This week is a huge one for Xbox Game Pass, with loads of titles hitting the service (including a couple of original Xbox classics today), and the two highlights are the day one launches of Microsoft Flight Simulator and The Ascent.
Flight Simulator will be with us as soon as tomorrow, July 27, while The Ascent arrives on Thursday, July 29. Both will offer very different experiences, and will likely attract very different audiences. So, with that in mind, we're intrigued to know which of the two you're more excited to try with Game Pass this week!
Check out the info and trailers below, and let us know your verdict down in the poll and comments.
Microsoft Flight Simulator: Xbox Series X, Series S
Microsoft Flight Simulator is the next generation of one of the most beloved simulation franchises. From light planes to wide-body jets, fly highly detailed and stunning aircraft in an incredibly realistic world.
The Ascent: Console, PC, Cloud
The Ascent is a solo and co-op Action-shooter RPG set in a cyberpunk world. The mega corporation that owns you and everyone, The Ascent Group, has just collapsed. Can you survive without it?
Which of these two upcoming Game Pass additions are you most excited for? Tell us down below.

Wish there was an option for both. I’m eager to play both of them.
Personally I'm more interested in the local co-op in The Ascent, but I'll check out Flight Simulator as well.
Yep, refuse to answer this because it’s both! And I’d also add Omno to the list of most anticipated GP games this week!
I'm waiting for The Ascent, but I guess I'll try MFS just to see what it's like to fly like Harrison Ford- having a lot of close calls and near misses 🤣 Just to be clear- I love the guy, but he probably shouldn't be flying anymore.
Crashing into peoples houses like a lunatic YES! Delving into a seedy blood thirsty cyberpunk world YES! Yes is my answer. Just...yes.
@gollumb82 he's no Han solo thats for sure
Of these, the Ascent. But Fuga Melodies of Steel is what I’m really hyped for on Xbox this week.
Easily The Ascent for me. I'll mess around with Flight Simulator, fly above my hometown and some tourist spots, share some pics with my friends, but I don't think that's a game that will keep my interest for long.
I think Flight Sim will be one of those games I'm in awe with in terms of graphics and rendering the entire Earth, but just mess around with due to the difficulty, whereas I can see myself getting fully drawn in to The Ascent.
Very easy for me, The Ascent. I know I’m in the minority here, but flight sims just aren’t my thing so I couldn’t care less about it, though I’m happy for all those who love the series and are getting it on console.
I'm super excited to do one single flight in Flight Sim to gawk at the graphics and then never play again. I'm also super excited to annoy my wife into playing The Ascent once or twice.
Have to go with The Ascent by default. Excited to try Flight simulator but won't have access for some time. Always great to have another local coop game!
More excited for Flight Simulator, but I've been waiting to play that on my Series X for ages now and it's a reason I got the console. The Ascent does genuinely look awesome too however! Hope both games end up awesome
The Ascent because I know I'll really play it while flight sim will be something I play occasionally just to fly over something I want to see in game.
The Ascent. No matter how great they make them, I've never been interested in a Flight Simulator release. Hopefully The Ascent turns out to be pretty good though.
The Ascent, mainly because it's more of a game than flight sim is, I don't have a hotas so I doubt I can enjoy it much. Don't get me weong though, I'm still planning on crashing a plane into my house tomorrow.
@awp69 yeah for sure, it looks really great. Would even daresay it needs a dedicated review.
The Ascent, definitely The Ascent.
I’m really excited for both, but I think Flight sim just edges it cos it’s never been seen on a console before.
Can't wait to play both, but with no next gen console Flight Sim will have to wait.
Already have MSFS on my PC but am excited to play it on my Series X anyway. Can I pick "both?" I pick both.
