I mean Microsoft has killed lots of hardware before and there was a surface device that was ready in warehouses for imminent launch that was cancelled too no? Since ABK the Xbox team has definitely had control taken away and it's now Microsoft gaming proper. Eye of Satya is upon Xbox and it's definitely been a negative impact from a consumer side.

When BBC writes an article about your price increase you know ya f'd up. The only feedback they are taking is from the shareholders and their wants. Activision was a poisoned chalice (I was cheering it on myself to be honest) and Xbox has the eye of Satya and the shareholders on it now which is why we're seeing all this. They are sabotaging the hardware and services to justify the move to publisher only in my opinion. It's where the money's at and MS is a software company.

I'm not cancelling per say because I'm stacked until Dec 2027....but I honestly likely won't be extending that time anymore so I'm looking to cancel? It all depends on what hardware comes out in that time and what I'm able to do. But i feel like I'll be dipping out of gamepass and just buying stuff on sale....on a PC console? No idea... just know this is very frustrating and really makes you feel like you're being kicked out of your ecosystem by a greedy landlord who's doing renovations no one asked for.

So are they going full 3rd party publisher and they are just pricing everything so high that people stop buying the hardware and subscription to a point that they can say it's not sustainable and they aren't going to be doing that anymore?

What's the point in buying something from them if you don't know that they will be around...or if they are just a PC storefront eventually are they better than the competition?

Damn....I'm guessing my stacked ultimate subscription won't be changed as a result of the price increase? It's a massive jump at a time when folks are tight on cash, I'd expect that there will be a dip in subscriptions as a result.

Well i quickly redeemed my son's points for a month of GPU. After today I'll either have to use his point's for other gift cards or if I want to buy some indie game or dlc i guess I can gift it to myself from his account?

It's annoying but it's been an amazing deal and I can't complain about the year's or free GPU I've gotten.

Apparently if you buy a month of gamepass and cancel it a week of two afterwards folks are getting a full refund so I'm guessing that loophole is going to be closed next?

I'm good until Dec 2027 and i imagine I'll still rack up a few months of free time before then so by 2028 I'll have to decide if i stick with Xbox and even see if Xbox is around. If they can stick the landing with the PC Xbox and play anywhere with cloud saves and such I really don't think I'll be going anywhere.

Pretty sure FH5 is still the only game I've played at launch... everything else I wait for patches before even thinking about playing. Hopefully this is awesome and I'm forced to predownload this as my second ever launch day game

Definitely sounds like not something I need to waste my time on to watch this later on. The February and Summer showcases are the only one's that they really put emphasis into so I'll just watch those

I don't know how to feel about this. CoD has great campaigns for story and action....but will it translate to a movie? Like someone already mentioned if it's an 80's/90's action movie then yes....but modern age I'm not sure. They need to go R rating on the movie even though 12 year olds are a massive player base. F them kid's I say.

Prices need to drop but unless Xbox compensates ASUS for subsidized pricing I don't see ASUS dropping the price. They make hardware so they need to make their margins off the bat.

First one was great, watched commercials in the main hub because they were just too good to walk past. For the humour alone I'll be playing this, haven't watched any of the gameplay and don't need to.

I would like one but I'm guessing it's going to be out of my price range so no...I won't be getting it

@Tasuki they really need to put in a toggle to be able to turn off the skins so you just see the base operators if you want. I wasn't too bothered with the ninja turtles even as they were "realistic", but the cartoons were what did it for me. I really hope battlefield sticks to their word on this

When the batteries die I just swap them and I'm back at it. I have rechargeable ones and just keep a pair ready to go always. People have the option to buy a battery pack if they so choose. I like the choice and hope they keep going.

Not surprising. Not a peep since they announced the game and in the current market would some sort of extraction/hesit game succeed? Surprised this wasn't announced in the big layoff news weeks ago.

I'd be very surprised to see this thing actually release. But if they can pull it off and save a ton a ton of jobs I'm all for it. If it's F2P i might try it, if it's not then I won't.

I think I'm close to the end of act 2 and i gotta say that E33 is one of the best games I've played. The combat is fun and i never look to avoid a fight, story is great and the music is insane.

