Today, we've seen Team Xbox highlighting a major new optimisation feature for the ROG Xbox Ally in the form of "Default Game Profiles", but this is far from the only improvement that's been added to the handheld device(s) recently.
In addition to various updates that were implemented last week by ASUS, we've also got Xbox highlighting various improvements that have been put in place from a software perspective, helping to enhance the Ally's user experience.
Those six improvements are as follows:
- Default Game Profiles for 40+ games at launch
- Improved Gamepad response after login
- Quicker Library loading, especially for players with large game libraries
- Improved Cloud Gaming page performance, loading more quickly and more responsive
- New Game Gallery filter by Performance Fit, helping you see how well games will run on your device
- Bug fixes and performance enhancements for improved stability and responsiveness
Beyond this, there's obviously a lot more to come in 2026 in terms of ROG Xbox Ally enhancements, including more major features such as Automatic Super Resolution (Auto SR) and Highlight Reels that are planned for early next year.
It's also been mentioned that Xbox is actively working on the "sleep and wake reliability" of the device(s), which has been a little bit hit-and-miss since launch, as well as "improved formatting options for microSD cards". We've previously heard how improvements to the docking experience are also on the way in the near future.
"This is just the beginning. We’re continuing to listen to your feedback, and excited to deliver even more new features and options that elevate the handheld experience."
All of this is obviously great to see if you're a ROG Xbox Ally owner, and we wouldn't be surprised if a lot of it is building towards the next Xbox console as well - there might be a lot of crossover between the two devices in years to come!
