Remember kids, these games are only playable if you have Game Pass Core or Ultimate. You can't play them if you have Game Pass Basic, Game Pass Simple, Diet Game Pass, or Game Pass Beautiful. The games may be made available for Game Pass Texas, Game Pass Vanilla or Game Pass Gluten Free in the future, but we haven't decided yet. Games available for Game Pass Gametastic will be decided on a Game-Pass-by-Game-Pass basis.

So they've created a tier that is COMPLETELY useless 🤔 ...

Phil, and in fact much of the leadership, need to go. Indeed, Microsoft needs to make a decision about the continued existence of Xbox, because at this point, they're just getting on everyone's nerves. You get the feeling that if Microsoft ever did decide to leave the console space, it would be announced via a short, vague press release, probably the day after Phil gives an interview assuring the fanbase that everything is fine and Xbox will be around forever.

This has been my #1 problem with Xbox for years. I'm sorry but Phil has to go. Xbox HAS to be led by someone capable of creating and executing a concrete, straightforward plan. Notice that once again he's gone missing when there's bad news? Not great leadership.

@NEStalgia all this nonsense when ALL WE ASKED THEM FOR was games. 'Hey Microsoft, why can't you get better games over the finish line?' Turned into all this....and most of their first party games STILL aren't that good.

My current subscription ends in September; I'm done after that, I've already set it to not automatically renew. I've had enough.

I'll never forgive EA for taking competition out of sports games. This is why sports games pretty much don't change at ALL year to year.

The showcase was great, but now Microsoft has to actually deliver on the games. To be honest, we've spent a lot of time waiting and waiting for games that come out after numerous delays and are 7/10 if we're lucky. They've gotten better overall but some of these games need to hit a little harder

Much much less. I still love gaming but I have far less time to actually do it. This is probably a big part of the reason why I dislike games with long cutscenes, this is time I could be actually playing lol

Every time I see an article like this it reminds me that some people actually think that Microsoft is actually participating in the lame console wars.

Microsoft is trying to generate revenue, guys. They own quite a few highly valuable IPs and selling them to a wider audience is smart business. I'm just happy that so many of these games will be on Gamepass. It doesn't ruin anything that other console owners will get to play Doom, because I'm not a weirdo. Microsoft is going to make an ENORMOUS amount of money in the next few years, and that is good for the brand.

The Callisto Protocol was extremely enjoyable to me. I never understood the degree of hate it received. It wasn't perfect but it's a good game 🤷

I'm expecting Phil to retire or move on, however they phrase it, within the next year or so. His absence lately has spoken volumes. Whether Sarah Bond takes over or Microsoft cleans house, it's coming, I think.

I like it. Not differentiating this generation's box art was just a lazy choice (and yet another bad decision). These look nice!

The good news, sadly, is that with Microsoft making money this way, they may be motivated to actually improve the quality of their games. In fact if this keeps up, expect them to suddenly start caring about how their games review lol

Redfall will always represent missed opportunity. Every time I tried to play it all I could think was, "this isn't the game they set out to make ". It had a lot of problems, but mostly, it CLEARLY just wasn't finished.

I'm actually really enjoying it so far, although I do agree: I HATE the perspective puzzles and was greatly hopeful that they would ditch them this time, as they really are terrible lol. The combat is fine to me, as it does convey a desperate struggle. They definitely need something more layered for the next one.

Believe it or not it was Rallisport Challenge. I was in CompUsa and they had a demo unit. I fell in love and bought an issue of Official Xbox magazine where there was a feature on Dead or Alive 3...

It's one of Xbox's many issues: Natya doesn't give a damn about Xbox. In 2017 he was ready to close it completely, and he refused to greenlight anything around that time, which is why there was almost NOTHING coming out for a few years. Xbox is just a source of revenue to him, and he'd close it today if it would make Microsoft a dollar.

Gee....I wonder if all these sudden rumors about how well these games are coming along has anything to do with the ***** from last week 🤔.......

The level of incompetence within Microsoft is almost impressive. They have no idea what the plan is. They're making it up as they go along. Phil hasn't said anything (does he even still work there?). Oh, and why do this a month BEFORE the June showcase? Did they really not realize that people would be angry? Are they THAT tone deaf? I hate to say this, but I'm not sure if anyone from Phil and down should keep their jobs.

The move here, not that I think Microsoft is smart enough to do this, is to ensure that all of the 50 million games they have in the pipeline are actually good, full-featured games worth buying. With the number of studios that they haven't shut down yet, if they simply continue producing games of quality, they should be fine.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: someday they're going to make a documentary about the incredible level of dysfunction at Xbox. This company literally can't EVER get a game out on time and in good shape unless it's Playground Games. I guess I should be quiet before Microsoft shuts them down, too...

Nonsense. Everything is always about "building great games in the future", but nothing is ever actually produced but promises. Meanwhile, Hi Fi Rush is easily the best game to come from any of these acquisitions (yes including Starfield), so yea let's close the studio lol.

Add Hi Fi Rush and Ghostwire Tokyo to the enormous pile of abandoned franchises.
Microsoft doesn't, and has never, actually cared about delivering high quality software. That's why their showcases are always trailers for games that are coming out...someday. they care about profit, that's it. I'm personally tired of it.

I feel like the portable will take the place of the S series. There will be a powerful "X" console, and the portable in place of the "S" series.

I love a good soulslike, which is weird because I'm TERRIBLE at them. I have no reflexes or patience. My dream game is a Castlevania soulslike that I'll suck at but will love lol

@ganonms then people would have just complained about THAT. Just be happy that we live in an era where games can be fixed or improved post launch.

I think they should take a page from the Sony playbook. Assemble a studio made of staff from the Bethesda, id and Obsidian teams, and make their primary function making Fallout games. Then you'd get one every 5-6 years.

Microsoft has worked harder over the past several years to make Playstation owners happy than they have xbox owners...

I hope they do a little difficulty re-balancing. It's a beautiful game and good overall, but some of the difficulty spikes, especially with the bosses, are pretty annoying.
