The numbers have to add up. Good for them being open and honest. Xbox is a very digital platform so I get the physical part. And personally I don't know what this game is and likely wouldn't have time to play it on gamepass even. They ran their numbers, saw it's a loss to put on Xbox and didn't. It's not Xboxs fault and it's not limited runs either. There aren't enough folks who want this game physically and it just is what it is.

@GamingFan4Lyf ROFL the clear resemblance to Pokemon is crazy....but also pokemon has been making pure trash games for a while so hopefully this lights a fire under Charizards ass and they actually make something good. I'm not playing any pokemon games....I'll be playing this however

I'm not sure that a shadow drop will be happening. I understand that it would be cool and all that but I don't think They can do one every January, and after only doing it once it's already an expectation so if they do it again it's going to be unnecessary hell if they don't do it next year

I voted everything except for Indiana Jones but honestly it seems like they've been working on it for a while so it could be a Q4 2024 launch

@umeandgames it's my first time hearing about it as well. Pokemon was great when I was a kid but the new ones suck so hard. This looks very promising, so I'm trying it and we'll see how it goes

I honestly don't believe anyone will have any actual hardware in 20 years. It's just going to be an app on anything with a screen with the option to use M&K or a controller with touch controls being the default for phones You see 2 year olds handle a phone ever... we're not the market of the future.

I see them being friendly with Nintendo and releasing certain titles there after a time, why not? I guess same would work with PlayStation but the level of little bitchness through the ABK deal just makes me petty I guess

I just started Ace Attorney on the phone with touch control and Planet of Lana on the Xbox. I'm going to likely put some more time into one of those. Maybe a few rounds of Halo with the guys, the now modes are fantastic.

@Grumblevolcano I'm pretty sure they are just at the game awards to stay in the eyes of casual gaming fans. Geoff is a ***** and it's clearly a marketing show with praise for his friends and things he likes with the thin veil of actually being an award show or actually celebrating the industry. It's a big paycheck for him while chilling with his buddies....that is all. I expect the Jan/Feb show to be a standard with just a little bit of stuff at Geoff's shows to say they were there. Cuz I'm sure Phil thinks Geoff is a ***** as well.

I don't know about a shadow drop but I'm expecting a show in Jan or Feb. They have so many studio's and are supposed to be releasing a first party title per quarter so they need to have at least 2 shows on-top of the big June one in my opinion each year. Also selfishly I really enjoy the Xbox shows and they are the only ones that i actually watch vs just looking at trailers online afterwards so the more the merrier. Hellblade will be getting a deep dive like Starfield in my opinion at some point this year.

I haven't played it yet, wasn't ever really interested until I saw the developer direct and it looked really good. But from day one this seemed to have missed what the majority of folks were expecting from the game. Since I haven't been following it closely I'm not sure if it was their messaging/marketing or players expectations but it definitely didn't seem to be the juggernaut folks expected it to be. Now it also seems to still be a big hit and success so it's also no Redfall. I'm hoping I enjoy it when I do give it a try....when I don't know lol.

If you're taking the role of a masked character you should probably realize your face isn't going to be shown. How ***** would star wars be if every storm trooper is walking with a helmet in hand? Or Vader?

I've yet to play it. And as it seems with all games by the time i do its actually going to be a lot better product.

0 games bought in 2023. My game time is limited so gamepass has more than enough for me to play. I'll be looking out for a huge sale on Avatar either physical or digital as kid's are really into avatar after our trip to Disney. Watching the second movie over the break so that might be something I'll actually buy.

I wonder how much of his playtime happened while on a plane or in hotel rooms on business trips. Im pretty sure he rocks the xscreen Series A and all the portables for gamepass

@Kienda unfortunately it's old folks like me with kids and a busy job that bring it down. I have weeks where I don't even play it at all anymore. I'd say 2-3 hours per week is a good week for me. If i could, i would play a ton more...but I can't.

Once it's in gamepass I'll try to get a lvl 100 character as well

I don't see how blade wouldn't be exclusive if India Jones was multiplat originally and then adjusted to be exclusive afterwards. It's at least 3-4 years away so wouldn't fuss about it now.

@AlwaysPlaying I just click in the quiz and back out and get the points. I only to the daily set quiz as it's the mandatory one. But yeah.... rewards points are going to disappear in a year or two at this rate so use em while we got em

Xbox showcase in June was perfect. All games and no fluff with an OPTIONAL extended deep dive afterwards. That's how you do a show.

