord on cable and streaming television.
I'm guessing Microsoft isn't going to extend this a day either since they literally cost a lot of people a day they were supposed to have to play this. Yes, I get it's just a beta, but that's not the point. When you say what the dates are going to be for something and then completely fumble the release of it, you should do the consumer friendly thing everybody says you do and give people an extra day at least.
The PS5's solution is not confusing. It's actually fairly easy, but obviously nothing can be easier than sliding a card into a slot like on the Series X.
The one thing I will say is that they should extend it a day since their issues caused plenty of people to miss out on a whole day's worth of the beta.
Reviews are a lot better for this on PC, where this sits at 75 instead of 64. Still, given that the average hasn't gone up after it going from 9 reviews this morning to now 15 on Series X still will likely keep me from making a point to try to squeeze this game in between other games I had already planned on playing right now.
I'm not saying it's not an entertaining game or that this review is biased, but it's still disappointing that this isn't getting better reviews overall. There's too much other stuff to play for me to make the extra effort to play something that's just ok. At least right now.
Not a big deal since you can pre-load it. I work during the day anyways, and wouldn't be up playing it tonight at midnight, so this releasing later in the day than usual is meaningless for me.
The Ascent. No matter how great they make them, I've never been interested in a Flight Simulator release. Hopefully The Ascent turns out to be pretty good though.
Pretty much sums it all up. I own both and they both have their strengths and weaknesses. Just based on the consoles themselves, maybe one could say the Series X is better, but they are both so similar for the most part that it just comes down to which ecosystem and games you like better. Obviously also where your friends play if you play multiplayer games.
I'll give the DRM criticism. They maybe need to look into that, although it doesn't matter much to me as my internet is down maybe 1% of the time every year.
As far as the game preservation thing, that's kind of ridiculous. Like others have said, just because Game Pass is all digital doesn't mean that hurts game preservation that much. The vast majority of everything that's part of their huge backwards compatible catalog is available digitally. If that doesn't change, who cares? Xbox still has vastly superior backwards compatibility, and this is coming from a person who also owns a PS5.
Finally, the game and all it's DLC is affordable. Not as bad as Dead or Alive 6 of course, but this game's DLC had always been overpriced.
Although I doubt they ever fixed some of the DLC achievements. Some of them never unlocked and the company ignored it. It was even posted on their forums by a lot of people and nothing ever came of it.
@GamingFan4Lyf I had an issue with the Insider updates on my Xbox One X at one point as well. I don't exactly remember what it was since it's been multiple years since, but that's a big reason why I was only briefly an Xbox Insider. It's a nice program in a sense, but I'll keep my systems running on finalized firmware.
@Terrin I agree about the actual news story. It's probably meaningless in the end, as it's just one person moving on to another better studio. Regardless, it does seem Microsoft needs to step in this time and do something since Rare has been a mess for a long time outside of Sea of Thieves.
Others were going on a tangent, so I commented on that as well.
@Doctorwhoooourgh The studios under the Bethesda umbrella already have their own management. Playground and The Coalition are well managed, but given how poorly Microsoft has handled Rare ever since they bought them, it makes you wonder if it's not the studios themselves doing all of the management work and Microsoft has just gotten lucky because of that. 343 wasn't exactly well managed either, as Halo hasn't been close to the same since they took it over, but hopefully Infinite changes that and that they are finally on track.
I could be wrong. Maybe Rare and pre-Infinite 343 were isolated incidents and everything else will end up fine, but Microsoft needs to do something with Rare as it's clear they are lost and have been lost for a long time. Sea of Thieves has been good for them, but that's not been the norm with Rare.

Re: 343 Industries Talked About, But Decided Against Delaying Halo Infinite Past 2021
Re: Hands On: Back 4 Blood Is Left 4 Dead 3 In All But Name
@John117 Versus is 4v4 where it's 4 humans vs. 4 zombies for 3 rounds, but whoever survives the longest as the humans wins the round, not how many kills you get. It might be ok with friends, but it's useless with randoms, unlike something like Halo where you can still have fun with random people.
Not a fan of it being based on survival time, and not a fan of the card system either.
