Nintendo's fans are celebrating The Legend of Zelda's 35th anniversary this week, and as part of the celebrations, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has given some very brief thoughts on the franchise.
Talking to Inverse, Spencer highlighted how the iconic Nintendo franchise has "brought joy to so many people over the past 35 years", ever since the original game was first released all the way back in 1986.
"Gaming has a rich history of transporting us to new worlds and on new adventures, these journeys fold into our own lived experiences and become a part of us. The Legend of Zelda is an iconic franchise that has brought joy to so many people over the past 35 years and is still going strong."
Spencer is no stranger to praising Nintendo and its games, even appearing on a virtual talk show called 'Animal Talking' set within the Nintendo Switch title Animal Crossing: New Horizons late last year.
Of course, there's no way of actually enjoying the Zelda franchise for ourselves on Xbox, but if you're looking for some great alternatives, we recently highlighted a list of 10 Zelda like-games you can play on your Xbox instead!
What do you make of Phil's comments? Give us your thoughts down below.

Tfw the head of Xbox acknowledges Zelda's 35th before Nintendo even does
@TheFrenchiestFry You know that all he says on social media is just a PR stunt or corpo talk? Nothing to be excited about.
What Phil really means is "Fakk, why didn't we just bundle Jade Empire as an up-res and sell it for $60???"
@TheFrenchiestFry Nintendo acknowledged Zelda's 35th anniversary! They released a 35 year old Zelda game for $100 for a limited time only!
@Lajt It's a joke jeez
@Lajt I would normally agree. Phil strikes me as a pretty decent guy, though.
@Secryt not only that, he also seems to be the only current head of a console that actually is a prolific gamer. Players have even reported bumping into him playing Destiny.
As a gamer, I am sure he legit respects Nintendo. He has openly stated it several times. When he praises and congratulates Sony, that's when I feel he is just doing it out of obligation.
I loved some of the Zelda games first time round.
But no need to keep giving us HD and remakes Nintendo. How about some new AAA games, my Switch is as good as redundant. Even more so after that lame direct the other day.

You can enter development mode and emulate the majority of the Zelda games
Very classy of him. I love the new culture of collaboration not competition between MS and Nintendo.
