Microsoft has plans to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming (Project xCloud) to Windows 10 PCs at some point in 2021, and based on this new footage, it looks like won't have to wait too long until we can get our hands on it.
As highlighted by The Verge's Tom Warren, this unreleased app not only allows you to stream games via Project xCloud, but also use the Remote Play feature with your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S console.
As Warren states in his tweet, the PC version of Xbox Cloud Gaming looks set to support 1080p streams, which is a nice boost over the Android version, currently locked at 720p. It'll also support ARM devices such as the Surface Pro X.
As for when we can expect to see it? Microsoft hasn't provided an estimated window of when it'll arrive, but Warren says he believes the beta "should be coming out real soon", so hopefully we'll be testing it in the near future.
Looking forward to this app rolling out publicly for PC? Give us your thoughts down below.

Excellent news! I'm only slightly worried about 1080p streaming as 720p on my smartphone can sometimes get blurry, slow or there are some graphical hiccups (artifacts etc). Still, it'll be nice to play some less demanding games on a bigger screen when my tv is occupied
@gollumb82 yep… a lot of ‘smaller’, less visually intensive games that I keep bypassing once I get in front of the tv are gonna get got… looking at you WarGroove!
Is there a web browser on the switch or PS4/5? If so gamepass is on them consoles in the near future
@Krzzystuff the Switch technically has one but it's not readily accessible to the user. It crops up if you're signing into Twitter/Facebook or under certain other circumstances, but you can't just fire it up and browse the Internet, per se.
Of course, that could change...
Microsoft should make access to the xCloud service available everywhere that people game, eg: Android and Roku devices, SteamOS, as a "core" to be integrated into Retroarch and its derivatives (like Batocera and Lakka), Apple computers, etc. In other words xCloud should be as ubiquitous as Netflix, if not more so.
Xcloud on my tablet isn't great, hopefully this will work better on the PC with a wired connection.
I'll be giving it a go but more out of curiosity then anything, my setup allows me to play them natively on PC should I wish
I find that as a gamer with limited time to play having xcloud as a backup is great, i have one controller dedicated to it and has the clip on at all times for my phone. I usually play less demanding games on it but i have found that the witcher 3 and sniper elite 4 did play rather well when I was doing them for quests. Actually as far as the weekly and monthly quests go i like not having to install a game just to get the quest done when I can stream it
Is there a date for XCloud coming to IOS? I know they said Spring and Spring is about here.
Going this will work with edge, Chrome or Safari on Mac... Then I can play my Xbox games in the office, when the missus is busy doing her Pilates in the living room!
@CrazyJF @VenomousAlbino having a browser alone does not mean it will work with xCloud. For one, most integrated console browsers almost certainly have zero direct access to the game pad input, as the game pad is mimicking a mouse while the browser is running.
The browsers are also likely not feature complete, since they are minimalist low memory, low resource versions that are designed to not hinder down the system.
@CrazyJF looking at the site, those games look like click/tap based games. Given the controler is acting as a mouse, I can see that working.
@Tharsman yeah, which is why I explicitly stated that the Switch's browser isn't readily accessible to the user. 😜
