Re: Redfall Dev Says The Team Is 'Continuing To Improve' The Xbox Title

armondo36

i think everyone who played Redfall yesterday came to a similar conclusion: it doesn't feel finished. Microsoft clearly knew the game wasn't coming along very well, which is why it was delayed (imagine how bad it would have been if they had released it LAST YEAR!). It just seems like Microsoft decided it couldn't delay the game again, so they dropped it. i figure there will be some small patches here and there and in the next few months a larger update to address some of the many issues. Think Fallout 76. I'll say it again: Starfield had better be good. I think pretty much everyone has one foot out the door by now.

Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Think Of Redfall On Xbox Game Pass

A few hours in here, and if there is a silver lining, it's the gavt that this game has highlighted exactly what the problem is at Microsoft: their quality control is abysmal. They have had years to look at this game and see it wasn't coming together properly, to either cancel it or push it out, or of nothing else to ensure that these fairly obvious problems are ironed out. We know they knew that the game wasn't very good because of the review embargo (usually the sign of a bad game). Whoever is responsible for making sure games under the Microsoft umbrella come out ON TIME and more importantly in good shape, is stealing money at this point.

All I can say is that Starfield better be good...

Re: Redfall Is Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (May 2)

I've played a few hours and the word that keeps coming to mind is "rushed". It feels like this project was pushed because Arkane felt it could be profitable, but it needed more time, even with the delays. I saw someone compare it to Fallout 76, which is fair, because I do expect there to be several extensive patches made for Redfall. It's probably a 6/10 right now but many of the shortcomings seem fixable, honestly. A patch could add more enemies, possibly make them more aware of you (they often just stare at you for a few seconds before reacting), some graphical polish, etc. There's a pretty good game in there somewhere, but this is a bad look right now. Microsoft needed a win here, especially after Benedict Fox. All I can say is that Starfield had better be great...

"So whaddya think?"
"Looks amazing actually. We'll put it on Xbox on ONE condition: you're not allowed to actually announce a release date. "
"Why not?!"
"It's just how things work around here. In fact it'd be great if you announce the game, then disappear for like 2 years, then come back, ANNOUNCE a release date, then delay it a couple times. REALLY piss the gamers off. We hate them SO MUCH....."

@TheCrafter1578 no, I agree completely. I played Elden Ring for nearly 100 hours because I found out how to over-level my character, which made the game about as difficult as an average game. I don't like these games otherwise and I'm really sick of almost every game being a soulslike. These are the people who made Nioh, one of the most ridiculous my over difficult games I've ever played. I quit after an hour lol

Re: Hey Microsoft, Could We Please Get Our Xbox 'Year In Review' Stats For 2022?

armondo36

I got you.

Elden Ring was really good, Microsoft released absolutely nothing,

Phil Spencer sat at the Game Awards like a kid who knew he hadn't done his homework and hoped he wouldn't get called out.

He got called out.

Xbox is still trying to buy Activision, but Sony is literally like, "hey no fair, then they might start competing with us!"

The FTC said, "actually that's true, see you in court!"

Xbox super pinkie swears they will release a bunch of games next year, they really mean it this time [Copied and Pasted from 2021, 2020, 2019].

You're welcome.

Re: Poll: What Is Your Xbox Game Of The Year For 2022?

armondo36

I bought elden ring near launch and bounced off of it almost immediately (I'm terrible at those games). In September I happened across a video teaching me how to quickly raise my level early on. I re- specced my character and started over. I LOVE this game now, easily my game of the year, just took a little while lol

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Game Awards 2022?

armondo36

@awp69 I'm not sure i believe there's a "great lineup" coming anymore. I assume they'll get Starfield over the goal line, and i think Forza will release, but at this point i could easily see them getting nothing else out except a bunch of excuses and promises. Terrible, nothing ever changes.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Game Awards 2022?

Every time that I think Microsoft is an incredibly unproductive gaming company, they top themselves.
They showed...absolutely nothing. NOTHING. Think about this: Microsoft is allegedly releasing a BUNCH of games in 2023. Do you believe that now? Couldn't they put a SINGLE TRAILER together? They didn't even have the courtesy to TELL us they didn't do anything. I'm flabbergasted, to be honest. Phil Spencer was in the audience! NOTHING?! I'm actually really interested to hear the Xbox apologists explain this one. Every other announcement was something for PlayStation. Microsoft showed ZILCH. We STILL don't know when anything is coming, 3 YEARS after that famous sizzle reel. No Hellblade, no Forza, no Avowed. NOTHING. Incredible, that's all I can say.
