Gears of war 2 and judgement never got any specific high res updates I don’t think. So be great if they got that but then gears of war 3 did and that’s on the list too 🤔

Excited for DOA and max Payne series. If this list joins the other list of ten or so games suggested a little while back next week could be very interesting. 😀

Surprised at how ‘low’ a review score this is given the 10/10 and 5/5 it’s getting elsewhere. Seems wrong to knock it for being ‘more of the same’ but that’s why reviews are subjective I guess. Looking forward to diving in next week.

@Rural-Bandit Digital Foundry has talked about seeing this in the Xbox Labs years ago before the console even launched with near perfect DLSS style upscaling to 4K. They might even have shown footage of it. I imagine something will come of that work eventually.

Used to beta test the mac client for a year or two and played a lot of games on there until I got back into console gaming. If you have the internet to handle it GeForce Now is a great service.

@BlueOcean That's what I mean. If the dashboard is HDR won't it just have to blink when it goes into games that don't support HDR? Not every modern game supports HDR. So you're not eliminating the problem, just making it happen less often. Also, the 'blinking' is fixed as part of the HDMI 2.1 spec I believe. So will go away entirely as we all get new TVs.

@KilloWertz because there’s no good way to do it. I have a killer Sony OLED tv and if I ‘force’ HDR on standard def stuff it just doesn’t look quite right. Also, if the HDR dash was was a thing it would have to change tv signals to play SDR stuff. Not everything is HDR or auto HDR so you’d have the same problem in reverse.

I’m pretty sure this is a fixed issue as part of the HDMI 2.1 spec is fast switching between TV modes.

Can evolve still be played solo with bots? I’m guessing the severs have long since shut down but always wanted to give it a try

It’s not ideal but couldn’t they just make a distinction between solo play cards and multiplayer cards?

L4D2 is still my most played game (and the first thing I installed) on my Series X and I play it solo.

Sad to hear about the limitations of B4B solo play. Hopefully they can make changes everyone is happy with

Seeing as 1 or the twin snakes remake isn’t available on Xbox I’ll take a remake of that 😀 do we really want ‘new’ MGS games without Hideo Kojima at the helm? Maybe if we wait long enough they’ll remake MGS5 with David Hayter’s voice 😝

BC is the reason I went for Xbox and got back into gaming after a 12yr break. Left4Dead 2 is still my most played game. Could they do more? Sure.. and who says work isn’t going on behind closed doors?

Digital Foundry saw gears of war ultimate running with AI upscaling from 1080 to a near perfect 4K over a year ago and it still hasn’t shipped so something is in the works. They’re certainly doing more then the other guys.

All I could think about watching this was I wish pokemon GFX were this good. ☺️

Thought the trailer was pretty cool. But shocked the Dec 8th release was just announced quietly with small text on a screen. Blink and you’d miss it. I mean we know it leaked earlier today but you think they’d have made a bigger deal of it.

Incredible GFX. Some shots here are genuinely photo realistic at times. But they never seem to get the female wrestlers faces right.

There’s a fine line between copying the idea and the implementation. I get imposter games existed before but it seems like Fortnite copied it exactly down to the terminology used in game and even the map.

There have been plenty of FPS games since Doom but not all of them are called Boom and feature a gun called the BFG.

Same as It’s fine to make another open world cowboy game. You can even call it Red Deader. But if you copy the open world exactly down to the last tree and rock surely everyone can agree that’s in bad taste?

Picked some up for me and a buddy today. Delicious. Not usually a fan of the batter filling but the chocolate brownie batter in these is pretty tasty. Will have them again before they disappear I’m sure.

Wish there was an option for both. I’m eager to play both of them.

With the push for back compat Xbox is doing more then anyone else to try and preserve this stuff. I was playing Toobin on my series X today. That blew my mind. Lol

Travelling again recently I’m really enjoying remote play and xCloud streaming on my iPhone and Razer Kishi. I can see this being pretty popular. Apparently steam was brought down by the amount of people trying to pre-order it today so it seems like there’s quite a demand.

I really enjoyed this. If you’re a fan of streets of rage or old school beat em ups it’s pretty fun.

Really enjoyed the movie. I have a really nice OLED and was set to watch it on Disney + but gotta admit I enjoyed seeing it in a theatre with a buddy. I may now have to finally dive in and start the avengers. I really enjoyed the beta and maxed out my Black Widow character.

Totally worth it. Being able to play games that look better, load faster with more FPS is what it’s all about. Loving my Series X and game pass. It genuinely is the best deal in gaming.

This is beyond cool. This game is so much fun.

Is the original Harry Potter game different from the 1-4 and 5-7 collection on Xbox one? I got them in a sale but haven’t played them yet. Lol.

@Hypnotoad107 Vive Pro 2 was announced yesterday with better specs then the PSVR2 headset. It’s entirely possible Valve has a Series X compatible Index 2 in the works. ?

The 4K dashboard is a memory issue. Xbox decided they’d rather keep 1GB for devs & games then have a slightly sharper dashboard and less working memory.

For what it’s worth I feel that’s the right call unless a future version can go 4K without using up system resources.

Wouldn’t have tried shadow warrior series had the 2nd game not been a Reward challenge one week but really loved the game and sense of humour it has.

Any game that opens with ‘you’ve got the touch’ from the Transformers movie blaring at full blast gets my attention. Looking forward to 3. 😀

Makes sense. One day soon an Xbox app will just be like a Netflix app or Disney plus app. There might even be Xbox buttons on remote controls to launch the app. That doesn’t take anything away for anyone with an Xbox. Just means more people to play with.

Based on Phil’s specific wording around the Bethesda thing of ‘exclusive to platforms game pass is on’ I’m guessing it’s streaming for switch. There’s bound to be an app for Smart TVs like Netflix too. Probably with Samsung first of al.

One thing that seems to be missing in all these stories is Sony didn’t allow anything. And they aren’t getting money from Xbox. Why would they?

When the MLB license was up in 2019 MLB only agreed to license it to Sony on condition they made it available for other platforms. So they bit the bullet and caved.

MLB isn’t ‘paying’ Sony to make an Xbox version nor is Sony getting any money from Game Pass. MLB is the publisher here. It’s a condition of their license that Sony make an Xbox version.

When I got back into console gaming with a One X Left4Dead 2 and the extra maps was the first thing I bought. I still play it often now on my Series X. Looks pretty great in 4K. Can’t wait for this.

Game Pass day one would be amazing, but its the only game where I’ve added the super deluxe £99 version to my wish list. Delaying just gives me more time to save up reward points. 😀

Death loop is the one PS5 game that has me curious. I’ll definitely check it out. Presumably in a year when it hits game pass with collected dlc no doubt.

@BleedingDreamer I think it’s because it’s so variable. Not everyone who has it notices it and also it depends on your TV.

I would love for pure Xbox to run a poll to see if people have audio sync issues with Xbox and help draw attention to it to get Microsoft to add that. It certainly seems to be a thing.
