Usually these kinds of things are half-baked or shallow at best anyway. I'm glad they made the decision to just not **** with it. It was my least favorite part of past HP games anyway.

Meanwhile, Sony buys a portion of FromSoft and partners with Kadokawa, which will almost definitely result in games like Elden Ring 2 skipping Xbox, and nobody bats an eye.

I used to really like Sony but they're being a bunch of two-faced a-holes this gen. Cry about one thing then turn around and do the exact same thing somewhere else.

Kind of reminds me about that time back in 2004-ish when EA got served by NFL 2K5 so they went and locked down the NFL license for all eternity. And it's been a blast ever since!

Hallelujah it's about ****ing time. The prompt works well enough when using smart delivery but if you're installing from a disk, having the external as default will install it to the external whether it's Series S/X optimized or not. Then when you try to play it, it tells you it requires the faster storage, so you have to move or copy it. It'll be nice to have this straightened out.

If they're just now starting it (which we don't know) that's only a two-year dev cycle. Hopefully it's not a mobile game or card battler or something.

I would personally be 1000% ok with a linear hack n slash like the old movie games, but with current gen physics, graphics, lighting, etc.

Saints Row 2 was the best in terms of content and story... but it ran like garbage.

Saints Row 3 had a more optimized game engine and ran much better but it didn't have nearly the amount of stuff to do that SR2 did.

I would personally love to see a SR1+2 remaster, but I don't think the world today could handle the OG Saints.

So is this what Dangerous Driving 2 morphed into? A little disappointed to be honest, I was hoping for a spiritual successor to Burnout 3, but it looks like we're getting a spiritual successor to Burnout Paradise instead. Sad face.

Also in the time that they've been working on this, Playground has released FH5 with the editor and the Hot Wheels expansion. That had to hurt

That still doesn't sound like a story campaign, just another mode. It honestly sounds like Battlefield 1's "stories," which in my opinion were kinda crap.

Honestly though, I just played through BLOPS3's campaign and... Eh... I dunno what Treyarch was doing with that one but I wouldn't have been very excited for BLOPS4 after that mess.

I find it interesting that they will consider 2023 a "gap year" considering it's the 20th anniversary of the franchise. Of all the years to NOT release something lol.

Pretty sure it sounds more in depth than it is. Just one factor of many that will be considered when the engine procedurally generates stuff like how snow would accumulate on rocks, where moss would grow, etc. It's not like they're wasting extra man hours manually placing bird ***** everywhere.

6-8 hours is longer than your usual Call of Duty campaign. Looking forward to giving it a playthrough.

@Lorfarius That's what partnerships are for. Just like how Twitch is integrated into the Xbox OS for streaming. MS tried streaming with Mixer, but decided it was more cost-effective to have a third party handle it. Same could be said with Discord. It might not happen in the Series S/X generation, but they're laying the groundwork for something.

@IronMan30 MS has already announced they're discontinuing the Xbox 360 games (which have always been permanently owned once you claim them). Once they do that, there will be literally zero difference between GwG games and the games in Game Pass, since you lose access to them if your sub lapses. It's just the first step in GwG going away entirely, or more likely, XBL Gold either dissolving or getting merged into Game Pass.

My prediction is this: Discord will take over party chat, and the Gold requirement for playing online will be removed. Game Pass will take over for the monthly games.

@Stocksy Why? Nobody had a problem playing as Franklin in GTA5. Or Nico in GTA4. And honestly it's about time they had a female character (though I personally think we should be able to create our own).

I just worry about how cringe it'll be. For some reason whenever a game (or hollywood for that matter) try to do a Latin person (in this case probably Cuban or Puerto Rican) they always lean on it a bit too heavily. We don't all live in the same house with our grandma and uncle. We don't all have papier mache jalapenos hanging up in the kitchen, and for god's sake, 99 percent of us don't mix english and spanish in a sentence. That **** is annoying as hell.

TMNT III Manhattan Project was one of my favorite NES games. Can't wait for my nostalgia to be shattered!

I played it back when it first hit GP. It had a few control issues but otherwise it was pretty enjoyable. As someone who knows practically nothing about Hindu religion/folklore I found the little mythology murals very interesting. Definitely worth playing through over a weekend.