I'm going to play both and BO7 will be first as it will be day n date in GP. I'll have to wait for Battlefield until it's in EA Play.

But out of the two I'm looking forward to Battlefield more as the now cartoon skins in CoD are too much.

Hopefully this leads to a hit in CoD player numbers and Xbox adds in a toggle to turn off the skins for folks who don't want to deal with that fortniteification of CoD.

They will go slower than what Xbox is doing but I'd imagine that anything that's been ported to PC is an option. I also don't think them porting crappy games like that Lego one makes sense as that really won't sell as it's just not a good game.

Spider-Man I could really see coming over as it's not really a Sony IP like God of War and the like, it has a PC port.... and they would gladly take the money because for all the praise it's gotten that licensing fee took a big chunk out of the profitability of the title. Returnal also makes sense to me.

Eventually I see the Horizon, Last of Us and God of War coming but that's after the first wave of non pillar games.

I was pretty interested in an Xbox handheld but with the expected prices I'm definitely not going to be getting one.

Spiderman would be cool but for me personally i have limited time and I'm purely a gamepass player. Most games I've actually purchased I've yet to play unless i bought them for the kids. So in reality i don't care what they bring over because it won't be in gamepass and I won't be playing it.

I've been playing Expedition 33 all week and it's freaking awesome, I'm around the halfway mark i think. I gotta say that the soundtrack is such a standout for the game. That's saying something when the story and combat are as good as they are also. If anyone else is behind the times like me and hasn't tried it already definitely make time for this game.

I wonder if Xbox team can get a bit more control over their affairs after this. The move was stupid from the get go and I have a feeling it was a higher up Corpo decision that they couldn't sway them away from. Clearly it was a mistake, but damage was done and once again mixed messaging and stepping in rakes for no reason.

Was the absolute best multiplayer and loved my time in it...but the ques got too long for w a match as players dropped off and i haven't played it in almost a year? Would love to jump back in but it needs a solid player base

I still never played it but it was really never on my radar as I don't have time for these large games. The deep dive they did on this after the showcase really got me interested in it but again, no time for games this big unfortunately

Dudes definitely going to retire soon, he has a family and is very well off. He's gotten pretty fit recently making me think he's taking more time for himself and stressing a bit less so would align with him taking small steps backwards to allow a smooth gradual transition.

I don't understand it... are there metrics showing that launching broken unfinished products actually makes money? Did they just run out of money and it was a now or never moment? With so many titles to play and a lot of it F2P you gotta come out swinging. Hopefully investors and management get the memo.

I don't expect any massive game announcements but I think they will have the handhelds there for all to try. There's been a ton of games already for 2025 with more on their way and 2026 stacked.... will they be announcing 2027 stuff or just going about partner and indie games? That Silk song game that's got people frothing could get a release date there, that could be the big game for them at the show.

@NishimuraX that's what Jimbo Jones was betting on, new management cancelled most of those and this is now joining the list. I'm pretty sure that they are well and truly done with live service games. Only one I see them maybe pursuing is a Destiny 3 but would you honestly trust Bungie with that after Marathon and all them missed forecasts that made them so appealing in the first place?

@Kilamanjaro yeah it's why I'm saying this thing is dead and dusted. We're not seeing this game because they would have to redo the art style and there's no way they will ever recoup that expense.

@StonyKL can you play your Xbox console library on the PC? If the answer is no to that then it's a no to your question.

But the new PC console hopefully won't have the online paywall. I'm all for the PC console, but I ain't messing with a PC. I've been told PC isn't a hassle to play on but i don't buy it. Just power on and play is why i want a console.

2027 seems like the date for Sony and Xbox. Going into the current gen i didn't have a console so i jumped in day one as an Xbox newbie but for 2027 I'll hold off for a while before diving into next gen. I would love for the PC console to be subsidized still so it's under $1K CAD after taxes but I'm worried that they will sell it at breakeven and it's going to cost us a bit.

Also.... storage.... please let it be like the PS5 where we can upgrade with off the shelf card's. As cool as the memory cards are the costs are just ridiculous and once compared to the competition just laughable.
