There's always been something wrong with the marketing of Xbox. Not saying it's this guy at all, I'm wondering if it's a Microsoft issue where they just don't have any budget for marketing so they are doing a great job with the scraps afforded to them? I can't see how you could keep people in their roles otherwise....cuz as everyone is saying.... Xbox marketing is abysmal
My day one series X is still working perfectly so no need to upgrade. Although with all the games coming out and especially CoD being massive I'll likely be looking into an expansion card. They're way too expensive still in my eyes so I'll be looking for a black Friday deal hopefully.
This game looks like it's going to be awesome. I vaguely recall playing the first one on my younger brother's Xbox back in the day but I've really never gone far in it....so I'll say I've never played one. I'll have to play through them as folks are speculating that the sister of someone from the first games is the evil villain? Also the Don't care if we play as the female on the game, seen some arguing that they should have multiple characters to choose from.
That's a lot of stuff right there. Asides from the obvious big names I'm looking forward to Mixtape. I like those odd games, never would have known it's my jam if not for gamepass. South of Midnight looks fantastic as well and @FarmDog08 I agree that Expedition 33 looked really good and intriguing.
@AlwaysPlaying I won't lie I did the same thing when I was writing his name. Sorry to all the Geoffreys out there....but you're likely a turd. 100% of Geoffreys I know are so it's scientific.
Gonna watch it after the fact. Turning all notifications off and not looking at any news that day. Once kids are in bed I'll turn it on and enjoy the show. For all the rakes they just love to step on, Xbox sure puts on the best showcases.
Is this a f2p game? I think that the day's of paid multiplayer games are kinda dead unless you're CoD. The Sinister 6, Black Hole time sucking games kinda force you to do that. It's actually crazy what impact fortnite has had on the industry, it's like social media....you can't go back now even though it might be better if we could
Infinite is still the best multiplayer shooter experience in my eyes. Still play it weekly with my buddies. Mishandled at an epic level....but a fantastic multiplayer from day 1.
There's been numerous reports of infighting at MS over Xbox and what they need to do. We had people leak out all the potential games on the table to go to other platforms and now this. I believe that it is now Microsoft gaming, no longer Xbox, and as they've shown historically MS isn't worried about doing a 180 on a dime if excel shows it's good for the bottom line. That's what's happening now. I wouldn't be shocked if Phil is gone by the end of the year.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner saying something to sell a product and it not being true is against the law however. That would be the FTC's wet dream if they actually did that.
I'm no legal expert but isn't it an issue when you say all first party will be day n date, go on record to say CoD will be in gamepass day n date....and then don't put it in the service day n date? There's definitely a lawsuit coming and it's going to kill the brand. I can't see this actually happening, I'm expecting that the new CoD will be in gamepass and it's going to be announced in June as such.
But typical Xbox, horrible communication resulting in negative speculation and rumours that will run rampant and further erode the brand until June.
I'm definitely not buying anything on the platform until i see what their actual plans are. Have gamepass for over 2.5 year's stacked so I'll ride it out until then and make a decision on where to spend my money when I have to spend it next.
Really crazy how fast changes are being made since they made more revenue than windows. Unfortunately the kid at the side table who no one cared about is centre of attention now with corpos and shareholders looking for cash in every corner. ABK definitely a poisoned chalice in the end.
@JoakimZ they only way that games will launch completed again is if people stop pre-ordering and just don't play it on gamepass or buy it at launch if it's broken.
Money is all that talks so if they launch it and it sells then they don't have to change anything clearly.
Don't be a beta tester, wait 6 months and buy it a half price with twice the features.
I just rolled credits on Ravenlok and really enjoyed it. It a nice short game and is kids version of a soul's like? Either way it was enjoyable and if you have time to finish it before it leaves I'd say give it a go.
Also this was the first time that I saw them tell you that you can buy the game at a discount before it leaves GP right when you boot it up.
I hate warzone but don't mind the OG CoD multiplayer. And with gamepass me n the buds all have access so we'll definitely give CoD a go. I like campaigns as well so likely will try and play through the series
I ain't got a lot of time to game so shorter games I can actually finish. There are a lot of games that I haven't even tried just because I really don't know if I can commit my time to finishing them. So Hellblade being 8 hours is just perfect.
It's gotta be a modern CoD and they really need to actually try and market gamepass and the fact that CoD is in there of they are actually trying to make this a success. What's the point otherwise. The casual consumer that they are so desperately trying to get doesn't know about gamepass....it needs actual marketing... I know that it's crazy but it's true.
