Re: Xbox Begins Rolling Out 'Game Pass Standard' To Insiders For Just $1

Remember kids, Game Pass Standard is not to be confused with Game Pass Diet, which is entirely different. Oh and it's NOTHING like Game Pass Infinite. It's also not exactly like Game Pass XL, but it's close. On the other hand, Game Pass Ordinary won't be available until 2025, so in the meantime just subscribe to Game Pass: San Francisco. Hope that helps!

Re: Former Xbox Exec Defends Phil Spencer's Recent Decisions As Head Of Xbox

And that is exactly the problem.

Microsoft is treating xbox like it's nothing but a revenue stream. As a result, they don't really care about anything but making money. Exclusive content? Quality games? Release dates? They don't care. They're going to announce that Horizon 5 is going to Playstation at some point this week. Why? Because they'll make money.

Microsoft is basically just a 3rd party publisher that just so happens to produce a console. Avowed will probably end up on Playstation, as will Indiana Jones and the next Elder Scrolls. It is what it is. Not the end of the world really.

Re: Samsung Now Selling 'Select' TVs Bundled With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

@Ilyn @Ilyn "frustrating to unsubscribe" is subjective. If you're too lazy to do that, then you aren't trapped, you're too lazy to do something. Consoles aren't likely to go away anytime soon. They will most likely provide a premium experience for people who want to play with the highest specs short of a pc. This is ALREADY HAPPENING. the vast majority of people in Xbox's ecosystem aren't playing on a console. The variety of services are choice. Having to own a certain console in order to play a certain game? that's much closer to being trapped.

Re: Samsung Now Selling 'Select' TVs Bundled With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

@Ilyn how are you trapped? Let's say you want to play Starfield but you only have a PS5 and a PC. There is an easy, straightforward way to do that without having to buy an xbox. You want to watch a movie, you COULD always just buy it. You aren't required to buy new hardware every time you want to watch a TV show. AND, it's perfectly doable to buy any of these services for a month to watch whatever you want to. You aren't trapped at all lol. The future is that you'll be able to play whatever game you want without having to buy multiple boxes.

Re: Samsung Now Selling 'Select' TVs Bundled With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

This is the way forward. Microsoft has frequently been the most willing to go first. Once they establish a profitable business, Sony will follow. Nintendo will take several years to do the same. In the end, games won't be trapped on any one plastic box, and you'll be able to play whatever you want on whatever you want to play it on.

Re: Free Play Days: Try These Xbox Games For Free (July 11-14)

armondo36

Remember kids, these games are only playable if you have Game Pass Core or Ultimate. You can't play them if you have Game Pass Basic, Game Pass Simple, Diet Game Pass, or Game Pass Beautiful. The games may be made available for Game Pass Texas, Game Pass Vanilla or Game Pass Gluten Free in the future, but we haven't decided yet. Games available for Game Pass Gametastic will be decided on a Game-Pass-by-Game-Pass basis.

Re: Reaction: Microsoft's Constant Tweaking Of Xbox Game Pass Is Becoming Exhausting

Phil, and in fact much of the leadership, need to go. Indeed, Microsoft needs to make a decision about the continued existence of Xbox, because at this point, they're just getting on everyone's nerves. You get the feeling that if Microsoft ever did decide to leave the console space, it would be announced via a short, vague press release, probably the day after Phil gives an interview assuring the fanbase that everything is fine and Xbox will be around forever.
