For years and years and years at this point, people have been clamouring for the return of the iconic "Blades" dashboard from the early days of the Xbox 360 era, and Xbox boss Asha Sharma actually teased it earlier this year.
Now, Xbox CTO Scott Van Vliet has taken to social media to reveal that he's been "cooking up" a new version of the Xbox Blades dashboard along with other designs from the Xbox 360 generation as part of the new Xbox Labs division - a project that was announced last week to turn "emerging ideas" into new experiences.
In other words, they're seemingly experimenting with AI (amidst other techologies) to see what's possible for the future.
As you can see, Xbox boss Asha Sharma has also highlighted the Blades part of the video specifically, questioning fans on whether they "like this experiment" - although it should be noted that she only talks about "Blades on web" rather than console as things stand.
Her tweet alone has 24,000 likes and half a million views though, so we reckon it's very possible this kind of thing could make its way into Xbox's Project Helix console down the line, along with whatever they might use it for on PC.
Who knows what the future holds in that regard, but it's certainly interesting to see the Blades being highlighted in this way once again. Maybe it's an easy win to encourage people that Xbox Labs is a good thing? It might work!