Re: Hands On: Back 4 Blood Is Left 4 Dead 3 In All But Name
Played Versus yesterday and thought it was pretty bad to be honest. I still plan on trying the campaign, which is what I care most about anyways. If that's close to as good as Left 4 Dead, then I'll be good. I'll never try Versus ever again though.
Re: Halo Infinite Players Have Already Eliminated Over Six Million Bots
It seems pretty solid so far. Definitely looks a lot better than it did last year, and it seems to have the good feel back that it used to have. My only real complaint so far is it can be hard at times to tell the two teams apart. There are moments when I'm not sure if it's a teammate or an enemy.
Re: Xbox Fans Are Really Impressed With The Halo Infinite Technical Preview
Re: Xbox Issues Reminder As PS5 Unveils 'Confusing' SSD Expansion Process
The PS5's solution is not confusing. It's actually fairly easy, but obviously nothing can be easier than sliding a card into a slot like on the Series X.
Re: Halo Infinite's Technical Preview Is Now Live, But Has Hit A Few Hiccups
The one thing I will say is that they should extend it a day since their issues caused plenty of people to miss out on a whole day's worth of the beta.
Re: Hands On: The Ascent - A Gritty Cyberpunk Action-RPG Shooter That Will Keep You Coming Back
Reviews are a lot better for this on PC, where this sits at 75 instead of 64.
Re: Here Are The Release Times For The Ascent On Xbox Game Pass
Not a big deal since you can pre-load it. I work during the day anyways, and wouldn't be up playing it tonight at midnight, so this releasing later in the day than usual is meaningless for me.
I just hope it turns out to be good, that's all.
Re: Poll: Which Are You More Excited For This Week, Flight Sim Or The Ascent?
The Ascent. No matter how great they make them, I've never been interested in a Flight Simulator release. Hopefully The Ascent turns out to be pretty good though.
Re: Titanfall 2 Hacks Continue As Multiplayer Rendered Unplayable On Xbox
@antstephenson I get what you're saying, but removal might be a bit much. You can still play the campaign, right?
Re: Random: Xbox Responds To 'PS5 Is Better' Comments On Social Media
Pretty much sums it all up. I own both and they both have their strengths and weaknesses. Just based on the consoles themselves, maybe one could say the Series X is better, but they are both so similar for the most part that it just comes down to which ecosystem and games you like better. Obviously also where your friends play if you play multiplayer games.
Re: Not Everyone Is Happy With Xbox's Recent Comments About Preservation
I'll give the DRM criticism. They maybe need to look into that, although it doesn't matter much to me as my internet is down maybe 1% of the time every year.
As far as the game preservation thing, that's kind of ridiculous. Like others have said, just because Game Pass is all digital doesn't mean that hurts game preservation that much. The vast majority of everything that's part of their huge backwards compatible catalog is available digitally. If that doesn't change, who cares? Xbox still has vastly superior backwards compatibility, and this is coming from a person who also owns a PS5.
Re: Sid Meier's Civilization VI Has A Brand-New 'Anthology' Bundle On Xbox
Finally, the game and all it's DLC is affordable. Not as bad as Dead or Alive 6 of course, but this game's DLC had always been overpriced.
Although I doubt they ever fixed some of the DLC achievements. Some of them never unlocked and the company ignored it. It was even posted on their forums by a lot of people and nothing ever came of it.
Re: Recent Xbox Insider Update Causes 'Black Screen Of Death' On Xbox One
@GamingFan4Lyf I had an issue with the Insider updates on my Xbox One X at one point as well. I don't exactly remember what it was since it's been multiple years since, but that's a big reason why I was only briefly an Xbox Insider. It's a nice program in a sense, but I'll keep my systems running on finalized firmware.
Re: Another Everwild Team Member Appears To Have Left Rare
@Terrin I agree about the actual news story. It's probably meaningless in the end, as it's just one person moving on to another better studio. Regardless, it does seem Microsoft needs to step in this time and do something since Rare has been a mess for a long time outside of Sea of Thieves.
Others were going on a tangent, so I commented on that as well.
Re: Another Everwild Team Member Appears To Have Left Rare