Selfishly i want them to save big announcements for their own show but understand that this has the most eyeballs on it. There's talk of some sort of announcement with Sega as well for the show.

I'll check the site on Friday and watch any trailers that are interesting.

I really hope that they still have their own showcase in February. I'm guessing it's going to be a first party trailer/date reveal for a game and something coming to GP. BG3 would make sense as it's likely going to be GOTY from what everyone keeps saying (haven't played it) so advertising that the 2023 GOTY is in gamepass will be good marketing.

ABK tittles in gamepass will show me progress.... dump em in.

@BRT15 my controller that came with it had bad stick drift about the same time, maybe 2 years? I got the extend warranty and got a replacement but now that one just started with stick drift as well. I have 2 more controllers but it's annoying. I'm waiting for the new one with the magnetic sticks before i buy another one. Hopefully it's actually a thing next year.

So EA is just deleting the games and they are gonna forever now?

It sucks that they are clearly winding this program down. I'll be taking advantage as long as it's offered but clearly they are seeing metrics that point to them not needing that carrot infront of players for them to engage with gamepass. Rack them points up while you can

I'll probably play through a good chunk of old cod campaigns and definitely Diablo. Would love to have some warcraft/StarCraft on console....and rock n roll racing naturally.

Ohhh i do love me some Halo campaign!! Gotta say that infinite was good but more storytelling could have been used. Infinite multiplayer is legit the best. Shame they messed it up without enough content. I'm still playing it myself and still love the feel of it, looking forward to the new season.

In all honesty all corporations need to pay more in taxes. %wise they pay way less than the average person and make about a billion times more. I'd say find a medium of 20% for everyone around the globe and the world would be a better place. Really don't care if they have to pay this.

@johnK folks need to stop with the pre orders and make the devs earn that money. Social media is pushing FOMO and it's letting publishers/devs get away with shipping beta builds.

@Trmn8r this is very true. The past few years they could get away with it a bit more as there wasn't as much coming out and everyone had Covid impacts. But now with so much coming out you need to shine from day 1. If you're subpar you're getting forgotten immediately. It's harsh but really they should be launching a finished product.

Outside of HiFi Rush has there been a game released this year that was actually finished? Honest question.

I still don't trust that any game is ready at launch and it's why I don't even bother playing them until month's after launch when it's actually good to go.

After all the drama and it being in the news constantly they are going to have to do a cool roundtable presentation like they did with Zenimax to get the hype up around this. It's just ABK fatigue at this point.

I managed to finish up Beacon Pines last night before it left. I gotta say it was a fantastic game. The mixture of the "cute" art and dark theme was surprisingly a good match.

Just to spite the FTC I hope there's a Santa skin as a GPU park for CoD

Totally makes sense. Vast majority of people are casuals and don't care about the best hardware. They just want to play the games. The new gen of gamers care even less as they are used to playing games on phones and tablets. I only got the X cuz if the disk drive myself.

@ZYDIO it's not as good looking with the two tone colours but honestly i won't be looking at it, I'll be watching the screen. I just need them fancy sticks, all the other stuff is a bonus as well but just care about preventing stick drift.

If this was the FTCs fault they definitely should be suing their asses cuz it's a lot of data they didn't want to show to the public, competitors especially. Still sucks a lot for them but it's their fault so all they can do is let the person responsible go really.

I don't think this was a PR stunt as I'm sure they were looking at revealing this stuff at a show of some sort. Looking like an MS clerical error that will likely result in a job opening as this was pretty massive

So random question but can MS go after the FTC for this? It's a massive leak of confidential documents that they certainly didn't want their competitors to see.

So are the thumbsticks the magnetic ones that are supposed to eliminate stick drift? If so I'm getting one for sure. I'm not upgrading the series X, I'll wait until next gen and just get a new console.

@Kaloudz field of view, i think it lets you pull away further from the character so you can see more? Someone will need to confirm.

I'm working through backlog so when I do get around to Starfield I'll have all the buttons!!!

I'm holding off on buying another controller until they add in those anti drift sticks that everyone keeps talking about. I have drift in a second controller of mine now, out of warranty, so I'm going surgical on it to see if I can fix it. I'd happily buy a wireless one with the magnetic sticks though.

Performance mode it is most likely. Might give the RT option a go as well just to see how much it dips and if it's worth it.