@Blaa im pretty sure this is the holiday announcement. The handheld is supposed to be part of the 2026 next Gen launch based on all the discussions on podcasts.
Maybe that new controller is announced for the holidays as well.
They really need to make the next Gen a PC basically without any of the PC hassle. That way a dev just has to make a PC game and it can work on the "console". Eliminate the extra time of making an Xbox port. The worry without that option is that if they do go semi/full third party they will lose support of more and more titles because there will be less of a need to own Xbox hardware to play their games. There isn't any example in history of a third party publisher with it's own console....I don't see how it can work without it being able to play PC games and requiring an Xbox port.
I'm not techy so can someone explain why the next Xbox can't just be like a PC from a developer standpoint? I'm really enjoying Xbox and gamepass but it's looking like ABK was a poisoned chalice. Now that gaming is a key pillar in the financials vs a footnote shareholders and the board care about it and are likely the cause of the push to move software to other platforms. The messaging is crap as usual and it's hard to justify spending money on digital games when you might not be on the platform in the future. I don't like playing on PC so just give me something that I can plug and play into a TV and I'm good... just make sure it has developers support.
Hence the "can it just run PC games but not have the hassle of a PC ?" question. That way it's a non issue as PC will always have support.
There's been a lot of talk about them having another gen starting in 2026 so maybe it's true. I am curious about the prospect of it being a dockable thing like the switch. Either way let's get that fancy new controller out with them anti drift sticks.
Gamepass, controller, rewards points, cloud saves and cloud gaming. It's very convenient and for someone who can't always play infront of the tv having the ability to play on a phone or laptop if needed and just carry on with the progression is really great.
Also tbaggin mofos in Infinite is always a good time lol. Fiesta or Husky raid is just pure mayham.
Oh also how fast and quiet the series x is and quick resume.... beautiful stuff.
@GuyinPA75 if it's actually the full playable game on the physical disk/cartridge then yes it's definitely the best way to go. But in reality a ton of physical media is just wasted resources for something that you're going to have to download digitally anyways because it's not actually on the disk/cartridge.

Didn't think I'd get any time but I did finally finish up Planet of Lana (wasn't overly impressed surprisingly) and get a few rounds of Brotatoe in.... that game is a lot of fun.
@GamingFan4Lyf unfortunately Xbox is a brand that negative news generates a ton of income for all the news sites. It also sounds like people internally leaked this data because they didn't like where thing's were going so they definitely were counting on this blowing up so that a response is necessary. It will hopefully also douse some of the MS influence that's clearly based on numbers alone and not understanding the industry.
Xbox/MS just knows how to score own goals, no other company has a history like them surely
@GamingFan4Lyf Listen if this was all fake they would have said so in a tweet right away. Everyone is going to be an app on a screen in the future, is this just another case of Microsoft pushing the eventual reality out too soon.
No idea what to expect but i believe that since Xbox went from a little footnote in the financials to 3rd largest we are now seeing the result of it. If it's the controller that they had in the leak then yes I'd get it. My biggest requirement now is the hall effect sticks cuz I've had stick drift in two controllers now and that's gotta stop. @MrMagic I'm sure they would love to go all digital tomorrow. They will let Xbox go first to take the heat and they will go not long after. Next Gen will be all digital but they likely will start in 2026/27 once Xbox got beat up about it and everything settles down.
Is PC is 100% digital? PC ain't my jam so not sure if it already is and of so for how long?
@MrMagic Sony is literally selling all digital consoles with an optional disc drive....if you don't think they are going all digital you're lying to yourself. All digital means lower costs and no lost sales to second hand market
@Kaloudz I don't think it's as far away as people think. Alan Wake was digital only, Hellblade 2 is digital only.....it's started already and I'd imagine that most 2025 titles will already be digital only. Stores are already telling us that they are dropping physical media.

The format of all their shows is awesome now. Developer Direct gives you a behind the scenes look told by the devs and the showcases are just games and nothing else with optional deep dives after the fact. Just perfect
I imagine consoles will be a thing of the past in the next 15-20 years, we have like 2 maybe 3 more gens and then it's just going to be an app on any screen, with controllers for us old folks optional. Also Xbox sharing their toys will benefit them with their next acquisition as they've said repeatedly they will be making more deals. Satya said under oath he doesn't like exclusives as well. Next Gen is definitely going to be all digital. If the new switch is all digital then it's 100% an industry standard. It sucks but it's been heading that way for all media for a while now.
