Quick resume seems even faster - I didn't even get the little quick resume icon in the corner, just went straight into the game.
Not sure if it's related to the update/quick resume but Dishonored crashed for me a couple of times last night - exited right back to the main menu and had to boot the game again. I seem to remember Forza Horizon 4 doing the same last update too. Maybe an issue with a game being in quick resume mode when the update installs? Haven't had any problems with Forza before or since so assuming it was related to the update.
@OliverOwen Quite surprised that you can't remap buttons to be honest, even as an accessiblilty feature. My son has Cerebral Palsy and has poor motor skills; he was constantly deleting photos/videos from his Switch before they added the ability to remap the buttons.
@OliverOwen You can set it to not upload pictures in the settings I think, but it still pops up with the little window and says something like "Failed to upload" or similar. Still mildly annoying, but at least won't fill storage with unwanted pics/videos.
@BAMozzy Better to work with your established "rival" and work against the likes of Google and Amazon who are trying to establish their own gaming platforms. Last thing either Sony or MS want is either (or both) of those companies eating into their market share.
Seems an odd choice for Free Play Days titles given they are so cheap in the store. Different if they were £20 each or something, but at around £3 it makes sense just to buy them if you are at all interested.
@TrueAssassin86x couch co-op is fine when you are actually allowed people in your house. Covid rules don't allow folk in to others houses yet (here in the UK at least) so online multiplayer is the only way to play with others outside of your own family.
Played loads of these over the years but can't seem to get into some of the more recent ones. Recently gave up on Batman 3 and Marvel 2 as I was bored after just a few levels. Last one I really loved was Jurassic World.
@UltimateOtaku91 I think @Richnj was referring to the PS3/Vita games you suggested they should add (after they've just announced they closing the stores). That would be a pretty low.
Picked up Hitman 2 and the LEGO DLC for Forza Horizon 4. Tempted by Snowrunner too, but since Mudrunner was previously on Game Pass I'm in two minds - sure it'll get announced right after I buy it!
@niggyt2004 Same thing happened to me. Mentioned in the forums and another user said they had a bit of a delay on a previous (similar) punch card. I'm going to leave mine for a week or so and if it still hasn't added I'll contact support.
To be fair it's not really the games that we're paying for with this service, it's the online play; games and the DWG discounts are just there to add a bit of value. How many folk actually play these games before they dismiss them as garbage?
As others have said, you can't please everyone and if they put super-popular AAA titles on every month or even stuff that was already on Game Pass folk would complain that they were getting stuff they already had, or that they were somehow paying for it twice.
This is not a problem that's exclusive to XBox either; The Nintendo offering on their online service gets a lot of criticism on the forums for lack of games being added (Sometimes months go by with no new games) and for the quality of those games when they do finally get added.
A bit (ok, a lot) of Forza Horizon 4 and some more of Oxenfree for me this weekend. Probably some Paper Mario on Switch if/when I get kicked off the main TV so the family can watch Saturday Night Takeaway 🙄
Could the difference be that the Xbox installs the game in a way that allows you to play before the whole game is downloaded? A game I was downloading the other day let me play when it was around 75% done. Not actually sure if PlayStation 4 or 5 does this this; I recall the PS3 used to download the game, then install it separately.
@gollumb82 While I generally agree that it's not really newsworthy, I can understand why she chose to announce via Twitter/Social Media; saves having to "announce" over and over to multiple groups of colleagues/friends etc at different times. This way you only have to announce once and you can move on.
@XBontendo I never suggested otherwise. I was genuinely interested whether @Jorb-Norb thought CDPR deserved this like it was some kind of "internet karma" or something; whether they though the first "wrong" justified the second so to speak.
@Senua Six figures rather than six zeros, so $k not $m. Still not an insignificant amount for smaller publishers though...
As others have said, I can't see Xbox, Sony or Nintendo bothering if it's all digital. Nintendo seem to have ditched the Direct approach, for First Party games at least, with the Partner Direct and Indie Showcase videos the only stuff they've put out in the last year or so.
