Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 12-13) 1

Alright weekend lovers, our time has spun around again and it's time to play some games!

As far as weeks go, it's been a pretty tepid one for new releases, but don't forget about the Free Play Days offering, alongside some publisher spotlight sales on the Xbox Store too.

So, let's get right into it, here's what we're playing on Xbox this weekend:

Do you ever find yourself in those 'frustration voids' whenever you complete a game and don't know what to start next? That's what happened to me post-Star Wars Zero Company. Phwoar, what a game!

Boy, am I glad to finally be playing Onimusha: Way of the Sword then. My pre-order got delayed, and I thought I'd practice patience and wait for the bugger to arrive. Only each day it was supposed to arrive, the delivery date just kept stretching a little further out of reach.

Oddly, however, I started playing Exoprimal. It wasn't on my to-play list, but I was entertaining writing something about Capcom games and thought I'd hop into it. Is it weird to say I'm having a really good time with it? The player base is virtually non-existent, with myself becoming the 40th person to play the multiplayer shooter in the past 30 days. I reckon I'll play some of that, and possibly even check out Valheim now it's out of Early Access.

So, I'm a big ice hockey fan and I went to the Manchester Storm's new (but actually old) arena last week for their homecoming game - over 11,000 people in attendance which marked the second biggest crowd in British ice hockey history! As a result, I'm even more into NHL 27 than I was before, and I'll be playing a lot of it over the weekend.

I do actually plan to play some other stuff as well though. Again, Mafia: Definitive Edition is still on my list, and I'm also keen to check out a couple of releases from the past few days - specifically Mewgenics and Sprawl Zero.

My Evercade Alpha might get some playtime over the weekend too, and I'm really enjoying Mario Kart DS with the wife at the moment - we're playing it about four times per-week in the evenings. It might be old but it's still a classic, and she absolutely adores it more than any other Mario Kart game we've tried to date.