I bought every single Far Cry game up to Far Cry 5. I used to love that series. But I just can't anymore. I don't even know if I could be bothered to play FC6 on Game Pass. That series needs a de-make. They need to strip out all of the garbage they've been adding to it over the years and go back to what it was.

Make it some Honey I Shrunk the Kids with some Lord of the Flies thrown in for good measure.

PGR2, Rainbow Six 3, Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike would be a dream come true.

MS is getting into the same rut that Sony is with their sales. The same games week in and week out. I have a wishlist in the Xbox store full of games that never go on sale.

Well for what it's worth... that's why it's on the PTS (public test server).

I love to dig into ESO occasionally. The lack of sub makes it perfect for hopping in and binging for a week or two then setting it down for a bit. I'm by no means a hardcore though, my build is average at best.

Normally I would say that these changes are only going to be noticed by the hardcore and completely irrelevant to 90% of the players, but at this point in the games lifespan, I'm pretty sure most of the ESO players are hardcore.

But as the above post said, they'll change it again in 3 months anyway. Just follow hacktheminotaur or someone on youtube and they'll tell you how to reconfig your build to get around the nerfs anyway.

@Rmg0731 That would be awesome, but don't hold your breath. Daybreak Studios still hold EverQuest rights I believe, but I don't know about Norrath (same universe). Sony might still have exclusivity rights tied up in some old dusty contract, which could be why there's no mention of it on Daybreak's website.

If Sony decided they wanted to do a remaster for PS4/5 I'd be all over it, but they don't seem to be interested in doing so.

@BartoxTharglod Of course, anything's "possible." And I'm not gatekeeping anything. People that enjoy those games are free to do so. But the ones that enjoyed RS back in the day (like 20 yrs ago) aren't likely the majority of Siege's player base. We're well into our 40's now. That's just a fact.

It really does boggle my mind how EA (and Ubi for that matter) got so far from what made their respective franchises great (Battlefield, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six) and can't seem to figure out how to fix them when they literally have the winning formula shouting and waving at them from 2004.

And before people mention how successful RS:Siege is; it's Rainbow Six in name only. The people that play it are not the ones that enjoyed RS back in the day.

Does that mean co-op is deactivated as well? Because that effectively cuts off actual in-game missions in Blacklist.

I have been waiting patiently for the day I can scrape it out of the plastic binder sleeve it's been in for the past 15 years and give it a go.

Honestly, it's not a great game. But it's not that bad, either. Definitely worth booting up into the easiest difficulty and blasting through in a sitting or two.

That said, that still might be the case.

Well let's see... Zombie Army Trilogy was on Game Pass. Then Sniper Elite 4 was on Game Pass. Then Zombie Army 4 came to Game Pass. Now we have Sniper Elite 5 on Game Pass.

Something tells me Rebellion is quite satisfied with their "low sales" on Xbox.

We should also keep in mind that for the most part, these games have always been B-tier, AA games. Which isn't a bad thing, but also might mean that they don't have to sell 5+ million copies to consider a game "successful."

While I always hope indie devs succeed, I have to be honest. That's pretty rough. They're probably being a bit pre-mature thinking about an Xbox version. They should probably just focus on that PC version for a while.

Just playing devil's advocate, but it's entirely possible that he never intended to stay longer than he needed to. Most of these guys who have been in the industry for as long as he has don't tend to go backwards. Staten will likely move on as well once they feel Halo is in a good place again. They came in to lend a hand (for better or worse) and then they'll move on to the next thing.

Looking forward to it. My buddy and I had a blast with Sniper Elite 4.

@Grumblevolcano it does if you're a new PS gamer who hasn't played most of those games. As someone who only plays the exclusive drop here and there on PS, there's literally no reason to bother with it as all those games are old news.

Even less of a reason for hardcore PS fans.

Sounds like a first world problem. I have a job that doesn't pay much and was often left behind cuz my buddies would buy the latest Mp game and play together and I would just chat cuz I couldn't always afford to buy the game. With Game Pass we all have access to the same games and when a big one dropped I would get to play with my buddies.

People complaining about a service that allows everyone to play together need a reality check.

Get rid of the AI soldiers. Flanking in that game was completely borked due to constantly getting shot in the back by enemy "players" that weren't there before or had no business being where they were. The AI soldiers had no rhyme or reason to their movements, and we're completely unpredictable in their behavior. One of the many things wrong with that train wreck of a game.
