Poll: What Do You Think Of Assassin's Creed Black Flag In General?

One of my favourite in the AC series. I remember being blown away by the water physics and naval battles were epic too, especially once you gained some notoriety.
In short, I loved it and still have the PS3 disc which had an option to upgraded for PS4 version (via payment of course 😁).
I'm hoping to buy BF resynced soon.

Its a very good pirate game which they should of went with at the time maybe there own franchise separate from assassin's Creed I think.
I think of at as a game on it's own rather than an assassin's Creed game in my mind anyways.
The ezio and Desmond storyline was peak for me I loved that whole arc.
The end of Desmond was a natural end to assassin's Creed to me.

I really like it as a pirate game, I was never a big Assassin's Creed fan but I really enjoyed Black and am loving the remake so far, especially as they've seemingly removed all of that boring nonsense from the present day

The history buff in me loved the main parts of the game set in the West Indies with all the political strife, piracy etc going on.

The tech buff in me loved the exceptional water physics and then-newish SSR implementation, along with the suitably highly detailed assets (for the time).

The gamer in me hated that stupid cheesy Abstergo crap that was an unnecessary attempt at tying all the disparate AC games together. They should have left all the modern day sections on the cutting room floor and made each AC game a bespoke experience. The gamer in me also found the combat to be, well, pure crap. It’s bad, no way to tiptoe around that. The gamer in me also found the trophy/achievement lists to be mostly fine, with the exception of the god awful online-server-dependent public event achievements. Those are finnicky, unreliable to trigger, add nothing to the experience and should have been excised like the tumor they are.

All in all, I’ve played much better games but I’ve also suffered through far worse. It’s decent enough to play through once, for the story.

It's the last great Assassin's Creed game for me. I wonder if a Black Flag 2 is in the works. I would have preferred Prince of Persia though.

If they do. Black Flag 2…my take:

• ex Pirate that goes John Wick on the rest of them and that is how piracy ended…mostly.
• still have your own ship and crew built from the pirates you take down.
• location: the seven seas…where ever pirates be!

One of the weakest AC games imo. It's a fine pirate game though.

I replayed the original a couple months ago. It holds up extremely well.

I have been watching some of resynced on twitch. It looks great but I question if its worth the $60 price tag for someone who has beat the game a few times. I will wait for a sale. The original when its on sale for $3.99 is an easy recommendation.

Wasn't that taken with the original, it felt like whole areas were empty, almost as if the developers didn't have time to fill it with content. Combat was clumsy as well. Visually, as is often the case with Ubisoft, it was very impressive. Sailing the high seas also paved the way for the much better AC Odyssey.

However, the AC series has been very hit and miss so I won't be picking up Resynced

Absolutely loved the original (though it hasn't aged as well as I thought it might and AC improved upon it with Origins et al) and can't wait to play this one. Incredibly evocative pirate game, and I love pirate history - absolutely fascinating time period with some characters who it's hard to believe were actually real people.

I love AC so I'll always get the latest release, but this one I'm really stoked for. Just have to show some self control and finish a couple of games off first.

i think it’s a waste of money buying the same game again with added fluff

but ac4 is the second best ac after ac2. it was fun as hell playing it back in the day. and i say this as someone who likes ac3 the most , but i place ac2 and ac4 as the best objectively

@Sol4ris hey you know what’s strange, i actually have ac4 on my xbox360 (digitally) somehow, i have no idea how i got it nor played it, but hey im grateful that its there! 😆 i played this on PS4 and nearly platinumed it though

Haven't played through Black Flag yet.
Tried it back on the 360 in like 2014 and dropped it pretty fast as I didn't vibe with the pirate setting at all, thought it was a pretty dumb setting to have while also having the memory desync mechanic in place if you strayed just a bit too far outside of the current memory's story area.

But!
I did buy it on Switch earlier this year and I'm planning on playing through it once and for all just to have it done.

Same here, I have all the trophies save for the ones related to the MP modes.
I also have Black Flag on XboxOne via Games with Gold I think, but never had the time to play it. Perhaps that's how you have it on the X360 too.

Never like it - It felt like it should have been a new IP but they had no faith in making a Pirate game so pushed AC into it to sell. I never liked the ship combat and the main character didn't feel like he was part of the guild of Assassins or would belong to it.

I'd started losing interest in AC after they tried to put unnecessary features like MP into the AC2 direct Sequels and by AC4, that was the game that just about killed my interest in the Franchise until Origins brought me back. Odyssey almost killed it with some design choices - inc the ship combat again. In any case, I won't be buying AC4 or going back to the OG via BC.

That is the ONLY reason never got into assassin's creed. For me, I would enjoyed it million times more and actually played the series if machine was out. Feel franchise be best if played as historical period pieces. Not some crazy sci-fi stuff.

I loved it at first my partner got me it for my birthday when it came out for PS3, but as soon as it went outside of the Animus and started doing it more and more I was getting annoyed and bored because it was breaking the pace of the game.

The sailing and the setting were perfect really was but then to take it all away for ages to be outside in their main office, going around people's desk grabbing little figures FFS I ended up quitting. Black Flag and AC3 put me off the games ever since AC3 on PS3 was awful because the control entry lag and Framerate was poor

Since they took it all out I'm now interested but when it's on sale but it will be on DISC

The original is one of the best AC games. Haven't played resynched yet.

I wish they could make new games instead of rehashing 13 year old junk from the archives.

AC Black Flag was my intro to AC and probably the best one, from what I can tell. I played it on Wii U and really loved it, especially the pirate stuff. That said, I have no interest in the remake, since the original is still modern and I don't own any console that would play the new version anyway.

Having a blast, diving into to beautiful world of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, a remake that is done on an remarkable level. Another masterpiece by Ubisoft. #GoodTimes

I 100%ed Story Mode on the Xbox One version last year as I played it on Series X. I also own it with AC Rogue as part of a unique Nintendo Switch package collection. So I am in no hurry to rush back into this and besides I am still on a fully modded Fallout 4 playthrough kick as it is. My 33rd birthday is next month so I'll wait to get this then or I might just wait for a deep sale, not sure right now.

Still waiting for a new game to play.

@Tasuki where did you get a shiny PS4? I've only seen the matte black ones.
