The production values in Fable are dialled up to insane and that can't be done on the cheap. With money to be made on PS and likely Switch 2, it would be an easy decision Microsoft to port it.
I've stayed out of the main article breaking this news to preserve my sanity π. But here I would like to add that PlayStation players who never played the Horizon games will be in for an absolute treat. FH5 is a fantastic game, enjoy!
Why on Earth would anyone new to gaming choose an Xbox...?
I know this is a simplistic view, but allow me to answer your question with a question of my own if Imay:
Why does anyone new to mobile phones or buying phones in general chose IPhone over Samsung, or Huawei, or Motorola, or Honour, or Oppo etc?
There will slways be/is a reason why customers choose differently.
Now, of course there's always a chance Microsoft might fully quit the hardware part of gaming, but, until GamePass can be played on the likes of PlayStation and Nintendo, something I can't see happening any time soon than having hardware for future and existing customers (for GamePass) is of vital importance to Microsoft. Just my opinion.
to focus on improving the profitability of the business" in order to better position it for long-term growth, driven by higher-margin content and platform services
I hope they'll not forget us, the people who subscribe to GamePass for the wonderfully rich indie and A- AA content. Indiana Jones is fantastic too.
Game Pass is an important component of playing the games on our platform, but to keep games off of other platforms...that's not a path for us, it doesn't work for us
This is the clearest on Microsoft's multiplatform initiative to date.
All we have to do now is to wait for the PlayStation fans to stop pretending to care about Xbox's direction with the concern trolling and we are peach.π
I would only consider buying it as part of a premium edition with campaign DLC included. I love Obsidian's games and that digital art book sounds nice, but it's too steep a price just for that and to play a few days earlier. I can wait π.
The first and only people saying everyday that Xbox is dying are PS fans/Xbox haters
Right?
It's starts of with Microsoft is bringing their games to [insert platforms], Xbox is finished. No more Xbox hardware from Microsoft, once they are done with the gloating they flourish it with the obligatory this will be/is terrible for everyone. Hard to make it up but here we areπ .
I want everybody to be able to play on Xbox and it does mean more of our games shipping on more platforms
Excellent!
I also want to play on Xbox, and if people with Nintendo and PlayStation as their primary platforms get to enjoy games from Microsoft owned developers than the merrier it is.
I've read an article a while back on EG about MacchineGames being asked about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS, and they seemed genuinely excited for the opportunity of the game being played on more platforms, hopefully Switch 2 s well.
"We're not going to put walls up"
That's great! Leave the putting up walls to Trump supportersπ.
absolutely, all the GP hate, Xbox is dead hate. Look at week Sony has had. 3 cancelled games
I see your points, and what I find most peculiar is that the vast majority of GP hate /Xbox hate comes from a particular subset of [****] fan(boys)...Perhaps that's how they cope with it, the better GP becomes the more vitriolic the attacks, be it here or as you put it the other website.π
South of Midnight looked fantastic and it's the kind of game I hope Microsoft will allow and support it's devs to make. Expedition 33 is shaping up to be something quite special. Doom looks incredible and Ninja Gaiden 2 Black - Legend. GamePass is once again shaping up to deliver a fantastic year of gaming for me.
Microsoft owning the publishing rights to the game and it's potential sequels might be an indication why Sony didn't pursue a SO remaster. Edited: Microsoft also owned the publishing rights to Alan Wake but sold it back to Remedy. Perhaps something similar might happen with SO.
Ted seems to be a great person, I remember reading a while back that his ex- studio Insomniac was voted best place to work a couple of times.
getting a ps6 dev kit shouldn't be assumed. One of Jim Ryan's arguments at the FTC trial was that CoD on playstation would suffer specifically because they wouldn't give Microsoft PS devkits in advance of a new console
It shuld definitely be assumed that ABK/Microsoft will have PS6 dev-kits. Jim Rayan's throwaway comments about PS6 dev-kits were just that, throwaway comments to see what sticks and drive a hard bargain regarding COD on playstation, nothing more.
For all the drama surrounding the ABK takeover, I think it turned out quite good for gamers, more so for those who generally don't play on Xbox (in light of Microsoft's bringing more games to more people, approach).
Nah fella, you're alright π . You are clearly just as disingenuous as the post claiming that the current Switch is more powerful than Series S, or, your comprehension skills let you down spectacularly.
End of discussion indeed.
Yes, it's now more and more apparent that becoming a reasonably big publisher they also want/need to make money from other platforms than Xbox and PCπ. The combined potential customers on PlayStation and Nintendo is enormous.
At least I own every platform so my takes have more weight than fanboys on any of these sites
Well that is one way to look at things I guess. I too own two of the three consoles on the market, Series X and PS5 but don't feel like I should wilfully troll owners of other platforms.
Xbox this gen isn't that good, sorry
That depends. If we look at exclusive games for bragging rights than yes, Xbox is (severely)lacking. But as a piece of hardware, the features it has and the variety of games on GP or otherwise, its been excellent. Then again I'm not terribly fused if XGS games can be played on different platforms...
Phil Spencer - It's only 4 games and that doesn't mean the flood gates are open
And subsequently Phil Spencer also said that (basically) there are no red lines when it comes to games and their multiplatform strategy... There's no need for Xbox fans to give oxygen to Sony trolls like yourself to troll Xbox articles further at every opportunity π.
I'm aware, hence why I stated it's not for me. There are reasons why my primary platform is Xbox even if I'm a PS5 owner too (cue, the Xbox controller is one of those reasons). But thanks for making an account to tell everyone how much you love the dualsenseπ .
2026 is way to early in my opinion.
For a start, how much will this true next-gen console retail for, expecially in light of Sony's pricing of the PS5pro at Β£699 for a disc-less model. Can Microsoft afford to have a console on the market that is even more expensive? I very much doubt it, hence why I think a late 2027 would make more sense.
Definitely not great for series x if it doesnβt get 60fps and PS5 Pro does
I don't know mate, conversely, it would be even worse if the PS5pro will not have 60fps. After all it's not the Series X sporting a pro tagline(including the price) console this gen.
But I suspect the pro will likely have a 60fps option, perhaps even the Series X, with some cutbacks.
Seeing a post from you not lamenting Xbox consoles sales it's a rarer phenomenon than Microsoft actually doing advertising for it π. Jesting aside, I don't know mate, perhaps they never had any substantial stock of Xbox consoles to begin with...
The number of people who wait for games to hit GamePass is sad
As a GPU subscriber since the beginning of the service and, as someone who also waits for certain titles to hit GamePass, what is sad about it?
I'm saying this as someone who bought more games that appeared on the service than at any time before GamePass was a thing. My case might be an outlier here, but in no way sad.
Even if it makes an appearance at the show (which would be great) it's unlikely to release this year. We already have Avowed, Doom Eternal, South of Midnight, Outer Worlds 2, and potentially Fable. That is a good amount of first-party games for this year.

Game of the show for me.
