I'm 72h into Avowed and entered the last area, what a great game! I just loved exploring it's world getting all totem items (finally a game with actual worthwhile collectibles) and treasure items. If I manage to finish, I'll be moving on to Atomfall. Happy gaming to all.
It's not just Sony anyway, as Square Enix announced SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered for a ridiculous number of platforms except Xbox
This, this right here it's something worth reporting on, since Squeenix are constantly stating how they want to support Xbox and bring their games to as many platforms as possible yet they pull sh*t like this.
As for Sony not sharing ip's with Xbox it should, by now, be a complete non - story.
March has been a fairly quiet month for Xbox Game Pass
I would probably need about 24 quiet months for Xbox GamePass just to do some catching up on my backlog ๐. And like you say Atomfall is still to come. I'm about to enter the last major area in Avowed at lv 27 and just love the combat combinations it allows. Hopefully I'll finish up before South of Midnight and Claire Obscure. I also want to play some Atomfall too.
thought xbox has no games? And no one wanted them on Ps
You are jesting ๐, but that notion was dreamed up and then proceeded to reside rent free in the minds of PlayStation fanboys....Xbox always had games.
whether Sony could potentially block PlayStation games from appearing on there.
I can absolutely see Sony blocking games, especially if the rumoured Xbox handheld materialises . This, after all is a company that money-hated Squeenix to the point that FF7R is still not on Xbox platforms half a decade later.
Interestingly what this piece also shows is how entrenched some Sony fan(boys??) really are about exclusivity and the giddy feeling they get knowing only people with a certain plastic box can play some games....
This game can be played on Steam Deck yet somehow the Series S is not powerful enough and an insurmountable challenge for the developer.....riiiight ๐ .
So happy people care a great deal about Beyond Good and Evil ๐. I think Splinter Cell would be a great IP too, especially since Konami no longer cares about the tactical espionage action genre. Than again Microsoft have plenty in their IP portfolio as is.
I don't really know, my naming convention would likely be worse than Microsoft's, a very low bar๐. OK, how about Windows Handheld PC (HPC), I'll see myself out๐.
"But they do get a lot of flack for making remakes, so i think his comment was fair enough"
I guess their observation was more of baiting comment than anything else, and they are likely aware that in the context of remakes, re-releases or remasters of past games, Sony is way ahead of Microsoft. Personally, I'm not against the approach because I have no obligation to buy said games, regardless of whom is behind them.
"Rather than simply displaying leftover add-ons and shrinkable games, we will now also include recommendations like removing duplicate copies or games you no longer have access to"
Yes, this is most welcome. I reached the point where I have to uninstall games on a weekly basis due to space shortage. And no, I'm really not willing to encourage Microsoft's (expensive) approach to expanding SSD storage.
I cannot see Microsoft acquiring anything significant from Ubisoft's IP portfolio, given their ABK expenditure and studios shuttering. With that said, I wouldn't mind having Ubisoft + as part of GPU.
If true, I hope is or will the include Beyond Good and Evil IP and possibly Far Cry or even the RS or Ghost Recon. With Microsoft new multiplatform strategy people should be able to play these games regardless of platforms. I just want someone to make BGE, dammit.
My main system has always been / is Xbox. I have a huge digital library, love the ecosystem and if they decide to go with a PC like experience I don't mind. Will be there day one, bar some colossal fudge up by Microsoft.
If this will be priced above the Steam Deck (partnering with other hardware makers tends to be expensive) than it will have an Everst sized mountain to climb. I'm very interested in an Xbox handheld, but price will play a crucial role for me.
"Not sure why we have to have all this mystery. We Sony are making a PS6 home console and working with AMD with FSR 4"
Besides working with AMD and having the inevitable RDNA/FSR4 as upscaler we know next to nothing of the PS6 either.
Microsoft will reveal more when ready, assuming /save for the usual leaks, rumours, speculation, etc.
"to come to other platforms at some stage - hopefully on Xbox sooner rather than later!"
If it happens at all it's definitely in the later camp. After all it's a timed(?) exclusive to Sony- the undisputed kings of very loooong timed exclusivity deals... Perhaps on Microsoft's next-gen console, I'm eating fantastically well on Xbox in the meantime.
I'm 46 hours into Avowed and loving the gorgeous world Obsidian created. The exploration, movement and combat are outstanding too. So more Avowed for me for the time being ๐.
This was on my gaming radar ever since it was first revealed and Rebelion are very reliable with their output. Look forward for some serious Fallout style survival exploration, it's been too long since Fallout 4.
@The Giraffe
Yeah, I feel bad for devs that make great games on/for GP
Why would you feel bad? - It's not like the developers are putting games on the service without getting paid by Microsoft.
My approach with games on GamePass has always been to play them ( if I'm interested and like the game), than subsequently buying them outright when on a sale. This way the developer gets rewarded twice, once from Microsoft and once from me.
"The team has been hard at work, and while we're not ready to share specific details just yet, we have a lot of exciting things planned for the game this year that we can't wait to talk about when the time is right"
Very happy to see Bethesda still committed to the game. It's not for everyone but I personally loved Starfield and hope they'll stick with their original DLC expansion plan,- I'm ready for more exploration ๐.
Of course they have an-announced stuff , it's no different to any other gaming company out there.
@Lup
"It's crazy how all these big games are coming to Game Pass. Its value is just unmatched"
Not if the PS fanboys are anything to go by (in GamePass related articles), they are cancelling their imaginary GamePass subscriptions because apparently it offers no value ๐ ๐ .
"Over here on Team Green, we're still waiting for Silent Hill 2 to show up on our consoles; having been a PS5 and PC exclusive since its launch last year"
Yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath for SH2 on Xbox anytime soon, given Sony's notoriously long third-party exclusivity deals...
Give Playground the time they need to make Fable amazing...
This year was already stacked with games from XGS, Avowed just launched then there's Doom, Outer Worlds 2, South of Midnight, possibly another COD, it will be a fantastic year for Xbox and gamers in general ๐.

"Ninja Gaiden 4 being developed by a Xbox studio"? ๐ค
Yeah, low hanging fruits and all that... I have already mentioned this on a different thread - big thumbs up to Microsoft for aiming to be transparent with their multiplatform strategy.

With outmost respect, I think we'll have to agree to disagree with your deduction on what the developer is saying ๐.
I mean, yes, it is commendable that they got it to run on the S, but in what negative way did this impact the superior consoles
The dev is saying that it in fact, it helped the superior consoles in this particular case. And if we are using a particular line of questioning, how were the monster gaming PC rigs affected by the significantly less powerful superior consoles?
But, since you have to 'dial down' in a few things and have to be clever where you can in the programming and in the code and so on, and be able to save memory here and there - some of these optimizations for [Xbox Series] S benefit the other consoles as well
We've been told time and again by the Series S bashing bandwagon, that the console is the reason of all the bad things with games development this gen by holding things back, blah, blah, etc, etc. These developers (here) have no idea what they are talking about. ๐ ๐
