The new maps are great and I'm still enjoying playing the multiplayer with my buddies. Hopefully they have consistent content updates and I do enjoy the mini events for cosmetics. when the cosmetics are good. That Ninja armour from season 1 is still my favourite. Add in a bit of that light mohawk on top, it's a beauty.
@Somebody maybe the company who is actively working towards not having crunch shouldn't give a date knowing it's very fluid? Crazy how it's them setting these expectations eh?
@Somebody they just need to stop shooting themselves in the foot. Absolutely nobody made them do a show and say everything is coming out in the next 12 months....they did that themselves. Likely to kill some bad vibes going around at the time. It's okay to ask a massive corporation to suck a little less you know. I still love my Xbox, still excited for starfield, do believe it's the right move for the game to get extra time, but don't like being mislead still.
I do honestly hope that SIE are looking at their own FPS IPs now and seeing what they will start working on as 10 year's is enough time to make a few games. When the deal goes through i hope they still pursue the FTC court hearings with the Sony docs so we see how much they are paying to keep games away from others vs making their own games. They money hatted some turds recently so that's all wasted money.
Hopefully the game is great and actually completed but this is yet another self inflicted black eye for Xbox. I do hope that they get their messaging straight as you really can't trust what they say. Until we see the June showcase confirm the September date it's honestly just another placeholder. A company that's trying to get away from crazy crunch culture and release big games can't be announcing release dates unless they are locked in. No more coming I'm 12 months showcases please, we can't believe you.
But I'm likely going to commit my time to playing this so i hope it's awesome
Looking forward to playing the new season with my buddies. This coating is definitely better than the green one's in the past, I've claimed them but never actually used them honestly.
Gaming is bigger than music and film...why would they want to exit that market? Pretty sure that $70B investment is a sign they looking to be a big player in the future
@Bleachedsmiles their marketing is pure trash. They have a few tweets and call it marketing. You'd think they would work on some ads on YouTube or during sporting events. I believe they had some stuff at baseball games the first year the show was in GP?
Guardians was a great looking game and a fantastic story. Still think it would have been a great animated movie or series, the gameplay wasn't great. Definitely fell asleep a bunch in my playthrough of the game.
Really looking forward to playing this game I was be expecting it to launch it a worse state at launch I have to say so but m impressed with what they have done so far. Gotta clear some backlog before i get to it so likely a few more patches before i actually get to it.
If you bring someone who knows nothing about gaming to look at the situation they will clearly say that this merger is a good move for consumers and the industry. Most companies that dominant an industry get lazy and do the minimum work/risk for biggest buck. It's why ABK basically got all their studios to stop making anything but CoD, why Sony does remakes of remasters and chargers full price plus $10 for fun. They need competition to innovate. Folks want that PS1/PS2 variety back....won't happen without this deal.
@abe_hikura it's clearly not for the switch and could just be streaming if the next one is just trash tech again. I imagine that they will step up the power a lot now that steam deck is out in the streets.
@StonyKL he could also be saying that knowing that you won't be homeless if your game doesn't sell well allows you to focus on making a great game you want to make? You have to be allowed into the service at the end of the day, so you make a trash game you likely won't be back, it's on their interest to make as good e game as possible.
@AlwaysPlaying i both kinda agree and disagree with you lol. I personally love indies and look forward to them more than the big games....and that's all because of gamepass. Before gamepass I would have never played these games - so gamepass allows more Indies to be played. I also only play gamepass so if you're not in there I'm not playing you....but i likely wasn't playing you before gamepass anyways so really not a lost sale from me personally. It's a great deal for me and most of the devs are getting me to play their games when i never would have before so they are benefiting as well. Only one to potentially lose anything is a trillion dollar company that says it's happy as well.
I've purchased less second hand games and played a ton more games as a result of gamepass personally. I don't think I'd be as inclined to play without it. Games are way to expensive and you can't rent them anywhere to try them first. Gamepass is the adult equivalent of the N64 from my youth... just enjoying gaming a ton like back in the day.
Carrying on in high on life, 4 bosses killed so far. Maybe some Halo with a buddy or two, likely some fall guys to work towards lvl 100 for both kids accounts to get that Spongebob outfit.