Still have this in my PS3 backlog, although don't recall ever actually buying it; I think my brother might've gave me it when his PS3 died. Never really had the urge to play it TBH, maybe one day...
@Bartig same on the other consoles as well. PlayStation Plus games are only available while you have an active sub. I'm sure back in the PS3 era they used to let you keep any PS1 games that were on the service, but not sure what they do now as I don't have a PS4/PS5 and haven't subscribed for years. Switch online also requires an active sub to access the NES/SNES app.
@awason recognising the console is very inconsistent. The remote install quests have registered a few times with me, but not the last few times I've tried. Not sure if this lines up with a update or not, but it's pretty frustrating
@Trainer Admittedly I haven't done much general browsing of the store; tends to be just looking for specific stuff or through the sales items etc, but I did notice that when you filter by Genre it does just show the most popular in those categories. I guess neither store does "browsing" that well; maybe understandable given the number of games in each store. Same example on the eShop would probably give you hundreds of shovelware titles to browse through really slowly until you eventually find something interesting/get bored of scrolling.
@gollumb82 Yeah, it would be way more convenient. From what I've read, the previous version let you buy via the app so makes it an even stranger decision.
@gollumb82 It's all relative. I don't have a PS4, but coming from the PS3 store and the Switch eShop I'd say the Xbox store (on the console at least) seems like perfection compared to those two! Although, I'll admit not being able to buy something through the app is pretty frustrating sometimes.
At this point every man and his dog seems to have some vague inside knowledge of some done deal that they can't give any details because... reasons.
Microsoft have pretty much said they're always looking to acquire, so any rumour of some mid-level developer being bought is eventually going to be right! This is not news, bloggers and YouTubers need those clicks though.
Have good memories of the original on PlayStation back in the day, but recently went back and played Revelations (I think) on the Dreamcast and couldn't get past the horrible controls; were they always this bad? Only recently played the 2013 reboot and loved it. Picked up Rise in the recent sales for a few £s so looking forward to playing that sometime.
@StonyKL Not really looking for the Series X anymore so didn't actually click through any of the alerts, I managed to pick up a Series S a couple of weeks after release. I didn't realise until this morning that I hadn't cancelled the stock alert!
I got stock alerts (via Stock Informer) for Series X at few stores this morning (UK) so they are slowly becoming available. Amazon, Very and Currys IIRC, and I also got an email from a different source saying Game also had stock. No idea how long the stock lasted though...
Some good additions there. Donut County and Cyber Shadow are on my Switch Wish List so will definitely play those. Never played any of the Yakuza series so might give them a go at some point too.
I don't mind that games leave the service, I've actually played a few games that I never would've considered buying precisely because they were leaving soon, but it would be good to have a bit more notice than 2 weeks.
Is there a way to tell how long a game has been on Gamepass?
Typical, FF XV, Gris and Indivisible that were on my list of stuff I wanted to play. Working away from home this week too, so no access until Friday 😔 Might just have enough time to play through FF: can always pick up the other 2 on Switch in a sale or something.
Any reason to get this rather than the cheaper White (non-XBox branded) SN30 Pro controller? AFAIK the white one doesn't have the phone clip, but apart from that I don't see much difference.

I bought this in the Easter sale, so of course it was coming to Game Pass.

@antonvaltaz You could just buy it...
Re: WRC 9 Has Dropped To An Unexpectedly Low Price On The UK Xbox Store
@JoakimZ Yup, requested a refund for my original purchase and re-bought at the lower price.
First time I've requested a refund from MS - was processed within a couple of minutes of submitting; very impressive.
Edit: Just noticed I actually received the refund before I got the email to confirm I'd submitted a request! That is quick.
Re: WRC 9 Has Dropped To An Unexpectedly Low Price On The UK Xbox Store
I don't really need another racing game, but at that price it would be rude not to buy!
