Last week we reported that Control Ultimate Edition players on the Xbox Series X were suffering with an extensive amount of crashing while playing the game. It appears the issue is widespread enough to be known by its publisher 505 Games, who has acknowledged the issue and said they are working on a fix.
Responding to players on Twitter who had run into the issue while playing the game on their Xbox Series consoles, 505 Games commented stating it is "aware of stability issues" and is "looking into them". It also reiterated that the issues are prevalent in both performance and graphics mode.
505 Games has added that it's hoping to have an update by the end of the week, so hopefully this is something that can be rectified soon. Control Ultimate Edition looks absolutely stunning on the Xbox Series X and we can't wait for more people to dive into its strange, mysterious world.

I have actually been experience crashing. I decided to replay the game - since save files didn’t transfer.
It’s a wonderful enough game (and short) to warrant retreading old ground to get to the DLC.
I play in graphics modes. 60fps is smooth and all, but this game feels great at a darn-near locked 30fps.
I'm still waiting to play. No rush on my end, but I'll hold of for the fix
I'm playing through the game on my Series X and haven't encountered any issues except for one, when my game crashed, but it wasn't a major problem since it happened at a control point and I had just saved. I'm loving this game. I originally completed it back on my PS4 in 2019, but never got around to the DLC because I was waiting for the Ultimate Edition. This is probably my favorite game from Remedy by a country mile.
Playing on Series X, and mine has crashed to the Home Screen several times now. Quite annoying, but the game does load up again pretty quickly thanks to the SSD. Re graphics vs performance modes - I’ve tried both out, and definitely prefer performance mode.
Hopefully they fix that annoying stutter when text appears on screen as well.
Nice to see that they are working on it and it might even be fixed in a day or two. I've purposely not bought the Ultimate Edition yet for Xbox because there was no way I was going to bother with it if it kept crashing. I would have just stuck with the last gen version, which I didn't have many problems with anyways outside of the stutter glitch coming out of menus (on the One X).
Love the game, so I would have no issue playing through it a 3rd time to experience the upgraded version. Well, whenever I end up getting a Series X of course.
