Re: Gears Of War: E-Day Is The Coalition's 'Most Ambitious Game Yet'

Sol4ris

But why do you always want to turn everything into a console war? No one ever mentioned Sony, but you always bring them up

Actually, dude, I mention these things because they don't happen in a vacuum? You might see it different, and that's fine.I do not.
And yes we are all allowed our opinions ๐Ÿ‘.

@themightyant

You know its amazing how only Xbox/Microsoft developers seem to draw ire, and curiously never or very rarely any Sony/PlayStation ones.
It's most peculiar, isn't it?๐Ÿ˜….

Below is a quote from ND's boss Druckmann:

Itโ€™s the most ambitious game weโ€™ve ever made. Itโ€™s the most expansive game weโ€™ve ever made, maybe the most expensive, by the time we finish it

Did you found that statement absolutely meaningless and stupid, too(?).
I've also seen you basically defend their studio introducing crunch at the work place. How do you reconcile these very different attitudes with an objective stance (right?) when it comes to Sony, Microsoft related news?....

Re: Perfect Dark Lead Actor Had 'Entire Chapters' Finished Before Xbox Cancellation

The PD reboot is such a perplexing case. We got a vertical slice of the project after almost half a decade of development, which allegedly was kinda fake, but later clarified to have some fake stuff by a former dev. Now we keep hearing how far ahead the game was before Microsoft pulled the plug on the project.
Would be nice to find out one day who has been or is economical with the truth in this sad saga..

Re: Two PS5 Console Exclusives Are Finally Releasing On Xbox Next Week

Sol4ris

Definitely interested in Fort Solis. But man, I don't understand some of these smaller developers releasing games on a platform 2 years later, and then complaining of poor sales (I can forsee this floping on the Series consoles).
If you make a conscious decision, then don't complain about it later, when people virtually forgot about your game..

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 6-7)

Sol4ris

Still playing Outer Worlds 2.
Loving the environmental story telling, and how it encourages out the box thinking (in a similar vein to immersive sims) when doing quests.
I'm taking my time exploring everything and doing all the side quests, and just reached Cloister and Praetor.
Planning on playing a few races in FM and some Halo Infinite firefight.
Happy gaming to all.

Re: Xbox Exec Talks Game Pass And Suggests Developer Enthusiasm Hasn't Wavered For It

Sol4ris

@BossBE

I doubt it. Honestly, itโ€™d be better if they just stopped talking altogether

If only you could convey your message to those pesky journalists constantly pestering Microsoft GM's/Executives with GamePass or Xbox related questions, so they can stop talking....Or better yet, ask the other platform holders about their subscription services and how is the enthusiasm of the odd day one release developers there?..

Re: Xbox Exec Talks Game Pass And Suggests Developer Enthusiasm Hasn't Wavered For It

Sol4ris

Is it worth the money now that prices have gone up?

Thats highly subjective, isn't it? For my money it's the best subscription service by a country mile. And, I'm very happy it works out for developers too, the more, the merrier.
I think in the end, GamePass will always be ostracised, scrutinised to within an inch of it's existence until such time that Sony (and possibly Nintendo?) will do it too. Then it will become the best thing since the invention of the light bulb ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜….

Re: Xbox Series X|S Could Go Up In Price Again Due To Potential RAM Shortages, It's Claimed

Sol4ris

Is it all AI's fault?

A quick search brought this up:

Microsoft owns a significant stake in OpenAI, which was recently solidified at approximately 27% following an agreement in October 2025. This stake is valued at roughly $135 billion and grants Microsoft access to OpenAI's technology until 2032

I think we need to draw our own conclusions when comparing priorities between the AI push and Xbox within Microsoft.
PlayStation and Nintendo are extremely important revenue makers for their parent corporations when compared to Xbox directly...

Re: Sarah Bond Insists Hardware Is 'Absolutely Core' To Xbox, Teases Powerful Next-Gen Console

Sol4ris

@x3King84

Sure, lest we forget the takes from all other corporate executives:

-"Hulst and Sony leadership considered Concord a potentially massive, "Star Wars-like" property, envisioning it as a billion-dollar franchise"

-"We belive in generations", said Jim Ryan. Than subsequently, Sony later released several PS5 games on the PS4, including Ragnarok, HFW, pretty much contradicting that statement, etc.

All companies shift and pivot on a regular basis....was that your point?

@Medic_alert

Personally i'm holding off because there is no concrete evidence that Xbox will be in a state that works for me

And that is perfectly fine. Not everything works for everyone, Iโ€™m in the same boat on whatever Iโ€™ll buy the next console from Sony, in light of the noises Microsoft are making about having multiple storefronts on their next machine.
Iโ€™m trying to leave the walled garden ecosystems behind and Iโ€™m hoping the next Xbox will allow me to do just that.
