People choose to put games in the service. Also there's a ton of games out there and people have limited time and money. It's a double edge sword as some have said already and without gamepass i never would have played the first game, let alone buy it. I did play it and enjoyed it due to gamepass however. I've also not played the second one yet because of lack of time. If they didn't want to be in there at launch they shouldn't have signed the deal. Try and negotiate for a a year after launch, just expect less money unless you blow up in popularity.

Again it's an option, so you can say no. Can't take the money and be mad that your game isn't selling when it's also on other systems... that's not the fault of gamepass.

@roe nice.....I'm going to hold of for some sort of sale though cuz I'm thinking the ally X will be well over $1K in Canada... pre tax.

@bantxi I'm pretty sure you open the game bar and go to those launchers. To get to actual windows will require tweaking and twerking i believe.... which is great...focus is all on just playing games.

Steam deck apparently is similar in that you need to work to go to the actual OS vs the game mode?

So can you download a game, Jedi fallen order as an example, from gamepass, go into the woods and play it without any data or is it going to be a brick because it's not online? I imagine the answer is yes it will work but has this been discussed confirmed anywhere?

I've said it multiple times that I had no interest in this and was looking forward to the official Xbox one in a few years but after the showcase in definitely a feeling a little college girl curious about this. Definitely won't be a day 1 purchase, I'll hold out to see how it actually performs, costs and I'll need to see how much of an issue if any it being PC gamepass vs console this is for me.

@AlwaysPlaying I'll be there too. I've not played a GTA since PS2... I'm likely the wired one of out of the bunch but i most likely won't be playing GTA6 at all.

Gave it a B. It was the least exciting out of the past 3 years but it's still the best showcase around. There were a bunch of titles that weren't in gamepass shown and a bunch of stuff wasn't for me. Phil saying we're getting a Forza next year does get me excited for what's coming in 2026...and that handheld was actually better than i expected. Definitely won't be a day 1 purchase but might be something down the line if they don't pull the trigger on making their own handheld.

If it doesn't play your Xbox library I ain't looking at it as an Xbox handheld. Rumours are that next gen the console and PC will be one and the same but as it stands it's not and i want a handheld Xbox...not a regular handheld with an Xbox button. Hopefully they move forward with their handheld or at least make an OS that other's can use to make it a portable Xbox.

Honestly would you expect them to not step in this rake even if they weren't in their multiplatform push? It just seems like an Xbox thing to do so I don't think it's then not caring, it's just their 6th sense to scope out a rake and step on it.

I'm muting my chats, avoiding all gaming media until I watch it on YouTube later that evening. Mofos trying to leak and spoil everything nowadays so likely reducing the gaming news reading from now on as well. I just want to watch it without expectations so I can be e surprised if something unexpected happens

I have a week in July where I'm home on my own and I'm playing this then.... really looking forward to it...so happy it's not a 100hr game as I wouldn't ever touch it then.

No. I want a handheld but i'm waiting for the official Xbox one. Even then I'm under the impression it's going to allow me to play gamepass games offline with relatively no fuss in doing so...no tweaking and twerking required. Otherwise that will also be a no.

None, that's $125 after taxes in Canada. Gamepass or i ain't playing it unless it's an indie for $30 or less that I really want. I already have too little time to play what's in gamepass so no way I'm paying $125 to play something outside the service.

Best show in the business and the one I look forward to. Only shows i really watch are the Xbox ones, everything else i just watch whatever trailers look interesting but the Xbox shows i actually mute chats for and watch the show spoiler free from start to finish.

I imagine we're going to see FF7 get announced at the showcase..16 as well. It's a little too late for them though so hopefully they aren't expecting big sales, gamepass would be great but I don't think that's happening.

I've actually never finished a gears game yet! I started the ultimate version on PC while waiting for the series X launch but apparently the save data doesn't transfer from PC to console so i dropped it. I've installed it twice since then to finally play it but with the new version coming i once again deleted it and will play it through for the first time this year.... hopefully

@PlatinumMikey i think i would actually be able to double or triple my gaming time with a handheld. Native, offline gamepass games on the crapper...yes please.... also why can't i feel my legs?

Yea yeah...whens the real Xbox handheld coming? That's what I want.

I still think Halo is a fantastic shooter and loved my time with it but i deleted it a few months ago. CoD isn't as fun so I'm pulling back from that as well but it's something i play with my buddies. Wish there was a larger player base for infinite....I'd jump back into it.

I don't lol. I just wish i has this as a child...but then again I'd likely really be a bum if i had access the all these games. Expedition 33 I'm playing in July, have a week without the family and I'm no lifing it to get it done in that week.

Most of my game time is on the phone so I've been playing slay the spire as it's touch controls and doesn't need a good connection. Really would benefit from the handheld so hopefully it's not a turd when they announce it...i need it to play local offline gamepass games.

