COD Next

Activision and Infinity Ward have shared details about an upcoming showcase set to reveal the future of the Call of Duty franchise. The 'Call of Duty Next' event takes place September 15th, with a lot more than Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer on show.

Hosted by developer Infinity Ward, the livestream will break down the "immediate future of Call of Duty". We'd expect that to cover Modern Warfare 2 of course (the full multiplayer reveal is confirmed) along with Warzone's free-to-play sequel and potentially more, like the much-rumoured 'DMZ' mode.

The team has confirmed that some surprises will be kept under wraps until the show goes live on September 15th, with a final show time to be confirmed closer to the date. Could said surprise cover 2023's potential gap year for Call of Duty? We'll have to wait to find out.

Meanwhile, Activision has also confirmed the full range of beta dates for Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. A PlayStation exclusivity window remains in place, and if you want the full range of beta dates, we broke them down here, along with their respective playable platforms.
