Happy 25th Xbox!
I bought my one in the summer of 2002 with the PGR and Halo CE (had a PS2 at the time too). It became my primary gaming platform and never changed since. So many great gaming memories, and long it may continue.

Excellent. I've been eyeing up.the gold edition for SW Outlaws for some time, so this will do me nicely in the meantime. I also look forward to Mio.

Looking forward for the gameplay reveal for Blade. The Dishonoured games are some of the best immersive sims ever made, serious pedigree to live up to, and I have high hopes for Blade..
Voted for a 2027 release window, hopefully on next-gen consoles. .

So if Microsoft would have come out and deny it when this got leaked, all of the people (regularly outraged here) who apparently don't belive a word from Microsoft would have suddenly been content with their answer...riiiight 😅.

Being a contender it's the easy part, compared to the herculanean task of actually winning it 😁.

Clockwork Revolution and Fable could be serious contenders if released next year, but who knows.
Then there's this small indie release (GTA VI) to factor in, plus Wolverine and Saros. I'll be a tough year, but great for gamersnin general.

About 99% of my gaming time on Series X.
I started Astrobot with the kids, so the rest will be PS5.

Actually, dude, I mention these things because they don't happen in a vacuum? You might see it different, and that's fine.I do not.

Outer Worlds 2, and I'm starting Blue Prince (pencil and paper at the ready😁). I've just wrapped up Lost Records (very emotional) and loved it. Thank you, DON'T NOD.
I'll do some Infinite firefight and the customary FM races.

I can't say I've ever played a Blizzard game, but I watched all their CGI trailers for their respective franchises. I find them incredible, best in class introductions 😁.

I want to try the game, but the install size puts that thought on hold for me. It's just too laaarge..

I've also seen you basically defend their studio introducing crunch at the work place. How do you reconcile these very different attitudes with an objective stance (right?) when it comes to Sony, Microsoft related news?....

The PD reboot is such a perplexing case. We got a vertical slice of the project after almost half a decade of development, which allegedly was kinda fake, but later clarified to have some fake stuff by a former dev. Now we keep hearing how far ahead the game was before Microsoft pulled the plug on the project.
Would be nice to find out one day who has been or is economical with the truth in this sad saga..

I should make time to play Doom TDA, and see what the fuss is all about.
Also, a game from a Microsoft owned studios wins something and unsurprisingly people are up on arms over it....shocking😅

I played this (on GamePass) with my kids and we had a great time, I've subsequently bought it too.
I'm quite surprised that nobody is laying the blame game at the proverbial feet of GamePass...yet.

Probably because the game is also on PlayStation, where people actually buy games....

There are quite a few third-party exclusive experiences on PS5 amigo. This is just the latest one to be confirmed...this is no outlier for Sony.

I'm still playing Outer Worlds 2 and I'll also start Lost Records. Followed by a few FM races and the Infinite mp.

Definitely interested in Fort Solis. But man, I don't understand some of these smaller developers releasing games on a platform 2 years later, and then complaining of poor sales (I can forsee this floping on the Series consoles).
If you make a conscious decision, then don't complain about it later, when people virtually forgot about your game..

And why wouldn't they? The more successful the game is on playstation, the larger the amount of money will be from selling it on their store..I wonder if Halo studios will enable cross-platform co-op, it would be nice.

Backwards Compatibility Still Adds So Much Value To Xbox Series X|S In 2025

Indeed it adds fantastic value to Xbox X|S consoles, even if it's far off full BC.
And compared to Sony's non existing PS3 efforts, Microsoft are light years ahead with their BC and 4k/60fps boost programme.

Still playing Outer Worlds 2.
Loving the environmental story telling, and how it encourages out the box thinking (in a similar vein to immersive sims) when doing quests.
I'm taking my time exploring everything and doing all the side quests, and just reached Cloister and Praetor.
Planning on playing a few races in FM and some Halo Infinite firefight.

Microsoft already has an incredible line up for next year, and they should give InXile as much time as they need to bring their vision to full fruition. A 2027 release will be great.

Obsidian are a great studio, with an exceptional release cadence of great games. Hopefully this news will make them even better. What I secretly wish for is for them to make a sequel for Alpha Protocol😁, on a more respectable budget.

This year has been absolutely epic for Game Pass and next year looks to be even better.
The breadth of games and genres is amazing, and as some other poster mentioned Games Pass is light years ahead of similar services.

If only you could convey your message to those pesky journalists constantly pestering Microsoft GM's/Executives with GamePass or Xbox related questions, so they can stop talking....Or better yet, ask the other platform holders about their subscription services and how is the enthusiasm of the odd day one release developers there?..

Thats highly subjective, isn't it? For my money it's the best subscription service by a country mile. And, I'm very happy it works out for developers too, the more, the merrier.
I think in the end, GamePass will always be ostracised, scrutinised to within an inch of it's existence until such time that Sony (and possibly Nintendo?) will do it too. Then it will become the best thing since the invention of the light bulb 😅😅.

I hope you’re right and Sony won’t (see) the need for a PS6 push adoption. As someone who will go with the PC hybrids option, it would suit me just fine.

Very glad to see this list going (somewhat) against the Game Awards nominations, giving some much deserved attention to other games too. It’s also refreshing to see different opinions and perspectives from gamecovering outlets.

Most excellent. Ill be getting the upgrade, looks like having this digitally is an advantage here (although I'm not even sure if Xbox even has the games on physical).

I used Gaming Copilot for a little bit and I like it. It will definitely get a great deal of use from me.

I think we need to draw our own conclusions when comparing priorities between the AI push and Xbox within Microsoft.
PlayStation and Nintendo are extremely important revenue makers for their parent corporations when compared to Xbox directly...

And that is perfectly fine. Not everything works for everyone, I’m in the same boat on whatever I’ll buy the next console from Sony, in light of the noises Microsoft are making about having multiple storefronts on their next machine.
I’m trying to leave the walled garden ecosystems behind and I’m hoping the next Xbox will allow me to do just that.