I had stick drift on my controller that came with the series X and then on the replacement they sent me.... until they have hall effect sticks I'm not buying their stuff. Second they do that I'm definitely getting one again lol. Have a Wired gamesir controller currently but I miss the wireless.

No crystal ball to tell the future but if they approve more variety of games as a result and these games are in gamepass that I can play on Xbox hardware if I want to then I'm all for it. I love Gamepass and am very interested in their handheld. So I really don't see any reasons to switch platforms myself as lossing gamepass, cloud and play anywhere isn't something I'm willing to do.

Just don't be greedy and reinvest into more games of all genres and sizes please.

Fully digital is the future. There's pros and cons but PC is a huge market and all digital. With play anywhere and streaming your own games digital will have many benefits. Wondering if they will revive the Xbox one digital sharing idea now that Nintendo is doing it and it's not seen as evil?

Minecraft dungeons was great and I play it with the kids randomly still... I'd gladly take a new one

Titanfall 2 is still the best shooter campaign I've ever played and the multiplayer was awesome... please make this true!

Xbox show's are the best in the industry, looking forward to seeing what's cooking for gamepass.

If your actually upset about the pricing you better not be preordering. No corporation cares what's posted online if the product flies off the shelf.

As a self proclaimed tech simpleton I'm all for the console over a PC because I hate the tweaking and twerking. I want to power it up and play, that's it. So if they Frankenstein a PC and a Console where it's the console experience with the PC benefits I'm all in...but it's gotta be plug n play like today for me. Gamepass and Xcloud have been massive for me since getting back into gaming this gen.

Looking like a weirdo game that I tend to enjoy. I hope it has touch control on the phone so I can easily play it in chunks over lunch or before bed.

Switch is a toy in my eyes and at that price it's not one I'm rushing out for. The kids were supposed to save up and buy it for themselves like the last one but that $800 CAD post tax price is just too much! Might have to help them out with now lol. Eventually we'll get it I'm sure but in a year or two. All this recession talk ain't ideal to launch such an expensive kids toy with higher priced games.... timing us really off for them.

At this point I hope they realize they won't get high sales... and I personally wouldn't pay full price for it either. You signed a deal and screwed a fanbase... what you gonna do for us is more of the mood vs celebrating the game.

I really could use a handheld but I'm definitely holding out for the official one from Xbox. It will 100% need to have the ability to play games locally and offline... with a push of a button for the offline hopefully instead of the PC tweaking and twerking required. I am a simpleton... make it easy peasy or you ain't getting my cash.

I might actually have to get this to play with the kids. I'm Venom though....not an option for them.

Only way a Sony game will be on an Xbox device is through the steam backdoor option if the next gen is actually a PC console with steam on it

No way there's a disc drive on any Xbox devices going forward. They will allow someone to sell an external one you can plug in but they won't be selling you one. Their entire vision is a digital market, can't play on cloud or a handheld with a disc.

This is definitely proof it's good business for MS. But I'm not MS, time will tell if all this extra revenue will actually turn into more games being approved in different genres for gamepass...on future Xbox hardware. That's what I'm all about so hopefully that's what these sales turn into.

I've never played ab AC game but I'm happy for the devs that it's doing well. A lot of Doom n gloom around Ubisoft so hopefully these folks jobs are safe.

More time is always good so no issues with that but I'm wondering if this is more to get as far away from GTA6 than anything else. They keep claiming GTA is coming in 2025, no one believes it....but maybe it's actually a thing. Either way, not like Xbox has a shortage of games and this actually hurts their lineup.

I'm on the final episode of the the last walking dead game.... only took me 4+ months to get there lol. I wish I had gamepass when I was a kid with time so I could actually fully enjoy basically having a blockbuster at my fingertips

Xbox might be a massive mess with messaging and... well....a lot of things...but they absolutely have it locked down on showcases. As usual, fantastic show and man I'm disappointed that my life really doesn't suit me playing expedition 33.... that game looks amazing!

I'm a gamepass player but if games like Halo are going full 3rd party how will gamepass work if it's eventually just a PC thing? I don't see Nintendo or Sony allowing GP on their systems and without a reason to get an Xbox the amount of 3rd party titles in gamepass is sure to drop. If next gen is an Xbox with other storefronts.... basically a PC console...then I can see this working still. But if it's not it's spooky if true. There still seems to be mixed messaging from Xbox so likely things are still being discussed and fought over....but if you go full 3rd party you might as well stop with dedicated hardware. It's usually doom n gloom at Xbox with a slight period of positivity so this might be a nothing burger....but it's likely a self inflicted rake in the face as is the norm lol.

Not gonna lie but I'm at the point where the January show is just an expectation. Don't see why they would ever stop doing them.

Likely some 3rd party announcements? Wu Kong maybe? They save most of the good stuff for their show, Geoffrey is a biatch and they know it buy they need a presence of some sort because so many people tune in. They should totally plug their showcase there...I would love to see that on a YouTube highlight cuz sure ain't watching the show lol.
