Re: Xbox Exec Talks Game Pass And Suggests Developer Enthusiasm Hasn't Wavered For It

@BossBE

I doubt it. Honestly, it’d be better if they just stopped talking altogether

If only you could convey your message to those pesky journalists constantly pestering Microsoft GM's/Executives with GamePass or Xbox related questions, so they can stop talking....Or better yet, ask the other platform holders about their subscription services and how is the enthusiasm of the odd day one release developers there?..

Re: Xbox Exec Talks Game Pass And Suggests Developer Enthusiasm Hasn't Wavered For It

Is it worth the money now that prices have gone up?

Thats highly subjective, isn't it? For my money it's the best subscription service by a country mile. And, I'm very happy it works out for developers too, the more, the merrier.
I think in the end, GamePass will always be ostracised, scrutinised to within an inch of it's existence until such time that Sony (and possibly Nintendo?) will do it too. Then it will become the best thing since the invention of the light bulb 😅😅.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Could Go Up In Price Again Due To Potential RAM Shortages, It's Claimed

Is it all AI's fault?

A quick search brought this up:

Microsoft owns a significant stake in OpenAI, which was recently solidified at approximately 27% following an agreement in October 2025. This stake is valued at roughly $135 billion and grants Microsoft access to OpenAI's technology until 2032

I think we need to draw our own conclusions when comparing priorities between the AI push and Xbox within Microsoft.
PlayStation and Nintendo are extremely important revenue makers for their parent corporations when compared to Xbox directly...

Re: Sarah Bond Insists Hardware Is 'Absolutely Core' To Xbox, Teases Powerful Next-Gen Console

@x3King84

Sure, lest we forget the takes from all other corporate executives:

-"Hulst and Sony leadership considered Concord a potentially massive, "Star Wars-like" property, envisioning it as a billion-dollar franchise"

-"We belive in generations", said Jim Ryan. Than subsequently, Sony later released several PS5 games on the PS4, including Ragnarok, HFW, pretty much contradicting that statement, etc.

All companies shift and pivot on a regular basis....was that your point?

@Medic_alert

Personally i'm holding off because there is no concrete evidence that Xbox will be in a state that works for me

And that is perfectly fine. Not everything works for everyone, I’m in the same boat on whatever I’ll buy the next console from Sony, in light of the noises Microsoft are making about having multiple storefronts on their next machine.
I’m trying to leave the walled garden ecosystems behind and I’m hoping the next Xbox will allow me to do just that.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 1-2)

@Fiendish-Beaver

I'm'm currently level 9 in Outer Worlds 2 on a Very Hard run, and very much enjoying the game

Just a quick question on the dificulty setting. If you choose the very hard option after the character creation and start the game, it seems to revert to normal when you check the game setting menu. Looks to be a bug(?) or something, so it worth checking before going to the intro space station that is still the very hard setting to avoid disappointment😉. It happened to me with the hard setting.

Re: Microsoft CEO Says Xbox 'Wants To Innovate' With Its Next-Gen Console

@Balaam_

If this fails too, will it be more goalpost moving and mitigation in the comments, or will that finally be enough for the apologists to start pointing fingers and laying blame

Yes because pointing fingers and laying blame, will magically bring back the X360 heydays or whatever else you want to entertain...

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About Halo: Campaign Evolved Launching Day One On PS5?

Sol4ris

@TheGameThrifter

Xbox just killed itself

Not really, it's not like Xbox was somehow doing gangbusters. People are/were not interested in Xbox, so Microsoft had to change strategy. Xbox will live on but Under different guise.

What's the point of Xbox at all currently?

Well what’s the point of Samsung, Huawei, Motorola and another bunch of competing mobile phones manufacturers when arguably Apple are or were top dog/brand? There will always be a point for people to prefer an electronic device over other available options, no?

Re: Halo: Campaign Evolved Officially Announced, Coming To Xbox In 2026

Sol4ris

@Questionable_Duck

The question is, as I said before, will they bring the flagship singleplayer titles to Xbox?

I guess that's about as likely as wining the lottery or some other mad statistic😁.
As an owner of a PS5 I'm covered for the few franchises I'm interested in from ND and SM. But there are plenty Xbox folk who would play some of their sp games if tha would ever come to pass.

Re: Halo: Campaign Evolved Officially Announced, Coming To Xbox In 2026

Sol4ris

@Fiendish-Beaver

Yes, it may well be a very capable piece of kit, but it will likely also be the cost of a PS6 and a Series X

I hear you old timer 😉, but I think we have to wait and see how Sony will price their next-gen iteration in the absence of any competition in the high end walled garden console ecosystem. You of course might be right, but I'm not so sure.

Re: Xbox Details All Of The New Content Packed Into Its Halo: Campaign Evolved Remake

Sol4ris

@Banjo-

, I can't imagine the people that played the game on the original Xbox

Oh man, you needed to be there. Experiencing the landing on the Halo ring for the first time, or fighting alongside the marines and trying to keep them alive on The silent cartographer beach landing were truly monumental😁.
The graphics, the sound design, soundtrack, the enemies a.i., were all a generation ahead of what I was playing on PS2 at the time.
