Re: Robocop: Rogue City Gameplay Trailer Revealed, Coming To Xbox Series X|S Next Summer

Scenes

I’’m not that familiar with the ’Terminator got an update on PS5 but not Xbox’ situation. But my first thought isn’t to boycott the developer. Maybe Sony funded them to do it and MS passed on it. Would you have liked them to work for free for six months for parity on both platforms? Maybe I’m just old but I don’t understand the entitled gamer mindset. 🤷‍♂️ if they’re ignoring questions on it, of course that’s iffy. But I wouldn’t automatically jump to conclusions. For all we know there’s an NDA preventing them discussing it. This Robocop game is hitting all the right buttons for me. Instabuy day one.

Re: Team Xbox Is 'Very Aware' Of The Store's Dodgy Search Function

Scenes

They need to fix this. With both turtles and blade runner recently, I still can’t find them using the Xbox store on the Xbox here in the UK.

That’s completely ridiculous. I shouldn’t have to jump through hoops and log into a browser on another device to purchase the biggest game releases that week. It’s crazy.

Re: Review: Sonic Origins - A Supersonic Collection That's Lacking TLC

Scenes

Can you choose Europe / USA / Jap versions of each game and does Sonic CD intro have ‘Toot Toot Sonic Warrior’?

Edit. Apparently Sonic CD has ‘You can do anything’ (toot toot sonic warrior) and the ‘believe in yourself’ end music from the European / Jap version. Unlike the 2013 remake. That makes it and Insta buy for me.. at least on sale 😀

Re: Blade Runner, The Classic Adventure Game, Is Available Now On Xbox

Scenes

I can’t find this in the UK store in the store app on Xbox. Like the recent turtles release it doesn’t come up when searched for. I only found that because it was on a recently released on game pass tile in the dashboard. I’ve tried closing and re-opening the store and restarting the console. Can anyone suggest anything to fix it?

Re: Xbox Exec Talks The Struggles Of Adding Games To Backwards Compatibility

Scenes

@Banjo- glad it’s not just me 😀 I was the same. I dropped out of gaming for 12yrs years Selling the 360 that had just come out and then got an Xbox One X a year or so before Series X came out.

One of the big attractions for me was all the 360 games I could play that I’d missed out on. I still play Left 4 Dead 2 more than anything, it actually got an update a few weeks ago lol. As great as all the new games are stuff like the new capcom fighting collection go straight to the top of my wish list.

I also love all the ACA Neo Geo games. They were way beyond my reach as a kid and I get a huge kick seeing them boot up knowing I finally have the power of a neo geo. 😁

Re: Forza Motorsport's Ray Tracing Will Be 'On' During Gameplay, Not Just Replays & Photo Mode

Scenes

@Sol4ris this x1000. Turn 10 have consistently shipped games running in ways that’s shouldn’t have been possible. Like 1080p 60 on Xbox one. I don’t understand why people are suddenly doubting them now? I have full confidence this will be exactly what they’re claiming.

Digital Foundry mentioned in their latest podcast when they visited Turn 10 pre-pandemic they constantly stress test the engine during development on the most difficult track with all weather effects turned on with all possible cars on the track in view. That’s a pretty niche edge case and that’s what their engines are tuned for all the way through development. This is going to be phenomenal.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Is Now Available With Xbox Game Pass

Scenes

There’s something very wrong with this listing in the store here in the UK. It doesn’t show up. I just downloaded it because I saw it on the dashboard in a recent added to game pass list. But a manual search in the store for TEENAGE MUTANT just brings up the cowabunga collection pre order and the Manhattan game that’s no longer available. Searching for SHREDDER just brings up the snowboarding game.

I was planning on buying it not just playing on game pass but I’d never be able to find it to download again. I hope this gets fixed. Anyone else UK based having the same issue ?

Re: Forza Motorsport Hits Xbox In Spring 2023, And It Looks Incredible

Scenes

@Thumper so is running at 1080p 60 on a base Xbox One but somehow previous Forza Motorsport games were some of the few to do so.

This isn’t theory about what they might be able to achieve with realtime ray tracing. They show it in the video. They even call it out specifically.

If you choose not to believe it fair enough. I hope you’re pleasantly surprised Spring 2023.

Re: Xbox Throws Major Shade At Claims Of 'Game Pass Burnout'

Scenes

Game Pass brought me back to gaming after 12 years. It’s that simple. For as many people as get burnt out as many like me will jump onboard.