I still think it's going through. They already made concessions that aren't in these findings like the CMA mentioned. They might need a few more small ones but basically a legally binding 10 year contract to keep it everywhere with content and date parity is massive. I would love that May date bit I'm thinking it's June as originally planned.
@themightyant not sure I'm following... you're saying they should give it away for free? They shouldn't be allowed to make it so expensive it's restrictive but if you say you expect to sell X, if it's in your service we expect to lose Y....pay us Y. This is just expected no?
@themightyant absolutely they could....if they pay for it. It's why MLB is on gamepass.....cuz Xbox paid to have it there. They've already said that they are willing to have it on other supscription services.
Really looking forward to this one. Hopefully it's in a better state than my pessimistic view and I don't have to wait for a bunch of patches before playing on it. Hopefully some of that weird gypsy music from the trailers is in the game.
No need to keep it going really. If it's not being played why waste resources on it. A lot of underperforming live service games are being shut down this year it seems. Reallocate them resources to something new.
I started lost in random for the quest and now i have another game i need to finish. I've found a lot body games i really enjoyed and likely never would have played through the gamepass quests. Working through Broken Age currently froma quest two weeks ago.
So they doing the exact same thing as they have in the past....but a play on words generated revenue for the author as everyone is talking about it. They know what they did and it's working exactly as expected.
@LordFunkalot definitely is annoying that almost every game isn't ready at launch. I don't trust any publisher and always wait for at least the first patch before thinking about playing a game unfortunately.
I'm really looking forward to Atomic Heart but I'm definitely feeling like it's going to be a 2-3 patchs post launch kinda game before i look at it. They had to move development (COVID 19 development that is) from Russia due to the sanctions so im expecting this to be coming in rather hot. The graphics and story looked bonkers from the first showing, I'm just waiting for the final product before playing.
I like the format. So long as we have more of these each year and an E3 type event that looks forward a bit further that would be great. The no date for motorsport was disappointing, was expecting a firm date for everything at the show.
I Loved playing Grand Tourismo on PS1 and PS2 so I'm thinking I'll be able to sink a decent amount of time here but I'm not a hardcore sim guy. I do hope that the digital gear heads get everything they want out of this.
Seems like it's a big divide in folks either only expecting what they have said would be at the show or expecting a January E3. I think it's just going to be what they promised with some GP titles announced for February as well. It looks like they will be trying this direct format for 2023 to see if more frequent shows about upcoming launches will work for them like Sony and Nintendo with hopefully a good E3 for initial announcements. I'd rather more frequent shows with some small surprises in them vs just one big show in June.
I really really hope that they learned from the whole debacle that's Halo Infinite. From the fact they didn't know it wasn't in a launchable state until the last show before the launch of the series X, had no content ready post launch to having to actually issue this statement.... this was a massive internal failure. This must have driven changes to how they managed studios surely.
@Welsh_Will i'm gaming for free from here on in as my current 2 years of GPU is all from rewards points. I put $120 towards my headset and used at least $30 for Xbox credit in the past 2 years as well all from just doing the searches and GPU quests.
Well I'm officially playing through all of broken age now lol. It was on my play later list and I'm really enjoying it. I didn't do last weeks Dishonoured 2 quest so I won't be committing to all the weekly quests but hoping to do at least 3 of the 250 point quests if possible to rack them points up.
I'm looking forward to/: 1) that Alice in wonderland game (forgot the title) 2) Redfall 3) Atomic Heart 4) Starfield 5) Diablo (if in gamepass) if not then Hellblade 2
Pretty sure infinite isn't going to be a 10 year game. Although at the rate they release content it might just be 1-2 campaign expansions anyways.
Really enjoyed it, still play the multiplayer with my buddies. Going to get them to play co-op campaign. Really hope they can improve it some more still but if not it's still my most played game by long shot.
@NEStalgia @somebody i personally don't care if it's delayed a bit but they had a show specifically stating what's coming out in the next 12 months and 6 months later changing their tune. They don't have any goodwill to burn so why keep making these mistakes? If you don't have a locked date just keep quiet. Could have just said 2023 but they locked themselves in for 12 months. Not cool.
If it's delayed out of the first half you might as well never do the coming in the next 12 months show again. Just a massive loss of trust.
