The Xbox owned studio Ninja Theory has been pretty quiet over the past year aside from a couple of snippets of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, but we do know that the company has just opened up a brand-new Mocap stage.
This was revealed by Senua actor Melina Juergens on Twitter, who also provided a look at it:
The reveal would appear to suggest that Ninja Theory will use this stage for the much-anticipated second entry in the Hellblade series, and it'll likely also be put to even greater use for the mysterious Project: Mara.
Unfortunately, there's still no sign of a release date for Senua's Saga: Hellblade II (or Project: Mara, for that matter), but hopefully we'll find out something later this year. We're eagerly awaiting those details, Ninja Theory!
What do you make of this? When do you think Hellblade will drop? Give us your thoughts below.

I know some people will be disappointed by this in a sense because it gives the impression that the game is really far off. Unfortunately, it seems like this is one of the games that the pandemic really messed with. They probably would have had the stage and mocap done many months ago if it weren't for this.
Hopefully there's a chance of a 2022 release. It'll obviously be worth the wait based on the first game and now this likely having a much higher budget, but I'll at least hope for that for now. 2021 is obviously out of the question.
How far off is this game?
I enjoyed the first one on ps4 so definitely looking forward to this one, but they make it sound like they have only not long started no-cap which may mean this is a 2022 release (or not as I have absolutely no idea how long mo-cap takes)
Hellblade sucked
@KilloWertz yeah, that's my concern with this news. I wonder if them moving to the new unreal engine also played a big factor in this delay.
@Deljo it's a different style, but I thought it was excellent. The atmosphere and story of it was something I've never seen (or heard) before.
@swagbag713
Same for me. Hellblade is so unique in many ways. They can take all the time they need to make part 2 another masterpiece.
Can't wait for Hellblade 2..
Phil did say that 2021 is when we would feel the effects of Covid-19 on game development.
This is good news for the future
But damn is this game being developed backwards? Every announcement makes it seem further away than the last.
I am expecting 2023 for this game.