The article also implies it’s a zero sum game. Let’s assume it’s true and game pass is loosing its shine. Is it going to start shedding millions of users each week? Does anyone who unsubscribes now pay full price for red fall and star fuels next year to stick it to game pass? It’s all money to Xbox either way.

Re: Reaction: Bethesda Delays Make June's Showcase Even More Important For Xbox

Scenes

@themightyant totally. But my point is all those games were delayed too. Psychonauts 2 was originally due to ship years earlier so also delayed.

If the PS5 was due to launch in 2019 as been reported then Miles Morales and the launch games you’re pointing to as ‘shipping on time’ were actually delayed a year and no one noticed.

I don’t think Sony having released more next gen first party games at this point is due to better planning or management. More luck.

Re: Reaction: Bethesda Delays Make June's Showcase Even More Important For Xbox

Scenes

@themightyant some good points. To be clear, I wasn’t suggesting those were your personal views just the raging voice of the internet in general.

For me, I’d rather have some great game pass announcements with third parties which could come at anytime. Rather then guaranteed first parties.

If it is a quiet first party year that would go a long way to making up the perceived lack of games.

Re: Reaction: Bethesda Delays Make June's Showcase Even More Important For Xbox

Scenes

@themightyant But we have no idea what's coming at the showcase. They could announce Motorsport, Hellblade 2 and some other stuff we have no clue is coming.. and Sony could have nothing.. or Sony could announce stuff too. And that would be fine also.

There's a Steve Jobs quote from 1997 "We have to let go of this notion that for Apple to win, Microsoft has to lose". Xbox fans seem to be stuck in that mind set.

If you think it's a zero-sum game and Sony has to lose for Xbox to win. Spoiler: We lost. Years ago. Game over. It's also amusing to me how those guys don't seem to count the switch at 107 million sold which is kinda eating everyones lunch, but the 'war' is Xbox v Sony only for some reason.

If the worse case scenario this year is Sony has God of War 2 for the holidays and Xbox has maybe Motorsport.. Xbox pucks and TV apps for their Xbox Everywhere initiative. That sounds like a pretty good year to me.

Re: Reaction: Bethesda Delays Make June's Showcase Even More Important For Xbox

Scenes

You can’t turn a big ship on a dime. If we accept it takes 3-5 years to make a triple AAA game then everyone crying out ‘Xbox can’t ship games’ doesn’t make sense. They only bought Bethesda a little while ago.

Plans they’re making now for consistent quality content won’t come into play for a few years. Not to mention pandemic delays on games currently in development which are affecting Sony too. If God of War gets pushed (which is very likely) what first party Sony games are coming this year?

If in 2025, there’s huge delays and Xbox has nothing for the year then I’ll be the first to come back to this post and say I was wrong. But for now, there’s nothing to worry about.

Re: Microsoft Could Be Set To Release An Xbox Streaming Device Within The Next Year

Scenes

@Snake_V5 if you look back in History there was a time when gaming imploded after the Atari VCS. No one thought the model of selling a hardware console and different software you could play on it was a viable business model let alone a major form of entertainment. It took a little known company called Nintendo to basically do the exact same thing, but make it work.

Just because Stadia imploded doesn’t mean that Microsoft’s Gaming everywhere initiate isn’t the ‘Nintendo’ of the modern day. Xbox isn’t saying streaming is the ONLY future of gaming. Just that it’s an option alongside local hardware. I don’t get why that choice is scary to people. If anything, that choice is the differentiating factor between Stadia and Xcloud. Have your cake and eat it too.

Re: Soapbox: Remote Play Is One Of Xbox's Most Underrated Features

Scenes

@Kilamanjaro I’ve had the occasional issue too. Usually when showing it to friends lol. One time even in the house on the same network it was super stuttering But days later I found rebooting my home router fixed it for some reason. Also it’s a live service and is still in beta. So while it works fine one day. It might well have issues another time. Overall tho it’s pretty impressive.

Re: Talking Point: Have You Bought An Xbox Series X|S Expansion Card Yet?

Scenes

I’ve really no need for one. I have 6-8 games installed at anyone time and have around 400Gb free. That’s the faves I keep going back too. A racer. A shooter. A fighter and whatever the new hotness is.

It’s great the expansion is available especially for those with slow internet (I have gigabit) but just never felt the need. A buddy bought one and filled it with games he doesn’t play tho. He just likes to have them downloaded. Each to their own.
